- When in 1999, the body of a beautiful 34 year old model and celebrity bartender was found lying on the floor of the fancy Tamarind Court restaurant in Mehrauli in New Delhi, with a clear bullet wound to her head, her family and the cops thought this was an open and shut case. This was a party of 300 some people, after all. Someone has to have seen someone, someone will come forward. There should’ve been no dearth of evidence in the case at all. And 7 years after the crime, the verdict was out. The Times of India printed the verdict on the front page of their February 22’ 2006 paper. “No one killed Jessica”. This is the story of that night in 1999 when Jessica Lal was killed, yet somehow nobody killed her. This is the story of Jessica Lal.

I have known about this case for a long time and wasn't super keen to listen to it again. But being you guys, I decided to watch this video. Aishwarya, your oratorship and scriptwriting are truly phenomenal. The last line gave me chills... Insane guys.
If you have read the book black warrant… the confessions of a Tihar jailer… u would know that the murderer had a lot a privileges and used police like his puppets… hotel meals and outings… clearly it was not a release on good behaviour… if he’s not a politician’s son or from a wealthy family… he would be rotting in prison for life

Not true. Justice is screwed up in America and other countries as well. Only place it was good was saudi arabia. They dont play around. Public execution within a week so the next guy doesnt even think of murder or rape

This case shows us how f'uped our justice system is. If u think how hard convicting manu sharma was then u should read about how easily he manipulated the system while being in jail. From staying in a luxury hotel to getting bails saying mother's sickness and partying and lets forget getting bail to get married. This case just shows us what money can buy

@@thedesistudios i will also advice your team that you should introspect your podcast channel , i am firm sure that the chai and chithi episodes were not numbered in the regular podcasts very similarly to the thug life episodes and now they are given a number . So all the chai chithi epispdes are framed again as regular episodes .

the way you said it that you won't be a witness in such situation however the way you said you feel shitty about the autobiography of such a great advocate I understand he had always protected the criminals, tbh it is the law every accused has a right to be presented or to have his part to be tell their side of the story and if this advocate is there he has been truly doing his job..I love your podcast guys but there is no sense of making such comments on Indian judiciary..for instance if in case you're being accused of something and you have that amount of money to have one of the best lawyer you will make sure that you get that sorted out for you!
