There's a video of him driving around yelling "do a kickflip" at random skaters and it's actually pretty surprising how many of them don't know who he is.
Or the story of him at airport security and the agent comments how his name is like the skate boarder but doesn't realise.

He loves his life and spends everyday doing stuff he enjoys and ages well because of it.
He's active and healthy, and has been lucky to not have too much of a receding hairline.

His little rant and anecdote about Wikipedia was hilarious.
He's not wrong though. Although, what you can edit really depends on the article (e.g. if it's protected etc.). Sometimes it feels I'm denied of adding legitimate information because one old source is now contradicting my edit and then sometimes I can make people's nicknames up by myself.
@@Nikkeloodeon there was a german politician with a long as name (someone with aristocrat background into the middleages or sth), who had a name with like 7-8 "words" in it. and someone edited 2 more into it and nobody noticed for some time, until a newspaper falsely used the wrong wikipedia name there xD

@@Nikkeloodeon my experience with editing wikipedia is that for every subject there are a handful of overzealous gatekeepers constantly sterilizing the content according to their own definition of what is acceptable.

He is the entire reason I started skateboarding 20 years ago at the age of 7 years old and still skate to this day and actually own a skateboard company

Tony Hawk is the dude of dudes. He constantly supports skating, understands where he is, but has the humbleness to always give tips to a skater of any level. There is no one else alive in my opinion that pushes an art/sport as hard as he does, but also understands the level the art form is. Tony Hawk is a legitimate legend, and would not accept being called one. I love you Tony Hawk.

@@bonphone4222 its probably more on the fact that most celebrities dont reply to tweets or interact on social media, and if they do its probably someone hired specifically manage their social media or they are being guided or advised on what to say. Him being "undercover" is more like people probably dont know it's actually him answering these until they see the video.

I never got into skating but i did hang out with a few and they were some of the chillest people i have ever known
I'm glad Tony's favorite game is Pro Skater 2. That's always been my favorite of the series, it really took all the aspects of the first game and just took it to all new levels. It really just did everything right.

I’m 40 and haven’t seriously touched a skateboard in 25 years. Still drawn to anything Tony Hawk and X-Games. I can remember how skateboarding was before both.
He’s so important. He’s the reason I begged for a skateboard for my birthday and then gave it up after two months.

I love that his favorite Tony Hawk game is #2. It may not have the manual ability to keep a run going indefinitely like in #3, but it's the one that I grew up on though and it's my personal favorite. It's a bit slower than #3 and for me it feels just right.
I'd love to see Tony enter a comp at 51.

Ability wise probably not the best skater ever but he is such a great spoke person and ambassador for skating. I'm glad he's the skater that has the most attention and the most marketed, can't think of a better dude.

Hawk was specifically speaking about skateboarding. And there is no objectiv scaling for it. You don't have something measurable like speed, time, heigh or distance in it. Of course there is a fastest one in sprinting.
they say if you want to master anything it takes 10,000 hours. Tony calculated 25k hours that's insane huge props to that dedication.

I like how Tony Hawk always says he started skateboarding when skateboarding wasn't popular. What he forgets to say is that his father was the president of some skateboarding Association which gave him the opportunity to skate at Skate Parks everyday. A few years after that they tore down all the skateparks. In my opinion Tony Hawk was born at the perfect time for skateboarding.
