Yes bro it's so great to see that metro network will be rapidly spreading across mumbai and many more big infrastructure projects but one thing that always scares me are elections because if anti development people once again come to power things will be delayed and stalled like we all have seen in past 2.5 years.
@@rockybhai4603that anti development govt only built metro 2a and 7, progressed work of line 3,6,9,5, mthl, coastal road, sclr etc you need to broaden your mindset bro..
Instead of showing part map throughout, suggest all lines in one map, showing proposed in different colours. All are not conversant with entire geography of Mumbai.
I like that interchanges are being kept in mind but they are so poorly designed! They are not easily accessible and people will have to walk on long, poorly thought out and constructed corridors to just change trains. They could have designed it to have cross platform transfers or transfers requiring only a change of platform levels. And I don't understand why the metro is not that well connected with the Suburban and Intercity railway system. The BKC High Speed Rail terminal has poor connectivity too. Why didn't they plan the route of the ' Airport Express ' in a way that it can also connect the High Speed Rail terminal? That would have been a massive boon to international flight passengers who want to go to places like Valsad, Surat, Vadodara, etc. We could also have had integrated time tables and an integrated fare system (one ticket for all - Metro, bus, local and passenger trains) despite different operators (like how it is in cities like London, Tokyo, Paris, etc. Or in the entire country like how it is in Switzerland). This was a golden opportunity lost. Anyway, atleast the much needed metro network is being made.
Even I used to think the same about half baked Interchanges of Mumbai😅, untill I explored and experienced Bangkok Metro system, which is quite same in terms of Interchanges, that Mumbai would be in future. Yes Gold line should have had Interchange with Bullet, both are anyways underground, would have been beneficial for NMIA too. Even if not Gold, Line 3 can be connected by a Underground way including Travelators for seamless connections. The integrated fare system is fortunately now possible nationwide with NCMC Cards.
@@SaurabhRautIR I wasn't aware that Bangkok has the same problem. Thanks for enlightening me. Whatever I have stated here is knowledge that I have gained after watching transit channels like RM transit and their excellent videos on the railways of Tokyo, Paris, London, cities in Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc. Hopefully, people will actually utilise the Metro to its full potential. And yes, NCMC cards will be a big boon for us Mumbaikars. Now, only IR needs to figure out a way to actually seamlessly integrate the local trains with this system. I will check out your video on that, too.

Some food for thought: When line 7 is fully completed with 7A&9, they shouldn't run the metro only on a single route from T2 to Bhayandar directly. Otherwise it will become like existing virar local, where Dahisar onwards people do not space to board the metro. Even today with integrated 2a & 7, the metro gets full by Anand Nagar and people need to stand from Dahisar East to Gundavali (in peak hours). They should have something like T2 to Dahisar East and Dahisar East to Bhayandar in addition to the direct route of T2 to Bhayandar. Also, when the entire route is completed they can have some fast trains halting at major stations saving time, otherwise traveling from (say) T2 to Bhayandar will take very long with metro halting at every damn station on the route.
arent the Pink line stations interchanges too far from each other? will there be an actual physical interchange bridge like we have today at Gundavali and WEH?

Red Line will be running from Bhayandar to CSMIA T2, where it will be Interchanging with Line 3. So, when u get onboard Line 3 from Girgaon, you will need to Interchange to Red line at CSMIA T2, which will drop you to Bhayandar.

We might have a Escalation + Travelator Skywalk connection Line 3's BKC and Bullet Train Terminal, because obviously it would be mandatory to connect the crucial Line 3 with Bullet Train Terminus.
Depends on the future. People might have thought same about Indian Railways back in 1840s and 1850s when it was being constructed and not that mandatory.
Line 2B will be a game changer, I hope they can build it by 2024.
