Thanks for the positivity Dave! We all know why some people bring their negative rants (one particular guy comes to mind 😆) it’s because their normal content doesn’t get any views and his controversial rants get 100x views (even made several videos specifically to say this 🤦♂️). Loved your open to this week's show. You have THE best fishing podcast there is. I'm a fan of Chris Zaldain but I only watch them now for certain guests because ALL they do is stir up the drama. I just wanna hear about fishing and people's lives which is what you do so well on your show! On another note, after YEARS of just announcing KVD's life, you get to compete with him now! not for blue trophies; but ratings! haha Just kidding, i'm sure there's many people like me who try to sit down, tune in for Zona, Pro Team Journal, Facts of Fishing, Lindner's Angling Edge, and will just add KVD's show to the mix. Agree about the drama stuff. It's very easy to find the stuff. We don't need another podcast to cover it. Thanks for being you. Funny story about KVD. I worked at Gander Mountain in 2016 in the fishing department, and a supervisor found out I didn't know what KVD stood for. All of my coworkers laughed at me, rightfully so. Nowadays, I can probably name 100 pro bass anglers and a bunch of pro walleye anglers. 😂

Absolutely a great show! I agree with you Dave. I’m not a professional angler by no means I do like the pleasure Fish and I do some tournament fishing. The reason I do 90% of it is because I just enjoy being out there to get away from the grind of the daily life, pressures, drama, negativity. And so to all the ones who are doing the Negative podcast just to get the views, mostly they are just money driven. They do have a right to their opinion, but what they are doing by spreading all the negativity is really driving people away. Keep rolling on with what you’re doing brother and the way you’re doing it. ! You and KVD are absolutely the best ! !😎🎣

My fishing world is great. I fish with a great kayak club in NW Arkansas. Went to my first Classic a week or so ago. Fishing a tournament on beautiful Tenkiller this weekend. I'm about to have a drink and listen to KVD and Mercer. Fishing life is good. As far as FFS goes, why don't we do half tournaments with and half without? Seems like a compromise everyone can be happy with. And certain people can stop saying that some of these new guys can't catch em without technology because I believe most of them can get it done either way.

I dont think we should avoid the controversy. These things need discussed. Bass fishing ethics really need a check. Its a lot of take take take. I loved when GMan asked "what have you done to make fishing better". We all need to ask ourselves that from time to time.

NO FFS AT ALL! Grow the fan base at whos expense....the traditional angler...you other problems with local lakes seeing increases at their boat launches accidents on the water hotdogging....tournaments and bass anglers out the community are starting to look frowned upon. Kevin is right the cost is becoming prohibited.....the barriers of the entry are real. I am glad he spoke his mind....he sees whats happening as do I.

To make the sport better, we have to tackle tough topics. We have to protect our fisheries and our forests to the best of our abilities.
I totally agree, that’s why this podcast is so honest. My issue is with people that only talk about the negative stuff to drive traffic. I don’t think I avoid any topics however I don’t spend time chasing negative click getting topics.

The difference in bass fishing is simple. The anglers PAY to be able to enter a tournament. They are CUSTOMERS of the sanctioning body’s. All the sponsors are based on performance, but anglers BUY their way into to each event. VS the NFL, MLB,ect… your skills get you into the door.
How about FFS in practice but not in the tournament?

The reason FFS is a big deal
to the common man it's unaffordable I am saving to get one but it will take awhile.
I for one like to watch it but I also like to watch people catch fish. AND if BASS goes to catch, weight,release I am done watching tournament fishing (my opinion) Awesome show Dave

Kevin.....Looking at FFS you can tell he is concerned. 2D/Side Imaging-360 OK.....Get rid of spot lock/anchor.....no FFS during the tournament. The problem is you need none electronics sponsors.....no sharing information from competitors....no 50K electronics....limit it two electronics only.
I know i,m late commenting but im right there with you.
The sport that i grew up on and love has currently turned to $hit. The sport has completly left the guy or gal that works there ass off all week to get out on the water on a weekend behind. That goes for the gear promotions too. Its no longer a working mans sport. Add all the drama on SM and you tube its a huge turn off that many anglers have had a freaking belly full of. At this moment I feel like I'm on an island by myself.

We don't need negative rants and drama chasing. Fishermen shouldn't behave like 8th grade girls nor crave it.
Bass fishing has stopped growing and all the drama is everyone hitting the wall. It's done
I think they should eliminate co-anglers in bass tournaments. There are plenty of team trails for co-anglers to compete
