I know Gen 5 remakes are coming and it has me so worried. Gen 5 is my favorite and I've been looking forward to seeing them be remade but not after what happened with BDSP. The best I can hope for is a Legends game.
Pokemon Legends Arceus was the only Switch Pokemon game I enjoyed! Pokemon Scarlet was good story wise and characters including New Pokemon. And Soul I would reccomend checking out the Monster Taming Genre as a whole Gym Leader Ed covers the genre! There r great games in the genre like Yo-Kai Watch,Fossil Fighters(I am a fan as u can tell),Monster Sanctuary,Nexomon,Coromon,and more. Plus the Pokemon Spinoffs becoming Mobile is the worst thing honestly to happen because I know if Pokemon Ranger would come back it would be mobile game I hope I'm wrong!😭
I don’t think I ever considered the possibility of rangers being a mobile game, that would work so much easier than a switch game I fear 😭 Loved fossil fighters as a kid, and I’ve really considered Yo-Kai-Watch a lot, I just never got around too it

My pipedream wish for this year for Pokemon is more updates for Scarlet and Violet. I'm not talking about another paid dlc expansion. I mean more frequent free updates that add more returning Pokemon into the games as spawns for certain pre-existing areas and raids. Maybe even a couple small extra quality of life features like an actual Battle Tower like feature for the BB Academy. I just want all my favorite Pokemon together in one game again.😢

My bet is Gen 10 being on the Switch, not some new system. That's what they did in Gen 5 and Gen 7; they usually wait to put out a Pokemon on a new system until it has an install base.
Im being honest, I really want another spin off title more than anything. Give the main series a break! And legends arceus is considered a main series game btw. So i dont want a legendeds celebi yet. I want a pokepark revival. A new mystery dungeon game. Freaking POKEMON CONQUEST 2. A lot of these hasnt seen a remaster in 10+ years and i think they deserve a shot at the spotlight. Heres to hoping.
Also to add. People are overhyping Palworld becasue pokemon has gotten stale. A spin off game would break the cycle by giving us something new to work with for a year or two while the main series games have more time to develop
Pokemon conquest 2 would be amazing, i would love to get that and i wouldn't mind if it had the same graphics as it's predecessor, because i love how Pokemon Conquest looks art wise
I think that unfortunately 2024, 2025, or whenever the next Generation comes might be the first time I haven’t bought a Pokemon game or played the newest game. I’ve been playing every new Pokemon game since 2006 when I got my first Nintendo DS with a copy of Pokemon Pearl. However dedicating myself to every new mainline game and every new generation means that I’ve been getting fatigued with the franchise. I just can’t keep up anymore. There’s now over 1,000 of them. I haven’t even finished the Indigo Disk DLC. It just might be time for me to finally take a break from Pokemon. I just can’t keep up anymore. Especially when $95 ended up not being worth it in the end. I did enjoy Scarlet and Violet, but there was something about it that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I think it’s important that we need to look at ourselves in the mirror and ask “Is Generation 10 worth it?”.
I agree they should definitely give it another year to marinate that next game and I REALLY hope they do. But I’m not getting my hopes up like I did before BDSP got announced. If anything I think they should just announce that they’re updating Scarlet and Violet to support the rest of the Pokémon not currently transferable to the game. MAYBE another little mythical side quest would be cool but that’s it
Would it be copious to say that not putting out games annually & having breaks would actually increase their sales by a little bit in the long run cuz then people will have more money saved up in their piggy banks to buy the games without hesitation? Like LA came out 2 months after BDSP, which might've slightly lowered its sales.

The switch came out in 2017 but we didn't get pokemon on it until 2018. Even if we get a new Switch this year it might not be until 2025 for Pokemon on it
Yeah, Gamefreak has gone on the record in the past saying they wait 2 years to see the success of the new console before formatting to it. I'm sure some of the work is done in advance but LGPE was their first title on Switch in 2019, if Switch 2 somehow comes, it would be unprecedented if Gamefreak gave us a game for that system before 2026.
LGPE at least had no glitches, full fidelity, gave us the best iteration of following Pokemon with only synchro mode in SV DLC actually making that 2019 entry better, had battle backgrounds, tried to innovate the battle system, offered Master trainer challenges, and re-wrote Kanto history. It doesn't deserve to be put in the same category as a game that needed to patch in the music on day 1. One was designed to catch the attention of certain kinds of players and was made with polish and care. The other was made by ILCA who had never made a full title video game before. There's a world of a difference.
I know a lot of people have been saying it but, I want them to do gens 1-3 on nso I know a few people in my personal life who have said they would get nso solely if they had gens 1-3 on it if they aren't doing a remake or new game this year they could still do that but I'm trying to keep my expectations in check.

Slaves to a franchise. I want the next game to be good quality, but when I saw the sales numbers for S&V, I knew the majority of customers in the future won’t have standards to say no to (potentially) another broken game(s)
I'm not a big Pokemon fan, but now it would be the best if they let enough time to the next game. The first Pokemon game I played was Sword and it was a huge disappointment, it felt like a half made game. I read Adventures and watched Journey, both of them was really good. Scarlet and Violet released in a bad condition and I heard the main problem was they made to many console game at the same time. So if they focus on the mobile games and the card game, let them enough time to make the next main game the best possible and think Pokemon is a franchise which really deserves well made games.
I don't want Gen 10 unless they take their sweet time in developing it. Maybe just wait until the new console roll around and have a better understanding first. At this point I want Pokken Tournament 2 since Fighting games are in a good place right now. But unfortunately lots of people including lots of Pokémon fans don't do fighting game and Pokken didn't sell well which I hated.
Honestly I'm actually really excited, I love the direction Pokemon has been heading in and quite frankly if they can fix the technical issues for future Pokemon games then I think we'll be golden (there's been rumblings they might be switching to Unreal Engine development, which might address those issues), and I definitely think Game Freak have heard the response and will want to make sure they can improve, people do not give them enough credit but they do in fact listen and they do care what people think and want to make people happy. And at the same time we don't KNOW what is coming this year and that on it's own is very exciting, like we can speculate (Legends? Let's Go? Remake? or maybe something entirely unique altogether, with Game Freak you never really know) but we just don't know for sure, and I think there's a lot of potential, I'm also hoping for another surprise in the upcoming presents aside from a new main game like PMD though after last year i'm not holding my breath for that one sadly... but it would be great if we got a new PMD, it's been far too long.
If pokemon decides to take a break this year, it will give me a chance to play some of the older games and catch up on those. It will be interesting to see what they announce on pokemon day. I hope to hear good news! It would make my day, that it would, to hear some good news from the pokemon company. I'll try not to get my hopes up too high, as per usual. Have a great day!
After the huge success of competitors like Palworld, it would look even more pathetic if Pokemon Day concentrated on games service nonsense that no Pokemon fan cares about. This is the time to reveal Johto Legends game or tease the next gen. Something to actually excite people.
Palworld is not a competitor though. The last pokémon release is at 25 million lol palworld isn't likely going to reach those numbers. Plus it's a completely different type of game. Pokémon fans will not flock to palworld because it has a few similar looking creatures.
I desperately want them to branch out into more styles of games. Do a survival game or a RPG with actual branching stories and some kind of autonomy, a breeding game, a pokemon hospital game (would probably be a mobil game) pokemon horror game would be awsome (never going to happen). I want anything that isnt the same game over and over again.
I also would really like some high Pokemom games as well. I also would be ok if they announced nothing as well. my worst fear would be that they announced Gen 10 this year. Not saying it will happen but given the track record with how rushed gen 9 was...I wouldn't put it past them. but I hope not. I also don't care for the Pokemon card games or mobile games....yeah I hope the Pokemon presents is better than last year...and doesn't feature a creepy CGi Pikachu that looks dead inside lol.
I just finished some of BDSP's post game and the story of Legends. I havent even touched Scarlet & Violet yet because there's still so much for me to do. Now I'm seeing all the "NeW MaIN SeRIes GaME :0 !?" videos or Unova remakes rumors. With how every switch title that isn't named Let's Go felt super incomplete and rushed. Even Legends, while being a breath of fresh air, still felt lacking in some places. Live Services seem to be the future of spin off titles because of how easy it is to make constant money from new updates instead of a game who's interest dies overtime. I do not want a new game because I haven't even gotten to SV yet and I still haven't fully completed Arceus.
I'd be okay for Pokémon not to release a mainline-game (including remakes/Legends) in 2024. Instead I could see a spin-off game like a Mystery Dungeon (and if then hopefully a new one with new Gen7-9 Pokémon as characters and new story. The last one 'Super Mystery Dungeon' is almost a decade old and the DX remake is meh if you've played and loved the OG, so I don't really want a Explorers remake) or Ranger (would be a blast if it'd return and I absolutely could see it on the Switch [using the wireless controller for drawing circles]). Both have a strong fan-base, so it'd sell.
To be honest I don’t look at quality that much anymore because older games looks my grandmas old android graphics so I really can’t say anything bad graphic wise but this year I’m ver positive that we’ll get something good cause I understand we fell like it’s being rushed but we really don’t know how much effort and how much work they putting into this. Also I think the focus on storyline a lot more in some things but they also try to make it more interesting and new and I feel as Pokémon fans we should just appreciate the fact they even cared enough to even add anything at all. They didn’t have to make legends of arceus but the did because they cared enough to do it and making a game is not an easy task especially for one that’s going world wide so it has to be perfect and the only downside of this I see is if they try to make a spin-off game that has something to do with completion like I want something like dungeons or as some legendary Pokémon that adventures in some region or maybe an already existing one like kanto or unova. Over all spin -off games just need more thought out into them. But really I think this can be a good year if they think carefully about what they put out.
Will it though? If we don't get anything this year they'll still push for gen 10 next year. So that'd be no different from S/V. Gen 5 was likely handed off to another company.. the only game that could possibly profit is a legends game, if they plan on doing another one. They've shown they don't intend to stop their publishing speed.. but maybe they learned their lesson and started outsourcing a lot more. Pal world's success hopefully kicked them in the butt too.

@@tonybrewer7536 because we’ve gone the longest without a Johto game vs. any other region? Same reason we got LGPE in 2018. Kanto had not been visited since 2004, then Sinnoh, next is Johto, then Unova, and so on.

No I totally agree, its not that Iilca is a bad company by any means, but Pokemon Company is so demanding that they were probably breathing down their necks in order to rush out BDSP, it could have been way better if they had actual time 😭

I'm not excited *because* we're pretty much confirmed to get a Gen 5 remake and I don't expect it to be good thanks to BDSP's remake. But Unova is one of my favorite regions so it's just gonna hurt me. My biggest wish is a 3rd DLC for SV, it would make up for the RIDICULOUSLY short lifetime of PLA and give them more time, they really need more time to work on these games. ...Which seems to be the opposite of what you're saying in some ways but we have the same spirit on the matter of taking an easy extra year off. Though considering leaks, uhh, I think you're not gonna have a good time with dating this video.
if not b&w remakes, ScarVi sequels, or new Legends games... i'd rather have them go back with updates for PLA and BDSP... like... a free Platinum update/event for BDSP and a DLC for PLA... i just don't think they'll be revisiting those games though.

It'll age better when the games come out in November and the quality has dipped so much that you can't even actually play them because there's bugs that prevent them from actually opening.
If gamefreak is releasing a game this year, it’ll be trash. Next gen needs to release 2026 or later and nothing earlier. If any game is being released, it better be spin-offs and even that is too much. Pokémon as a whole needs a year or two where people can not be fatigue and make meaningful and good games again. If it’s been over a decade of bad games, a change needs to happen
It is said that Youkai Watch made TPCI rethink about Pokémon before SM came to be. Pokémon should have been made with anime graphics, and have sex dimorphic characters-no matter how Japanese the series is. Time and money should have been used for quality over quantity. It worked for the Mario, Zelda, Kirby, and Metroid games.
As the biggest and most profitable franchise in the history of mankind, they really should be putting out products that are better. There is no excuse.

I didn't like bdsp, legends, or scarlet and violet at all. That's a lot of money to spend on games I don't like. So I'm very nervous about what's next. I've always loved playing the mainline games, so it's extremely disappointing that they can't make good games anymore. (I understand that popular opinions are different from mine.)
Especially BDSP. Legends is tolerable. Scarlet Violet is just another X and Y in "dissapointment". But BDSP? Nah I dont want it, why would any sane person would want a faithful remake that borderline remaster of buggy and worst versions in gen 4 (my most hated gen and where I started on). At least made a remake of Platinum and call it Magnificent Platinum.
I dont hate Chibi style but I dont like it either. Since its remake, why dont they made it 3D at least like SwSh or XY where you move the camera. In BDSP, it just half assed 3d chibi with 2d maps. I remember stuck finding climbable rock in a certain beach town of Sinnoh because they covered by the building...

Ya, after Pursuit and my partner Silvally was denied access into Scarlet/Violet not to mention each Pokemon Game is getting worse and worse, I've pretty much decided to stop being a Pokemon Fan, keeping only Pokemon Home on my Phone to serve as a reminder on how much of a failure GameFreak and The Pokemon Company has become.
To me it seems a Johto ILCA game is a no-brainer for this year. Spinoff-wise uhhhhh Mystery Dungeon? no? really? urgh ok guess I'll go kek myself And I sure hope the next big mainline is in 2026 if it's to be on the new console. not because I'm worryful for the quality of the games, but because I sure as hell won't have the console in 2025 even if it releases lol
I just hope that they take their time to develop a good game on the new console that runs good looks good and every pokemon has unique animations for each move this would be absolutely awesome and they should bring back mega Evolution and get rid of this shity dynamax stuff
The only reasonable thing that I could actually get excited for would be let’s go Jhoto. I loved the lets go games. The art style was great and the wild encounter and shiny hunting mechanics were also awesome. They streamlined the Kanto experience while making it more beautiful than ever and letting us ride a large handful of our own pokemon. If I could change anything about it, I would include held items, EVs rather than AVs, make exp Share toggle-able and I would make egg hatching a thing I played mostly in handheld so didn’t Mind the pokeball throwing mechanics (tilting the screen and pressing A) but I would also include pro-controller options and non-motion control options for both handheld and docked modes. But even without those fixes I would probably still buy the game so long as they don’t change existing mechanics for the worse. Aside from that, I truely don’t see myself spending money on Pokémon in the coming year. Any legends game or s/v expansion would inevitably be half baked.
I still really like how the games are but I know I will be like everyone else in the future that wants the Pokémon company to do better the only problem I had is with scarlet and violet and how some objects and npc and Pokémon were moving to slow and how some people were experiencing glitches like going under the map I was surprised because we never had that problem before so I’m hoping the next games will not have that problem
Gamefreaks problem isn’t even necessarily the time they pump their games out in. The time frame wouldn’t be bad if the games were actually good. The problem is they have very little manpower and crunching on top of that. Not to mention that little manpower isn’t even skilled at developing modern mechanics. Most AAA game studios will have several hundred to a thousand people working on a single game, where gamefreak has at most 70-80 working on theirs. They need to increase their manpower by a minimum of 5x, ideally 10x if they want to keep up their current schedule, and try to just make the games good. If they did they could truly have the best video games of all time.
in hoping gamefreak, the pokemon company & nintendo are taking notes on palworld’s success If they put as much passion into the development of their next title, it could have a good successful lifespan But as it stands now with the disappointment of how broken and buggy V&S was I have my high doubts the next installment will be any better

TCG is fun when you have balanced decks. Play PTCG Live, you come trying new deck, a lot of people playing with meta deck copied off some championship in casual mode. Especially tsareena ex. definitely not fun to play against, and got matched back to back to back and another back. f that shet. Pokemon go is annoying. a lot of pokemon can only be found in pokemon go, and it's not even playable in every country. gps always broken too. I actually did like scarlet violet. but this is the first game I play since XY. and I bought it 1 year after the release of scarlet and violet. so there wasn't any bug and performance is quite ok, and I paid 2nd hand price. The quality of life is definitely the best. I think they will just milking off another remake for the remaining year. Put few legendaries, sub legendaries and mythical that's not accessible because of the 3ds store closing down, in the game so you can get it legitly. Because even if they don't people will still get those one way or another.
I hope Pokémon goes for an edgy vibe at some point again. Legends Arceus was a step in the right direction considering you play as a teenager and Pokémon can hurt you, but as an adult that grew up with this franchise I’m tired of playing as a kid and playing through half assed childish stories. (And yes I’m aware of how business works and why corporations cater to children)
I think the next game might actually take a sales hit due to palworld. Will it kill it? no. That would be a stupid belief. But I think I could see it contributing to a breaking point if the next game looks bad. Now that millions got a taste of what pokemon could've been all along, why would they want to play another lame ilca remake or legends arceus in different bland locations (no way is 2 years enough to improve much from the previous one). "But the kids!" Gaming demographics are consistently getting older, plus if palworld keeps up momentum online I could imagine some kids being more excited for it instead. Even if the game dies in a week, I hope the essence of what pokemon could be hovers over their heads until we finally get pokemon's first REAL 3d game.

Well, if we see the record that started from gen 6 to 9, I can see why they might disappointed. The only things that pokemon franchise never messed up badly among all others is music. That's only thing I trust It will go better, for everything else I just hope they not being worse from this gen and prior gens...

Im being honest, I really want another spin off title more than anything. Give the main series a break! And legends arceus is considered a main series game btw. So i dont want a legendeds celebi yet. I want a pokepark revival. A new mystery dungeon game. Freaking POKEMON CONQUEST 2. A lot of these hasnt seen a remaster in 10+ years and i think they deserve a shot at the spotlight. Also to add. People are overhyping Palworld becasue pokemon has gotten stale. A spin off game would break the cycle by giving us something new to work with for a year or two while the main series games have more time to develop

I think that unfortunately 2024, 2025, or whenever the next Generation comes might be the first time I haven’t bought a Pokemon game or played the newest game. I’ve been playing every new Pokemon game since 2006 when I got my first Nintendo DS with a copy of Pokemon Pearl. However dedicating myself to every new mainline game and every new generation means that I’ve been getting fatigued with the franchise. I just can’t keep up anymore. There’s now over 1,000 of them. I haven’t even finished the Indigo Disk DLC. It just might be time for me to finally take a break from Pokemon. I just can’t keep up anymore. Especially when $95 ended up not being worth it in the end. I did enjoy Scarlet and Violet, but there was something about it that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I think it’s important that we need to look at ourselves in the mirror and ask “Is Generation 10 worth it?”.
I agree they should definitely give it another year to marinate that next game and I REALLY hope they do. But I’m not getting my hopes up like I did before BDSP got announced. If anything I think they should just announce that they’re updating Scarlet and Violet to support the rest of the Pokémon not currently transferable to the game. MAYBE another little mythical side quest would be cool but that’s it

The switch came out in 2017 but we didn't get pokemon on it until 2018. Even if we get a new Switch this year it might not be until 2025 for Pokemon on it
Yeah, Gamefreak has gone on the record in the past saying they wait 2 years to see the success of the new console before formatting to it. I'm sure some of the work is done in advance but LGPE was their first title on Switch in 2019, if Switch 2 somehow comes, it would be unprecedented if Gamefreak gave us a game for that system before 2026.

LGPE at least had no glitches, full fidelity, gave us the best iteration of following Pokemon with only synchro mode in SV DLC actually making that 2019 entry better, had battle backgrounds, tried to innovate the battle system, offered Master trainer challenges, and re-wrote Kanto history.
It doesn't deserve to be put in the same category as a game that needed to patch in the music on day 1. One was designed to catch the attention of certain kinds of players and was made with polish and care. The other was made by ILCA who had never made a full title video game before. There's a world of a difference.

I know a lot of people have been saying it but, I want them to do gens 1-3 on nso I know a few people in my personal life who have said they would get nso solely if they had gens 1-3 on it if they aren't doing a remake or new game this year they could still do that but I'm trying to keep my expectations in check.

I'm not a big Pokemon fan, but now it would be the best if they let enough time to the next game. The first Pokemon game I played was Sword and it was a huge disappointment, it felt like a half made game. I read Adventures and watched Journey, both of them was really good. Scarlet and Violet released in a bad condition and I heard the main problem was they made to many console game at the same time. So if they focus on the mobile games and the card game, let them enough time to make the next main game the best possible and think Pokemon is a franchise which really deserves well made games.
I don't want Gen 10 unless they take their sweet time in developing it. Maybe just wait until the new console roll around and have a better understanding first. At this point I want Pokken Tournament 2 since Fighting games are in a good place right now. But unfortunately lots of people including lots of Pokémon fans don't do fighting game and Pokken didn't sell well which I hated.
Still gonna keep my hopes up that they’ll finally listen one day. And hopefully that day is a month from now.

Honestly I'm actually really excited, I love the direction Pokemon has been heading in and quite frankly if they can fix the technical issues for future Pokemon games then I think we'll be golden (there's been rumblings they might be switching to Unreal Engine development, which might address those issues), and I definitely think Game Freak have heard the response and will want to make sure they can improve, people do not give them enough credit but they do in fact listen and they do care what people think and want to make people happy. And at the same time we don't KNOW what is coming this year and that on it's own is very exciting, like we can speculate (Legends? Let's Go? Remake? or maybe something entirely unique altogether, with Game Freak you never really know) but we just don't know for sure, and I think there's a lot of potential, I'm also hoping for another surprise in the upcoming presents aside from a new main game like PMD though after last year i'm not holding my breath for that one sadly... but it would be great if we got a new PMD, it's been far too long.

I desperately want them to branch out into more styles of games. Do a survival game or a RPG with actual branching stories and some kind of autonomy, a breeding game, a pokemon hospital game (would probably be a mobil game) pokemon horror game would be awsome (never going to happen). I want anything that isnt the same game over and over again.
I also would really like some high Pokemom games as well. I also would be ok if they announced nothing as well. my worst fear would be that they announced Gen 10 this year. Not saying it will happen but given the track record with how rushed gen 9 was...I wouldn't put it past them. but I hope not. I also don't care for the Pokemon card games or mobile games....yeah I hope the Pokemon presents is better than last year...and doesn't feature a creepy CGi Pikachu that looks dead inside lol.

I just finished some of BDSP's post game and the story of Legends. I havent even touched Scarlet & Violet yet because there's still so much for me to do. Now I'm seeing all the "NeW MaIN SeRIes GaME :0 !?" videos or Unova remakes rumors. With how every switch title that isn't named Let's Go felt super incomplete and rushed. Even Legends, while being a breath of fresh air, still felt lacking in some places. Live Services seem to be the future of spin off titles because of how easy it is to make constant money from new updates instead of a game who's interest dies overtime. I do not want a new game because I haven't even gotten to SV yet and I still haven't fully completed Arceus.

I'd be okay for Pokémon not to release a mainline-game (including remakes/Legends) in 2024. Instead I could see a spin-off game like a Mystery Dungeon (and if then hopefully a new one with new Gen7-9 Pokémon as characters and new story. The last one 'Super Mystery Dungeon' is almost a decade old and the DX remake is meh if you've played and loved the OG, so I don't really want a Explorers remake) or Ranger (would be a blast if it'd return and I absolutely could see it on the Switch [using the wireless controller for drawing circles]). Both have a strong fan-base, so it'd sell.
To be honest I don’t look at quality that much anymore because older games looks my grandmas old android graphics so I really can’t say anything bad graphic wise but this year I’m ver positive that we’ll get something good cause I understand we fell like it’s being rushed but we really don’t know how much effort and how much work they putting into this. Also I think the focus on storyline a lot more in some things but they also try to make it more interesting and new and I feel as Pokémon fans we should just appreciate the fact they even cared enough to even add anything at all. They didn’t have to make legends of arceus but the did because they cared enough to do it and making a game is not an easy task especially for one that’s going world wide so it has to be perfect and the only downside of this I see is if they try to make a spin-off game that has something to do with completion like I want something like dungeons or as some legendary Pokémon that adventures in some region or maybe an already existing one like kanto or unova. Over all spin -off games just need more thought out into them. But really I think this can be a good year if they think carefully about what they put out.

You should be excited because the most likely scenario is we get a Legends: Johto game. It's time for Johto. Unova will be next year by ILCA or whatever, and then Gen 10 is 2026.

I'm not excited *because* we're pretty much confirmed to get a Gen 5 remake and I don't expect it to be good thanks to BDSP's remake. But Unova is one of my favorite regions so it's just gonna hurt me. My biggest wish is a 3rd DLC for SV, it would make up for the RIDICULOUSLY short lifetime of PLA and give them more time, they really need more time to work on these games.

If gamefreak is releasing a game this year, it’ll be trash. Next gen needs to release 2026 or later and nothing earlier. If any game is being released, it better be spin-offs and even that is too much. Pokémon as a whole needs a year or two where people can not be fatigue and make meaningful and good games again. Pokémon should have been made with anime graphics, and have sex dimorphic characters-no matter how Japanese the series is. Time and money should have been used for quality over quantity. I didn't like bdsp, legends, or scarlet and violet at all. That's a lot of money to spend on games I don't like. So I'm very nervous about what's next. I've always loved playing the mainline games, so it's extremely disappointing that they can't make good games anymore. (I understand that popular opinions are different from mine.)

The only reasonable thing that I could actually get excited for would be let’s go Jhoto. I loved the lets go games. The art style was great and the wild encounter and shiny hunting mechanics were also awesome. They streamlined the Kanto experience while making it more beautiful than ever and letting us ride a large handful of our own pokemon. If I could change anything about it, I would include held items, EVs rather than AVs, make exp Share toggle-able and I would make egg hatching a thing I played mostly in handheld so didn’t Mind the pokeball throwing mechanics (tilting the screen and pressing A) but I would also include pro-controller options and non-motion control options for both handheld and docked modes. But even without those fixes I would probably still buy the game so long as they don’t change existing mechanics for the worse.
Aside from that, I truely don’t see myself spending money on Pokémon in the coming year. Any legends game or s/v expansion would inevitably be half baked.
I still really like how the games are but I know I will be like everyone else in the future that wants the Pokémon company to do better the only problem I had is with scarlet and violet and how some objects and npc and Pokémon were moving to slow and how some people were experiencing glitches like going under the map I was surprised because we never had that problem before so I’m hoping the next games will not have that problem
Take a break from the mainline games for this year so they can be polished and not run like shit and just give us ports of gens 1-3 and I’ll be happy.

Gamefreaks problem isn’t even necessarily the time they pump their games out in. The time frame wouldn’t be bad if the games were actually good. The problem is they have very little manpower and crunching on top of that. Not to mention that little manpower isn’t even skilled at developing modern mechanics. Most AAA game studios will have several hundred to a thousand people working on a single game, where gamefreak has at most 70-80 working on theirs. They need to increase their manpower by a minimum of 5x, ideally 10x if they want to keep up their current schedule, and try to just make the games good. If they did they could truly have the best video games of all time.
The problem is casuals will buy it no matter what so they won’t change anything

TCG is fun when you have balanced decks. Play PTCG Live, you come trying new deck, a lot of people playing with meta deck copied off some championship in casual mode. Especially tsareena ex. definitely not fun to play against, and got matched back to back to back and another back. f that shet.
Pokemon go is annoying. a lot of pokemon can only be found in pokemon go, and it's not even playable in every country. gps always broken too.
I actually did like scarlet violet. but this is the first game I play since XY. and I bought it 1 year after the release of scarlet and violet. so there wasn't any bug and performance is quite ok, and I paid 2nd hand price. The quality of life is definitely the best.
I think they will just milking off another remake for the remaining year. Put few legendaries, sub legendaries and mythical that's not accessible because of the 3ds store closing down, in the game so you can get it legitly. Because even if they don't people will still get those one way or another.
I hope Pokémon goes for an edgy vibe at some point again. Legends Arceus was a step in the right direction considering you play as a teenager and Pokémon can hurt you, but as an adult that grew up with this franchise I’m tired of playing as a kid and playing through half assed childish stories. (And yes I’m aware of how business works and why corporations cater to children)

I think the next game might actually take a sales hit due to palworld. Will it kill it? no. That would be a stupid belief. But I think I could see it contributing to a breaking point if the next game looks bad. Now that millions got a taste of what pokemon could've been all along, why would they want to play another lame ilca remake or legends arceus in different bland locations (no way is 2 years enough to improve much from the previous one). "But the kids!" Gaming demographics are consistently getting older, plus if palworld keeps up momentum online I could imagine some kids being more excited for it instead. Even if the game dies in a week, I hope the essence of what pokemon could be hovers over their heads until we finally get pokemon's first REAL 3d game.
