I agree. The schools in my area are locked down at all times. You have to be buzzed in to enter, and even then you can't get past the front office because it's locked down at that point you can't go beyond that little front office. The double doors that lead into the classrooms are locked down as well. Every single door in the schools in my area are locked down. You can only open them from the inside. On top of that there are two police officers that rotate that are assigned to each of the schools and are in the schools at all times throughout the school day. Our county took this kind of situation very seriously. I understand not all school districts can aquire this kind of funding, but our district made sure there was funding to protect their students as well as staff. This should be mandatory in every school in the country. When a parent or visitor reaches the front office they have to provide their ID or license that the staff is required to scan for safety. I am glad that our school board and district stepped up and took this kind of situation seriously. Every student should be afforded this kind of security to feel and be safe!

How ignorant of you to think it’s not anyone else’s fault besides those two.
If my child didn't come home from school because they were brutally murdered I would have a BIG problem with this teacher declaring that no one should be blamed. Who the hell is she to make that statement???
@@maddogsenglishmen8020 One solution to this problem would have been for the cops to have done their damned jobs. They stood around scratching their balls, while an OFF DUTY U.S. Border Patrol officer called bullshit and led the charge into the building. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for their damned cowardice.
OUTRAGEOUS! The cops are CLEARLY to blame in not charging the gunman, and they DESERVE every bit of blame they receive. As a parent, I'd be absolutely LIVID with this teacher.
That is absolutely ridiculous for her to say she wants the blame to stop and I'm damn sure that she would be singing a different tune had one of her own children been in that room and lost their lives. Unfortunately he is not the only person to blame... those police officers failed those kids and those teachers that lost their lives. Wow! She's gone through this horrible tragedy, helped kids to safety and her husband is the border officer that went in and killed the shooter, all the while we sit, typing on our screens, miles away. She's gone through this along with the others who's kid's were killed. We(that includes you) don't know that feeling so, might want to take a second, take a breath instead of attacking her.
The blame to stop? Lady there are people who made deadly mistakes, like the teacher who left the door open having the opportunity to 🔐 lock it several times, the first officer passing by at the parking lot, the other officers on the scene, the commander in shift, and months ago the sister when he asked her to help him get a gun and didn’t tell anyone, the instagram friends who openly talked about him shooting a school, etc. So no, the blame is not going to stop just because you say so. It's called responsibility _(edit: taking responsibility = accountability)_
Agreed! People make mistakes and we need to learn from mistakes and be honest so hopefully we can improve and don’t repeat the same mistakes. If we don’t talk about this and investigate and find out the root causes, we will never learn the lesson and improve.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 ... EXACTLY!! Trish has the luxury to say, "I just want the blame to stop" because HER HUSBAND is the border patrol officer who had the privilege of aiding her (and the kids in her class). No Karen, the blame is on everyone that failed these kids. The teacher that propped the door open. The late lock down response from the school….. etc. so many failures that it’s inexcusable!!!
Calling a grieving teacher who survived a mass shooting a Karen and belittling them? Obviously she’s upset and is hurt just as much as anybody else. Come on
Why the f do you call her Karen? You seem like a real piece of work that most people would never want to get stuck in a room with. In fact, you sound like the Karen.

I’m confused! Why not immediately call the police instead of calling your husband. Maybe I need to watch the video again. That’s a pause, a delay calling your husband. I mean at least I think so. I can’t watch this, toooo many what if. It just hurt my heart that all these sweet children and two adults suffered. Now their families and the local community is suffering. Just heartbreaking.
She doesn’t get to tell others to stop blaming people. If those 19 families want to blame whoever it’s ok. We need to learn from all this. Something has to change and should have changed after Columbine.
exactly. we need to go back to having gun classes. Kids need to go back to being educated on firearms and school gun clubs need to go back to being promoted and celebrated just like other sports. This kind of crap never happened when schools had public gun clubs and kids were properly educated and encouraged to use guns.
guess how many school shootings happened before 1970's? less than a handful. That is right, so few you could count them on one hand. depending on the source, it is between 2-4 shootings from 1900-1969. nearly 70 freaking years with nearly no shootings at all. Guess how many have happened since 1970? 2,032. Several a freaking year. Guess what changed from 1969 to 1970? guns became banned on school grounds. Before 1970 children regularly took guns to school and gun clubs were encouraged and on average, each public school had roughly 80% of the students with a gun in their locker. the evidence speaks for itself. gun laws are killing our children and destroying our country
guess what has also changed since 1970? We started teaching science and stopped teaching philosophy Philosophy is the damn study of moral reasoning and critical thinking. why the fucking hell would we stop teaching kids about moral reasoning??? I don't care that we started teaching science, i think science is helpful. but for fuck sakes, we should never stop teaching philosophy. it is literally the study of how to be a good human and achieve your potential or find a way to live a happy life.
Bless her for her courage but she has no right to speak for other victims and their families who heard the excuses made about why the police didn’t go in the school
This ladies husband is the BP agent who killed the shooter. She called him while he was at the barber's getting his hair cut. She told him an active shooter was in the school and that she loved him. He borrowed the barber's shotgun and went to the school and took care of business. His spine was intact unlike those 19 weasels loitering in the hallway outside that classroom full of dead and dying children.
She expressed her own opinion. She spoke for herself. What leads you to accuse her of purporting to speak for other victims and their families? She made no such claim. She spoke for herself.

It's not about "blame." It's about leaving no stone unturned to search for the root causes. The lives of our children are more important than a teacher's hurt feelings.
Absolutely. Those victims and families deserve better. Investigate why protocol wasn't followed. Why the open door didn't have an alarm, where was the school resource officer? This is a very tragic, traumatic event that will effect many people forever.
No every school has resource cop especially at Elementary. Also most doors don't have bells or whistles. They were having a graduation event so that's why the door was left open.
If the Police are afraid to confront a shooter with that type of gun then why in God's name would your country allow it to be sold so freely in the first place!

I bet they would wait, the bullets flying around that school were fired from an AR-15, thus they are high velocity bullets that will go through a steel door, much less police body armor. I know these things having carried the M-16 A1 for 6 years in the Air Force Security Police. Two of the first responding officers were shot through the steel door and grazed, that put them out of action. The team had to regroup and help their fellow officers. Police Officers are not supposed to be living targets, if so how can they help when they are dead???? They had to wait for something that would stop the over 100 bullets being fired at them!!! Teachers are walking their classes in and out of the building a lot during the school year as well. Do you think that kids are magically levitated through the ceiling to get to the school buses at the end of the day? Or that kids are marched single file through a guarded front gate to get in the building in the morning? Nope, they walk through an UNLOCKED DOOR. Do you have any idea the amount of times a teacher has to keep their eyes in 27 or so places while transporting their class from one area of the school to another, sometimes necessitating a walk through an outer perimeter door? Charging this teacher for a momentary and normal human error of leaving a door propped up for a few minutes (that tragically happened to coincide with an armed homicidal teenager finding that specific back door) seems insane. Is _that_ how you want teachers to live? _Is that how you want all of us to live?_ Unable to have a door open for more than an unsupervised minute for fear of being jailed? For the love of all things normal, IT'S NOT THE TEACHERS WE NEED TO CHARGE. It's the people knowingly facilitating the easy access (to a _teenager, no less_ ) to a weapon that can kill a lot of people in the shortest amount of time possible that need to be charged. Barring that, we need to VOTE THEM OUT.
I'm starting to think that this door-propper teacher is a really well beloved pet of everyone in the school and will never be outed. Either that, or the 'police' are busily investigating her inside and out and don't want to give her name out till they are sure she wasn't involved.
Where I live small town like Vlades all though covid the doors were left propped open for ventilation. Same thing in *secure* offices. Just lucky I guess.
I have a feeling she is a supporter of a certain person so she feels the need to "dry defend" them. Speak for yourself. If you want to put your party over your life then so be it but accountability is a must.
@Kickstart nothing in the constitution speaks about blame. Another lie by a member from the "party of personal responsibility". So ironic. You damn right I'm a dem. Cry about it you bigoted gun fetishist. Like I said, it's just party over lives. You KNOW kids died and policies from the REPUBLICAN party directly contributed yet you blindy defend. STFU

Those babies were wasted for nothing😢😢😢😢 I am very sure that most of those kids dreamt of making the world a better place but now they are all gone and you are saying you want the blame to stop?😭😭😭😭
A teacher is responsible for the shooter getting into the building in the first place due to propping the door open!! If he couldn’t have gotten inside, he couldn’t have shot them.
I understand that this teacher is grieving and just wants peace after being involved and witnessing such evil that came upon her school. Absolutely right, this shooter is to blame for his decision he made out of his broken soul and mind. But to think that's all there is to the story is not true. There were NUMEROUS missteps that could've prevented this event or at the very least minimized the amount of carnage that occurred. From this shooter's read flags made visible to the officers delays (even once inside the building) to leaving a door propped open for this shooter to come through...so many opportunities that need to be address so people can understand and learn from this. Be well and be at peace.
I understand that this pasty winch of a teacher is married to a Border Patrol officer. The same bastards who were putting these same children in cages, and losing them here and there, under trump. It's possible that this pasty winch doesn't have ANY FEELING for those children. It's possible that she is at THAT school to MISEDUCATE those children, a wolf in sheep's clothing. They exist ya know, and they are EVERYWHERE. Phuck that pasty winch. She just showed us all what her priorities were. And that's to defend the undefendable. She's married to a friken boarder patrol agent for Pete's sake. Jeez.
@Messenger it happened. They said the teacher went to get her cellphone. This may have been an easier route to where her phone was. It happens in many schools even though many are told not to do this. Often times people don't think something bad would happen.
@Messenger yes...went in to get a cellphone but this teacher was already standing outside with the door propped open when the shooter crashed his car. It's almost as if she was outside for a smoking break or something. It appears the teacher just thought it was an accident when she ran in to get her cellphone (shots were apparently fired while she was getting the cellphone). It still boggles the mind that she wasn't able to just close the door or let it stay close once she ran in to get the phone. Probably just got lost in her sense of security. It's awful and I am sure she feels bad 😔. Be well and be at peace.
@@dz7a756 her feeling bad is not going to bring these 19 children + 2 teachers back. That was a hell of a stupid move to do when you're supposedly working in a secure environment. This started the whole chain of events from allowing the shooter to enter the school. If he was denied access to the school it may have given the cops time to get there and neutralize him.
I wonder who asked her to speak out about getting the blame to stop. I sympathize with what she went through, but there are a lot of people not just the gunman that needs to take responsibility for this tragedy. So, if she wants to call that blame, then fine. Why was an 18 year old allowed to purchase assault rifles when he wouldn't have been able to purchase beer!? If he brought beer cans in there instead of a high powered lethal loaded rifle, we wouldn't be having this discussion. The gun laws in Texas and in this country need to change. NOW! Mental health needs to be addressed, yes, but that guy wouldn't not have been running into that school with a lethal rifle if he wasn't allowed to purchase them from the start. This is pitiful! 😥
Don't be another anti-gun idiot parroting CNN's words about something you don't understand. The gunman had 40 minutes to do his evil deed. A double barrel goose gun or bolt action deer rifle would have served his purpose as well as an AR. All rifles and shotguns are lethal. It's the user, not the gun.
This is getting very weird. Who opened the NW Entrance Door and why? Nicole knew there was a shooter, why did the school not go on a lockdown at that point? And then the shooter walks past her own class to go into another class? This whole thing is getting disturbing on a very different level.......
I agree. I really need to know who left the door pried open. Was the door always left open? Did the shooter know in advance that the door was open? And I also need to know why did the shooter walk past one teacher's classroom and into the next one. Was he targeting a particular classroom? A particular teacher or student? If so...why?
@@lindataylor3834 Thank you for the thoughtful questions. Hopefully, the investigators will be able to unravel the mysteries and answer our questions. But you know what though. What baffles me is how the news cycle and everyone still expects this to happen again. Why? What kind of society expects its little kids to die in school; from being killed by a mass shooter.
a @@lindataylor3834 I've heard from the timeline that was most recently put out that the shooter passed the first classroom he came across because the door was locked. But the kids who survived (it breaks my heart to think of the trauma they'll live with), told police that the shooter shot out the window of their classroom door. I think it was just random. It may also have had to do with the fact that the shooter was upset that he wasn't going to graduate. There was a tradition for the graduating high school seniors to visit Robb Elementary and parade through the halls in their caps and gowns so the little kids could see them and aspire to work hard so they could one day graduate and come do the same when it was their turn. He may just have been bitter and wanted to kill anything that couldn't fight back because he was so mentally damaged that he thought this was going to make a name for himself. Please notice that I never use the shooter's name in my comments. And I never will. People who do this should not think that they will be remembered by name. It affords them a dignity that they do not deserve.
Also.. one of the updates from them yesterday revealed that by “barricade”, they meant that THE DOOR WAS LOCKED. Wtf?! That’s considered a barricade?? When they initially made this statement when this tragedy first occurred, in my mind I figured that they meant the shooter stacked desks and shelves or whatever in front of the two doors.. not that he locked them. I swear, with every new detail, this situation actually finds a way to get worse. I have no children, and don’t know a single person in Texas, and yet.. hearing what these officers and that terrorist did makes me cry, and every new detail makes me cry more for those kids. I’m sorry but in this one.. someone does deserve blame, and all of the victims of all mass shootings deserve a solution.
I am from Texas I live up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and I totally agree with everything you're saying it is one of the saddest situations I've ever heard of because men lacked courage to care about little ones who could not ultimately take care of themselves although there sure were a lot of smart kids calling 911 and I am so proud of those kids that did that the ones that were able to be quiet and survive it's it's amazing I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been so smart in fourth grade many many years ago but many people like courage to all you have to shoot it shoot a door the lock it'll it'll come undone I don't think that would have been near as hard if they would have just shot the lock open and then he would have shot stayed out so stay out of the way you know you don't have gear and then soon as you get a split Second you turn right in there and shoot your shoot the guy I mean I'm no I'm an old woman I think I know better than that I don't think they had any courage it's just baffles me such a loss and no need for the amount of loss the egregious mistakes that were made it's just baffles me I don't know what else to say
How can a person stop themselves from going into that school and doing all things possible to save those kids? I would be ashamed of myself if I was in the parking lot just watching the police do nothing! Shameful!
Well Tom I carried the cousin to the AR-15, the M-16A1 for six years in the Air Force. The rounds are meant to go through light armor and kill. Most likely all 21 people were shot and killed with in the first minutes. Police are not given the same ballistic vest we in the military have. Two officers were grazed by two of these rounds, that means they have to regroup and find something that can withstand armor piercing rounds or they would be dead as well. That does not excuse any improper behavior that might be found in the investigation, But I highly doubt you would confront the scumbag with no protection, those officers deserve to live just as everyone else!!! I am for an impartial investigation and if found guilty, then punished as a court of law determines. Police are under no law to make them walk into bullets and die!!!!! I am waiting to even hear a word about the teacher that opened the back door????? He or She enabled the scumbag to get into the building. I could type a book on how to design a school building that could withstand gun fire from any weapon a man can carry. Why wasn't this lowlifes social media accounts accessed as he attempted to buy those rifles?????? It seems to me most all of our school shootings were warned about on social media, the scumbags posted what they were going to do, including this scumbag

Karen, I respect that you were in a giant mess down there in Texas - I'm glad you and your students survived. But you don't get to order others around you about what to think and say.
Is it the law enforcement's fault that a shooter decided to go to that school and do what he did that day? No. But did they handle the situation correctly? Absolutely not. They should be held accountable for that.
After Columbine, I taught in three different schools with the same policy...mandatory locked classroom doors...mandatory locked doors throughout the school entrances, regular active intruder drills, tucked in shirts, clear bookbags...all the doors were fire doors...no one could get in, but they would open from the inside.... observation windows on classroom doors had blinds....in school resource officers were armed law enforcement...random metal detectors and police dogs were brought in...
Yup. And, now, every student that grew up doing those active intruder drills every school year since kindergarten has the potential to come into a school knowing _exactly_ where to find victims. I'm sure this shooter used to practice hiding in the same places when he went to Elementary school. We've trained a generation of would be assassins just where to shoot.
Who was the teacher that propped the backdoor open AFTER she saw the shooter in the school compound? The teacher left the door propped open and went inside to get her handphone. Name this person.
Thank you to these brave teachers..I'm sure they saved many of their students by their quick actions......and so sorry for those who lost their loved ones....Blessings.
If he was able to shoot through the windows of those classrooms then why were 19 police lined up in the hallway for? No one thought about shooting through the window?
The windows on the side of the building where her classroom was located are different than those on the side where the shooter was. The latter were smaller and a bit more elevated. From looking at photos, anyone outside would likely not be able to see where the kids were and would have a very limited field of fire as well. Also, there would be no cover for them outside giving the shooter an unnecessary advantage. Edit: Snipers might have set up on top of a nearby building but it wouldn't have been difficult for the shooter to avoid line of sight.
The fact that he legally bough GUNS on his 18th birthday with no previous psychological evaluations is just disgusting. America is damned and rotten. The whole country is responsible

I say the same thing
Awful on every level.
Yep, as a nation we do about anything to not be responsible for our actions. There is a cost!
Its crazy that people are starting to blame towards the teacher responsible for opening the door and the door itself instead of the murderer.
Also.. one of the updates from them yesterday revealed that by “barricade”, they meant that THE DOOR WAS LOCKED.
I hate to say this, but Texas don’t give a damn about our security, if they did something would be done but it’s not going to…
The janitor had the key.....they had to wait til he arrived with it. In what universe does a janitor have the only key ?
Even the bootlickers are upset over the situation.....this opened their eyes.
11:33am shooter enters and fires 100 rnds
11:35am officers arrive
Everyone was already dead.
@@daddywarbuxx5194 nope and I suggest you do some thorough research so you don't keep spreading false information 🙄
How can a person stop themselves from going into that school and doing all things possible to save those kids? I would be ashamed of myself if I was in the parking lot just watching the police do nothing! Shameful!
They even stopped parents from going in to try save their kids . That's downright evil !
over 100 rounds that's why Tom join up their looking for HEROS .
@@GM8101PHX Would you run in a burning building to try to save ur 3 yr old twins? Would you step in front of ur 10 yr old son if someone was shooting at him? Would you jump in the lake to save ur wife from drowning even if can't swim? I would do all of these with out hesitation! 45 minutes in unforgivable!
Plenty of blame to go around. There needs to be accountability for those who did not protect those children or come to their rescue.
the blame to stop? people need to be held accountable
The blame is on the gunman and those who knew and didn’t report it before it happened.
"only person hear to blame..."
is the teacher who propped that door open!
Really? Did that teacher fire the weapon? Stupid.
@Alyx A Disagree strongly.
Thank you to these brave teachers..I'm sure they saved many of their students by their quick actions......and so sorry for those who lost their loved ones....Blessings.
Why was the school resource officer off campus at that particular time ? WHO opened the door and propped it open ? And WHY ?
If he was able to shoot through the windows of those classrooms then why were 19 police lined up in the hallway for? No one thought about shooting through the window?
Dumb and dumber they proven to be that’s why
Nailed it 👌
The windows on the side of the building where her classroom was located are different than those on the side where the shooter was.
All I see is a bunch of people trying to avoid lawsuits and accountability, and it is sickening.
Yep 😢
"the only person to blame" REALLY THE COPS DIDNTT DO THEIR JOB OF COURSE THEY ARE GOING TO BE BLAMED.
Nope, Sorry, People need to be held accountable, otherwise, People will just continue doing what they want.
They practiced lockdowns, were told they were SAFE. Those poor children will have PTSD for life. So heartbreaking. Accountability is needed for sure
In other countries there is no need to practice active shooter lock downs, kids actually ARE safe .. Accountability begins at the top, with a system that creates the conditions
But did the police chief and staff assigned to that school practice lockdowns. Somehow I doubt it.
@@shimmer8289 the school itself hosted a large scale active shooter training exercise only in March....It's chilling to think that in a small community like Uvalde the gunman himself may have been inspired by having seen or heard of it going on in his local neighborhood 😔
@@AngelaH2222 wow that's recent training. Maybe the police lack equipment or human resources to have gone into the school and taken the shooter out so help to come yo those babies. Society needs to know how it can better prepare police for this and the school.
