  • Buckle up! It’s the Bassmaster Classic Mega Show. It’s episode 154 and we have Justin Hamner; the winner of the 54th Bassmaster Classic. Yep! We planned that from the start. Well, maybe not, but Justin Hamner did predict his win on this show two weeks ago. Hamner returns with some incredible behind-the-scenes stories. But first we have another edition of Jake’s Take with Bassmaster Videographer Jake Latendresse. This episode is like a good movie- we laugh, we cry and everything in between.
Let’s help the new champ out first by messaging Milos and telling them to partner with Justin Hamner

Just starting the episode, but i wanted to give you some props Dave for how you handed the mic failure. I was lucky enough to be there in person. I was feeling anxious for you . As a musician, I've dealt with that kind of stuff before, but never in front of that many people. There's a reason you have your job. Quite the pro.

You are so right Jake! Hamner is the perfect Champion. Being media at the classic, seeing Hamners win was so rewarding. It would have been good had anyone won but Hamner makes you feel like your sharing his victory. So good.
As far as Cooper goes we interviewed him at Fork and he was so kind. You can't help but root for a guy like that.

I've always admired the sunflower painting and I really like it allot better now. Also I really enjoy Jake's take. Like really enjoy Jake's take it really makes my intake when watching B.A.S.S. a different experience and it's worth now putting in time to watch because knowing Jake is in one of those boats and we're going to get a full breakdown of whatever boats he's on and his take is definitely worth listing to. Thanks Dave

Justin is so homegrown, it’s perfect. Humble, respectful, grateful. He will be able to use this win as a stepping stone for more victories to come. I’ve enjoyed watching him over the past few years and he just wreaks of appreciation. It’s refreshing. He could step on stage and complain about making a check, oh onto the next one I guess, oh I got a few points I guess…. but he doesn’t, he smiles and moves on like every person with passion for bass does and should do. Thanks for being you, Justin. All you have wanted is in reach now….grab it ALL 👊👊

Awesome podcast! I started watching pro fishing when the split happened because a local baitshop was advertising the MLF, so naturally i started watching that and couldnt watch the elites because i didnt know anyone. Had no idea who these people were. I started paying attention when Jay P. Was a rookie because he is local to me. Since then i loved watching all the new guys coming up. In the past I had hoped Justin would get more polished with time, but now I realize he has a very cool mode of operation.

I’ve seen so many emotional moments on stage and the podcast yet I’ve never seen u get choked up once…. I got a new nick name for yah Dave. “The emotionless Dave Mercer”. Fantastic show per usual lol.

This was a great episode! I think the time was fine for a special episode but maybe split in two for regular episodes. And yes I DM’d Milo’s!

Rebel, the Bait company had the first boat in the first tournament due to Ranger having a fire at their warehouse. Ranger was the second year.

I think for the show following the Bassmaster Classic, the longer show is appropriate. Especially if you have the Classic Champ.

Great podcast!!!!!! Why can people like Randy Buckethead not respect and appreciate the accomplishments of these young men and there supporting families and friends????? He should be ashamed of his relentless assault. Just had to get that off my chest. Great stuff Dave!!

One thing about the argument against FFS that people aren't considering when comparing fishing to other sports is that all other sports aren't going after a living creature. I don't have Ffs but I support it because as sports change, competitors should change. Time on the water dialing in the equipment is key.

Great episode as soon as he won I was like can’t wait until he’s back on Mercer! Half way though I thought man these 2 are meant for each other they should do more podcasts and then boom! Yall decide to do it monthly. Milo’s magnet… Justin on the couch with A bottle of tea in Matt robertsons fur coat 😂😂.

Mega show was great, keep bringing Justin back every month if you can after each Elite event. But generally think a shorter show is better, don't have time to to watch the longer except maybe once a quarter. Keep up the great content, Thanks!
