This is actually my favorite video. I love longer videos that are between 20 and 30 minutes long. That's at least the time I need to style my hair or do my make-up and I find it really helpful to have a tutorial playing in the background during that time. Good idea, Gabi, love it!
I truly enjoy these tutorials. It's very helpful to be able to watch the techniques you use throughout the entire styling process. I've gotten much better at styling my hair by watching these videos! Thank you and please continue to provide such informative content!
I really want to learn this one and will have to slow it down, re-watch and practice it because I love the look, but have never been able to get it to work. Thank you for sharing this is in so much detail.
Thank you so much for making this video with step-by~step instructions. I have been trying to make my hair wave like this for so long. I couldn’t do it until I did my hair along with your video. My hair came out perfect. It was exactly the way I wanted. I’m so happy!!!! Thank you so much for these videos. Please never stop making them to teach us how to style our hair. Have an amazing day. May God bless you. ❤
Thank you! 04:40 finally someone who does this slowly enough for my brain to process what I'm supposed to do with my hand/wrist and the curling iron. Knowing me, I'll re-watch this video on half speed.😄I have a wide face, so I think (without having tried it) that the softer more natural wave will look better on me.
I will forever be grateful to you Gabi for teaching me how to curl my hair with a curling iron! I use the Moroccanoil Prevent and Protect Spray, it is the one product that I cannot go without and ALWAYS reach for it. I love how you styled your heat and prefer the side with the texture spray.
Thank you for this type of video. I'm 63 and have had very straight LONG hair all my life. (I used to sit on my hair) I have a " bottom of the collar length" bob now, and this is all new to me. I appreciate the slow tutorial 👍👍
I'm glad it's useful for you! Thank you for your feeback - I always feel torn between keeping it fast paced and giving enough information to make sure you can achieve the look!
Mar '24, have been bingeing your most recent videos, and kept thinking that I'd love to learn how to style my hair like yours... ta-da, here 'tis! Thank you, loved the long peaceful, orderly format 10/10 ❤
Hi lovely! Just found your channel. Been looking for this type of wavy bob tutorial for short hair for a long time! Going to try this technique tonight!
Oh my gosh, this is amazing! I tried this when the video first came out and just couldn’t achieve good results. Well, after taking a few more inches off my length, I DID IT, and it’s gorgeous! Thank you so much Gabi. Forever grateful, for this tutorial. ❤❤❤
Great video Gabi! You are an excellent teacher. Your hair always looks great no matter how you style it but I do like this wave the best. Living proof sounds like the best spray for me since I don’t use hair spray at all. You are a joy to watch so keep the videos coming! Happy New year❤️
Okay, did it, there was a learning curve, but once it kicked in, it was budda!!! It looks like a blonde, thirty years older version of your hair, thank you so much for this detailed tutorial. 😃♥️👏🏻
Love the step by step. Those that want a faster tutorial can always fast forward. I really love my Living Proof volume spray for my fine no body hair type. Thank you for all you provide all of us. Happy New Year.
I'm learning so much from you, thanks. The heat protectant that I use for years is Beyond the Zone. I love it. Also I'll try the one that you recommend.
Wow you make it look so easy, it makes me want to try it!! Thoughts for content? How about what you suggest for wearing or doing with, just beneath shoulder length hair, at night, when sleeping, to maintain a style like that, from the previous day.. Any suggestions on lip scrubs, or help to maintain smooth lips, to help with lipstick application. Thanks Gabi
Thank you for posting this! I love my Lador heart protection and am glad to see you use it. I definitely have you on my bathroom counter and curling with you. 😅 Your explanation and process make so much sense, and it's easy to follow. I truly appreciate the time you take to make these videos.
I use the Pantene heat protector, and it’s actually my favourite 😊 I’ve tried several on my fine but dense hair and many weigh my styles down. The Pantene heat protector is light and I find it has a bit of hold too (but not much).
Yessss I love this video and how you talked about including every piece of hair in the videos and curling hair at the same time as you. It’s a slow process that takes a lot of watching haha
I have to add to my comment of this tutorial❣️ I absolutely love how my hair turns out when I use this method. My hair is cut like yours in fact you were the reason I braved cutting my hair Lol. I love this cut and I’m happier with my hair than I’ve ever been♥️ so again thank you. ♥️🫶🏻🤗
Thanks Gabi. Love the video ,so informative. I DO like seeing 'longer version' then short ones for reason you said to see entire head being styled. which one I like best----- BOTH. they both look great!
I have been trying to figure out how to do this for the last two weeks (unsuccessfully) so hopefully watching your video while practicing will help! Perfect timing 😅
Thank you Jade! I am really happy to hear that this video was helpful. Yes there are definitely plant-based ingredients. Maybe that is what other people are allergic to also...hmm...
I got the same thing with my lador heat protectant but it’s never been an issue for me. I’m on my 2nd bottle. Easy, light and effective. I have fine hair and it doesn’t change anything. I almost feel like my curls hold better. Could be in my head.
I'm really happy to hear that! I was so unsure about these tutorials but people seem to enjoy them. I was so worried that they would be super boring since short form content is so popular now. But you can't learn anything without actually watching someone do it over and over again.
Gabi, I LOVE your Channel. I can tell from your videos that you are such a sweet kind person and a great teacher. Thank you for going slow. I found your channel because of your videos for thin fine hair. I have seriously thin fine hair. I wish I could replicate your beach wave. I am working on it but am a slow learner! Besides heat protectant what do you use to prep your hair after washing for this look? Somehow when I try this style the waves are too separated at the roots ( I can’t find the words) and it looks terrible. I also can’t get the waves to last more than a very short time. Do you style this way right after washing or can you do this the next day? I just bought the TYMO airflow curler and am trying my luck with that. I have tried beach waves with a flat iron, waver ( it was a dangerous tool for me…too hot!) , curling iron and all have been failures! If you have any other suggestion I would love to hear them. Thank you Gabi!
Hi Gaby! Love this technique. I can't wait to try it. I love the texture look as I always prefer full, voluminous hair. You are absolutely stunning. I learn so much from you. Thank you!!!
. My hair isn't a bob but I think it will be fun to try this. I am recovering from a few years of shorter hair cuts that made me feel like an old lady. My hair is now past my shoulder and I am loving it. I am also enjoying learning how to style it. Styling has always been a challenge for me. I am learning SO MUCH by watching your videos so thank you for being so thorough and articulate.
I use Toni & Guy heat protectant spray. One thing u can do with it is on very long dry hair spray the mids and ends until damp with it, comb it through, then spiral the lengths around your fingers again and again until they form long tight sprials and leave to air dry not touching them, it doesn't take long, then it forms a nice curl on the very ends and keeps them together. I used to do this when my hair was very long (almost to my waist) and down the ends were thin and scraggly, when I didn't do anything to it (I'm a guy) it looked fluffy and dry even though it wasn't (it was just the hair at that length was very thinned out) because it was so thin at that length and the hairs would separate all the time and flay out in different directions, but when I did this thing with the heat protectant spray it created little ringlets on the very ends where it was thin, kept them together and behaving and the curl stayed in for days and it looked pretty nice.
I tried this technique and I absolutely love it. Thank you for the video. I have a question about your hair color. Do you have a balayage and could you share with me color on toner used in your hair ?
Gabi thank you so much! My hair is finally ready to handle heat again and this tutorial couldn't have been more timely. Moroccan Oil products are really nice but the animal testing puts me off. I'm on a budget; recently I discovered Pacifica's vegan silk line. Pretty reasonable and they make my hair feel so healthy (bleached down to platinum and colored blush/rose) as long as I stay on top of it. Also I have super hard Florida water and these products have greatly helped maintain and defend my hair.
Your videos are quite helpful. I have the same curling iron you were using- (babyliss pro 1 inch) and really like it. Ive used that texture spay but in Surfer girl which is REALLY strong. I need to try the 1 you recommend. 😊
Another super helpful video. Thank you Gabi! Question, if you use heat protection when you blow out and then want to use the curl iron does one need to reapply the heat protection?
Products are very very important. It will really determine whether your hair does what you want it to do, stays healthy and makes your hair last for multiple days. And yes, texture spray is the best!
Loved it! This was such a detailed tutorial! I have thicker hair. Do I need to do anything differently to achieve that same look when curling (additional sectioning, etc.)? I have been using the Redken 22 Thermal Spray as a heat protectant. I feel that it does a good job protecting the hair but can be a little on the wet/heavy side. I really try not to spray too close to my head and lightly spray but I think it's just how the bottle sprays. I may give one of your recommendations a try.
You can do it! Start with your curling iron unplugged and cold. Practise it several times with it off first and then you can heat it up. As soon as your brain figures out what your hands need to do, it becomes second nature. It's only hard the first time.
Great demo and guidance on curling. I never knew to wait till hair is cool or about the wide-tooth comb, spraying the underside, etc. I like both sides, but I tend to be partial to volume. Thanks! Question: Is texture spray different from standard hairspray?
Gabi what are your recommendations for the wavy hair to stay for a few hours mine doesn’t last long at all :( need help or productive to use for texture and volume without taking the wavy curls our . Thanks really appreciate you 😊
I bought the Bayliss BaByliss PRO Ceramic Pointy Barrel Curling Iron - 1-1/4" - BABC125TBC And I don't know how to use a short clamp, any suggestions. Thank-you for all your videos.
Regarding the heat protectant spray if you’re putting the one you use on dry hair doesn’t that cause the hair to be burned when you put a hot tool on top of it because it’s wet is it better to use a dry spray has a hair protectant?
You rock both the wand wave and clamp iron wave! I don’t think my hair color looks its best when I wave it. The grays looks better straight. More sleek. Also the fullness of a wave is too full around my chubby face and I think less volume around my chin slims my jaw line. Maybe that is a tutorial. What modern styles help slim the face and jawline and bring attention to cheek bones and eyes without going pixie short?
Do you like this haircut better for fine hair or the 90s layered medium cut you had before hand? I can’t decide whether to go back to the bob. I don’t have a lot of hair on the sides/temples of my head so having longer hair let’s me push my hair forward from the back to appear fuller but then again it’s stringier
That’s a good question. If you don’t have a lot of hair on the sides, I would make sure to not over-layer the hair so you keep as much density in the baseline as possible. As for the cut itself, it depends on what you prefer but I am really loving my bob at the moment. I’m even getting it recut on the weekend.
Thanks so much my hair is a little longer than yours and thin. I just don’t get the volume like have. I love heat protection with Kendra blow dry mist. I just got Keratin for Christmas love it.
You are so welcome! Did you get the Keratin volume products? The volume comes from the products + the blowdry. Did you watch the blowdry tutorial? That is the most important thing to master. After you master that, everything else will look amazing.
Thank You Gabi can you make a video using a hair wrap i just got it and im still learning if can or have one would be great 😊 and helpful ❤❤❤love your videos i learn so much from them 😊
Thank you so much for the detailed instructions! I have tried this method before and it did not hold at all :( I am very curious to try the curling wand method!
Can this S wave be done by rocking the flat iron back and forth? I wanted this wave this morning and forgot this tutorial so I did the rocking but got a lot of fizziness. How would you do it?

I'll have to practice with the iron off on this one. You do the best demos and show so much versatility. Thank you!
Yes!!! You absolutely should practise with the iron off. Excellent tip! Thanks for sharing 💕
I truly enjoy these tutorials. It's very helpful to be able to watch the techniques you use throughout the entire styling process. I've gotten much better at styling my hair by watching these videos! Thank you and please continue to provide such informative content!

The detail was perfect. I curled while you curled. I watch a few shorts but still didn't get it. Now I get it. Thank you
I really want to learn this one and will have to slow it down, re-watch and practice it because I love the look, but have never been able to get it to work. Thank you for sharing this is in so much detail.
I hope it works for you!
Hello Gabi, I think this wavy hairstyle suits you very well and you look very beautiful with it. Thanks for this tutorial
Aaw thank you Audrey. You are the sweetest and always so supportive. It means so much to me.

This was the best tutorial ever! I just got my hair in a messy bob and I was STRUGGLING with my clamped iron. Thank you 🙏🏻
Glad it helped!

I love the way your waves turned out. This was a great hair tutorial! I'm looking forward to learning this technique. God Bless. ♥
Thank you so much 🤗 I'm so glad that you found this helpful!
Thank you Gabi for this curling hair tutorial. I have saved this video for the next time I style my hair.
This is a great demo Gabi, so helpful and the end result looks so beautiful. Thank you!
I'm really happy that it was helpful for you Cheryl!
Love the step by step. Those that want a faster tutorial can always fast forward. I really love my Living Proof volume spray for my fine no body hair type. Thank you for all you provide all of us. Happy New Year.
Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!
Good morning I just wanted to let you know I’m still using this and every once in a while I do my hair with you. Have a great day.
I love that! I'm glad you're still using this video!
I'm learning so much from you, thanks. The heat protectant that I use for years is Beyond the Zone. I love it. Also I'll try the one that you recommend.
This video was a huge help! My natural wave was looking tired and now I know how to spruce it up ! Thanks
Love it! So glad it was helpful.
Wow you make it look so easy, it makes me want to try it!!

I truly appreciate the time you take to make these videos.
Thank you so much for this detailed video! It is such a great help to be able to see the technique more than twice.

This video was super detailed. I will be trying this on my natural hair this Sunday for an event
Totally worked and faster than the old wrapping and pinning I used to do! Thank you!
Thank you for demystifying the beauty tools, GGG! ❤
I got you ;)
Yessss I love this video and how you talked about including every piece of hair in the videos and curling hair at the same time as you. It’s a slow process that takes a lot of watching haha
I finally got the curl, unravel, pull technique!! Yay 😃 thank you thank you thank you! Your videos are soooo helpful I’ve learned a lot from you !
YAY!! I am so happy to hear that you found it helpful!
i don’t get it😭😭when i try to unravel my hair just gets out of the clamp
I really learn so much from your content. Thanks got going slow and taking the time to explain things in detail!
Thank you Gabi. I will try this technique and the High Tide and Heat protectant spry. You rock!
I hope it works for you! Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
You make THE best hair tutorials. As far as the Lador, it seems to have a lot of plant ingredients- a few I’m allergic too. Have a Happy New Year 🎉❤
Thank you Jade! I am really happy to hear that this video was helpful. Yes there are definitely plant-based ingredients. Maybe that is what other people are allergic to also...hmm...
I’ve tried this technique before and did not do so good at it. I’ve since cut some length off and got a longer curling iron. I’ll give it a try again!
Thanks for watching and good luck! Sometimes it takes a little practice to master this method.
I got the same thing with my lador heat protectant but it’s never been an issue for me. I’m on my 2nd bottle. Easy, light and effective. I have fine hair and it doesn’t change anything. I almost feel like my curls hold better. Could be in my head.
Looks beautiful as always🤩
Have you ever used the new rotating curling iron ?
I’d love to see how you do your hair with that.
I just purchased one
I prefer long tutorials.
Thank you so much!❤
I'm really happy to hear that! I was so unsure about these tutorials but people seem to enjoy them. I was so worried that they would be super boring since short form content is so popular now. But you can't learn anything without actually watching someone do it over and over again.
@@GlamGirlGabi Absolutely! 😍
Love, love, love your videos! Very informative and at a slower pace for us gals to get it 🌟
I am so happy to hear that it's helpful! These slower paced hair videos were necessary I think.
GIRL THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED
So glad I could help!
Gabi the curls waves look great 👍, but I love the straight look too on you ,😎💖 happy new yr Bella to you and your family ❤️ from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you and Happy New Years!
Moroccan Oil for life! I do want to try the Lador though for sure, I'm sure if you like it I will like it.
Love this tutorial, I will be playing ur video while I do my hair ❤ thank you so much 😊
Gabi, I LOVE your Channel.
I just bought the TYMO airflow curler and am trying my luck with that. I have tried beach waves with a flat iron, waver ( it was a dangerous tool for me…too hot!) , curling iron and all have been failures! If you have any other suggestion I would love to hear them.
Thank you Gabi!
Okayyy I have to rave about that texture spray. I have thin fine hair, it’s been 6 hours my hair looks fabulous❣️
Hi Gaby! Love this technique. I can't wait to try it. I love the texture look as I always prefer full, voluminous hair. You are absolutely stunning. I learn so much from you. Thank you!!!
Thanks Helen!! I hope you try it out and love the results on yourself too! This can be done on all hair lengths.
It's so easy when you watch, then a complete disaster in practise. I didn't miss my calling that's for sure.
You are welcome and thanks for watching.
My favorite texture spray I’ve ever used is IGK No Limit.
Hello Gabi, you always look fantastic 😊 I like the texture spray wave but you look great both ways.
Thanks Mary! I'm glad that you liked the video!
Love the texture spray look.
I tried this technique and I absolutely love it. Thank you for the video. I have a question about your hair color. Do you have a balayage and could you share with me color on toner used in your hair ?
I needed this tutorial so bd. I have exactly the same length of hair but with bangs.
GREAT, GREAT video. And, yes, you are on my bathroom counter when I try to style my hair😉. Happy New Year🍾🎉
Happy new year!! YAY! I am so happy that we get to hang out together and style our hair ;)
Thanks for sharing! I'll have to check Pacifica's line out.
Texture spray side looks great love the volume
Thank you for this video, Gabi!
So well explained!
I like the short videos for Instagram and more detailed/tutorial ones for here 💜
Glad you liked it!!
Thank you for this as i have struggling with the curling tong
So pretty. Definitely the text sprayed side.
Your videos are quite helpful. I have the same curling iron you were using- (babyliss pro 1 inch) and really like it. Ive used that texture spay but in Surfer girl which is REALLY strong. I need to try the 1 you recommend. 😊
Yea High Tide is a much softer! You will probably really like it if you found Surfer Girl to be too much.
Love the texture spray side
Oh yes, clamp down, not up. This was a great tutorial Gabi.
Glad you liked it Donna! I hope you were able to learn something new today :)
Another super helpful video. Thank you Gabi! Question, if you use heat protection when you blow out and then want to use the curl iron does one need to reapply the heat protection?
Can’t wait to try. I need to get products. I never use them. I love the texture spray.
Thanks for watching! Depending on the length and thickness of your hair you might need more sectioning or a slightly bigger barrel.
Thank you for taking your time to teach me. ❤
You are so welcome!
I use Hot Tools deep waver, love it, less bulky to use.
You make it look so easy. I will give it a try. Will probably have to watch video again as I try waving my hair until I figure it out. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Texturizing spray creates more volume and messy texture without freezing your hair into place.
like the volume look . very grateful for your videos :)
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching.
Gabi what are your recommendations for the wavy hair to stay for a few hours mine doesn’t last long at all :( need help or productive to use for texture and volume without taking the wavy curls our . Thanks really appreciate you 😊
Hi Gabby love all you video, great tutorial! Can you please do video for little girls curly hair and safe products for their hair, thank you 🤩
I bought the Bayliss BaByliss PRO Ceramic Pointy Barrel Curling Iron - 1-1/4" - BABC125TBC
And I don't know how to use a short clamp, any suggestions.
Thanks for your comment and this is a great suggestion!
One texture spray that you can restyle with is Eufora Full Effect Dry Texture Spray.
You are the best! 🎉❤
You are the best! 😘
@@GlamGirlGabi Yes, I did get both like you recommended. After a blowout and Velcro rollers I can get the volume.
So size does matter 😊 thank you for the very useful info❤❤❤❤

Thank you so much for the detailed instructions! I have tried this method before and it did not hold at all :( I am very curious to try the curling wand method!

Can this S wave be done by rocking the flat iron back and forth? I wanted this wave this morning and forgot this tutorial so I did the rocking but got a lot of fizziness. How would you do it?
Can you please let me know what temperature you put your curling iron on?
I will keep this simple love the videos😁😁
I have such fine and thin ass hair, i swear nothing turns out right. I don't even have these sections to work with 😫
