I miss how the old PS1 Namco Museum games were, how they had virtual museums you could explore, filled with memorabilia, trivia, and rooms based on the games. It felt like it was more than just a game compilation, and that more passion was put into it. Even without virtual museums, some other Namco Museums at least have artwork and trivia you could view. This one just feels kinda bare-bones in comparison.
Obviously Namco seems to think we need another Namco museum. In all honesty, I would love to see more video game companies release arcade packs in physical format. It may not have the best selection of namco titles but hopefully strong sales way promote namco to do a volume 2 arcade pak.
Pac man vs, its on this as well, playable with 2 switches. Awesome party game. I work as a career firefighter, and we play this on the gamecube/wii with a gba sp, tons of fun, we have sank hours and hours into pac man vs lol.
Froban I have both collections. The 360 one is great because it has some games that aren’t on this one . Galaga Legions was the one I like on that one. But, the arcade Pac has s a few games that aren’t in that one and I think is a good companion collection. Nice to be able to pick up and play these games anywhere and has tons of options.
We really dont if there not gonna put the actual good games on it like toy pop, baraduke, sky kid deluxe, rompers, galaxian, pac land, dragon buster, and dont forget pole postion 1&2
Oh man, Sky Kid is my jam! Picked this up over the weekend as well. Kinda wish it had more like Mappy and Pole Position. But hey Galaga 88, Splaterhouse, and Tank Force! $40 ish is a little high, but physically I'll take it. Nice review dude!🍻
The switch is a portable system I’m in and out of the hospital a lot it helps pass the time and helps me to fill some what better during my treatments and I appreciate all the classic games I can get.
Tank Force was also called Battle City (at least that's how I remembered this game) back in the Philippines. Going to pick this up for the Switch. Thanks John!
Cool collection there. Used to play a rolling thunder arcade lots as a kid and loved it so was super chuffed to get it for my ZX Spectrum. It was never quite the same as the arcade though I still played it lots and enjoyed it. Imagination helped a lot with arcade conversions on the Speccy
This goes on sale for $17 on Black Friday at Wal-Mart; absolute steal for what you get! Just Namco Museum costs $30 on the Switch eShop, while Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 DX+ costs around $15 on the eShop.
Where is Xevious? Where is Bosconian? As well as Mappy? I bought this and will be returning it. I hadn't opened it yet and bought it to have Galaga and Xevious on my Switch (as I had Xevious 3D on the 3DS and it was great). Glad I realized Xevious and Bosconian were missing before I opened it because I would have been miffed. This collection is great for people who have never played Splatterhouse or Pac-man Vs, but as for a full Namco arcade collection? This is certainly NOT!
I got the digital Namco Museum because I didn't think it would come out physically. Now I'm not sure if I should get it again. Great collection, the online high scores are great and Galaga 88 is awesome.
No. But we do need a Riggs review of Gameboy and arcade classic....PENGUIN WARS for Switch. Come on, it's what the fans want...ok it's what I want. But it's Penguin Wars!
I'm totally getting this for Splatterhouse and the Rolling Thunder games. I honestly heard about Tower of Druaga through the PS2 game that released over a decade ago. Anyway, not a bad collection at all.
No, I already have 3-5 versions across multi platforms. However, Namco wants money and releasing yet another Museum to cash in on the retro love is still a good business practice.
Even though it is ..well. Half assed to say the least I still like this one just because of the options it's got. Yeah it's missing Pole Position, Bosconian, etc but y'know what they really need to do...add stuff like Riiiiiidge Racerrrr!
It is nice that it is now on a physical card. After all, so few of the Switch's library has come in a physical form. Alas...Namco has so many more games that could have taken advantage of this re-release. I rather would have had a 'super' card packed to the brim with more games or just a totally new selection. On a semi-positive note, years down the road when the e-shop is gone, we'll still be able (I hope. Please, no downloads to finish this cart.) to get all these fun games, now.
Of Course we need this!! :) I totally want that game!! Although, I really like to see some of the special games that where on the ps2 namco collection. Like the extra version of galaga and pacman!! Maybe even bring out that 4 player pacman game thats on the PC pacman collection!! I don't remember getting rolling thunder before that is hella cool. Ok the fact that has galaga 88 that is pretty dang cool!!
Not having all 3 splatterhouse games is a let down (I know I know, arcade games only, relax). The real let down here is they use the moniker Namco Museum but they arent anywhere near as good to be called that. The Namco Museum games on playstation 1 are the ones that did it right.
Its always great to see Druaga hit the west, but honestly I have been disappointed by Namco Museum for some time. Give me an actual museum like the psx originals and then we will talk, till then I'm a arcade and MAME player.
@@Nestalgba92023 Really? I didn't know the early concept of Mappy is based on Rally-X. Tell me more. I can quite see the connections, both games do involve enemies chasing after you.
why not if they are the arcade versions, there a few I wish it had like galaxian, time crisis mappy, also believe Namco has the rights for the old starwars arcade game.
I think Namco Museum collections are a little overdone by this point, *HOWEVER* I will say that the inclusion of games like Splatterhouse and Rolling Thunder 2, which I don't think have ever ended up on such compilations before (as well as I think this is the first time since the 2010 reboot that has seen a rerelease of the original arcade version of Splatterhouse), makes this particular collection a must get if you don't already have twenty other versions of Namco's arcade game compilations.
0:07 yes to much sega. But away I wish one collections they made once wish more of midway. And most of us should have sega game sysytem. Seem like nes most bootleg system and sega for collections video games.
Yes, we need another one for Switch with the following games: Mrs. Pac-Man Return for Ishtar Wonder Momo Toypop Libble Rabble Phelios Bravoman Marvel Land Ordyne Esmeraldia Yeah some of these games weren't in earlier entries but it would be a good idea.
That is also my opinion! Galaxian and Galaga are more addictive than Space Invaders. Though I gotta hand it to Space Invaders, that game made video games even more popular than Pong. And do you want to know something interesting? Space Invaders, Galaxian and Galaga were all distributed in America by Midway Manufacturing, and they're all space shooters. Midway Manufacturing also distributed Pac-Man and would later go on to develop the infamous Mortal Kombat games.
The real question is, do we really need digital media? The answer is always no. Physical media is all that should exist. The same can be said for online play. A complete waste of time. Both digital media and online play along with Sony and Microsoft ruined gaming.

I remember a Pac-Man game for GameCube that was similar where you played Pac-Man on the Gameboy Advance and everyone else were the ghost on the TV.
Pac man vs, its on this as well, playable with 2 switches. Awesome party game. I work as a career firefighter, and we play this on the gamecube/wii with a gba sp, tons of fun, we have sank hours and hours into pac man vs lol.
There's a Namco compilation called Nance Museum Virtual Arcade for Xbox 360. It includes over 30 games so this Switch collection is severely lacking.
Froban I have both collections. The 360 one is great because it has some games that aren’t on this one . Galaga Legions was the one I like on that one. Yeah, no Mappy, seriously?!
@@JohnRiggs yeah.. no Ms PacMan, Bosconian, Rally X, Dragon Buster, Baraduke, Moto's, Phozon, Galplus..
What gives Namco?
What about Mario bro and sonic and Ninja turtles
@@ThenightskyofMikeThose aren't Namco properties.

Yes,yes we do need another one because this one has Splatter house
Good answer!
Best answer ever!!!!
What pissed me off was that they didn't add pole position 1 and 2 cause I would only buy these namco collections just for pole position
Tank Force was also called Battle City (at least that's how I remembered this game) back in the Philippines. Going to pick this up for the Switch. Thanks John!

Cool. Physical release. Yes, I need this. Thx for the video
If we ever get any more of these, I want the Arrangement versions of Pac-Man and Dig Dug from the Gamecube and PS2 Namco Museums!!
This goes on sale for $17 on Black Friday at Wal-Mart; absolute steal for what you get! Just Namco Museum costs $30 on the Switch eShop, while Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 DX+ costs around $15 on the eShop.
I would have liked bosconian. But Tank force, and the rolling thunders are surpriseing.
Got this the day it came out, mainly for the arcade version of Splatterhouse and the 2 Pac-Man champs.
I enjoy the included games but agree that we need a console PAC-Man Battle Royale! Awesome video as always!
Really like your new character toon model, it's so life like.
You are an expert gamer.
Black Friday its 20 at gamestop

curious by its absence, too.
No Ms.pac-man? Deal breaker. Namco lost my purchase.
Ms. Pac man is awesome!

@rayhagele In your opinion, what is the best version?
It's ok for each gen to have a collection. It needs Pac-Attack though. That would make it better.
No, but we'll still be getting them until the end of civilization.

Pretty cool co-collection of games
I got the game for 17.99 and looks pretty fun to play with people when I got the chance to
The Switch is the best place to play those games. The quality of the Namco classics on the Switch is on par with the PS4.
I'm 22 years old
Is Arcade Pac worth buying
Where's Mappy!? Namco dropped Mappy out of the Namco Museum for a while now......
We need pole position
We need both

Wonder Momo
Toypop
Libble Rabble
Phelios
Bravoman
Marvel Land

love rolling thunder, wasted so many quarters on that game.
I wasted quarters on pole position
neat but not at that price, 10$ more than megaman 11 and twice as much as capcom's beat'em up bundle? hard pass.
