At last someone who knows how to use a curling iron. I’ve watered so many videos with people wrapping the hair around the iron from the top of the head. I always did my hair like this video. Thank you.
I'm unsure of the exact brand of curlers being used in this video. However I would recommend the 'Babyliss Pro Porcelain Conical Wand', this iron curls hair so well. I hope this helped.
I finally got it! I do it by just holding the curling iron vertical about an inch from my head wrapping the hair around the barrel. I hold very end of my hair there for like 15 -30 seconds, I don't count second I just tap the hair while it's wrapped around and you can feel when it's heating up. I get perfect ringlet curls. When you let go of the end a perfect bouncy ringlet curl literally slides off. There's no pulling no friz and no getting hair stuck. Screw that clamp and screw all these tutorials. Hope this helps, it REALLY works. I swear this method really works.
This is a very 80s method of curling hair this is how we did it in junior high. When I went to beauty school we used marcel irons which started curling at the top and feeding it though.

A) You had crimping in sections of the hair where there were no curls, which is a sign of a flawed technique; B) The curls look awful due to the horizontal position of the curling iron (instead of the curls falling in a manner that cascades, you've created a more unmanaged look that, in this case, is not at all trending or in demand); C) You're frying her hair by beginning at the ends rather than leaving them for last (and for the briefest amount of time); D) There was literally no reason to use your finger in place of a thermal comb to protect your model.
I noticed the crimp, too. This is how I've always curled hair and when I started watching videos learned that having a crimp wasn't normal. I found a video a while back showing how to properly put your hair into a curling iron like one of these and I was shocked and amazed. It was neat. I thought this man would surely do the same, but he didn't. Anyway, I'm looking for it, or one similar, so I can see how it's done again.
Not being mean but please don't misguide! If you clamp from bottom and roll to top, the top gets less heat and bottom hair part prone to more heat and it damages the ends. Right way is to clamp the iron to the middle and then roll, click, roll - on repeat mode, till we reach the ends or can even avoid the ends, as ends are prone to damage easily!! By this right technique my hair gets stuck in the clamp😬 so I use it like a wand, even if I have hurt my fingers a few times🙁😓 its ok to me! Eventually I'll learn, it gets easy-peasy😊 or just wear a glove😂😁
lol this is how ppl used to do there curling iron hair, this is the way my mom learned how to do it. Explains why my ends are fried though lol I just use Tulip instyler, i love it

Plus hairspray does not protect your hair from heat, only heat protecting spray will do this
