- Most NFL players would love to have long careers and be very consistent throughout their time in the league, but that can't always be the case. Sometimes there is a player that does extremely well in one season and then falls off completely for the rest of their career. This is otherwise known as a "one season wonder" NFL player. Those are the types of guys that we are covering today and it should bring back memories if you have been watching football for a long time.

What you forgot to mention about Ajayi is that he won the superbowl as Blount's backup in philly
I seem to remember Ajayi had TWO 200 yard games that season.
11:34 that’s Alfred morris not betts!!
For Real!!! You can even argue that they were co #1's because they complemented eachother. Blount a truck and Ajayi footloose
Josh Gordon’s 2013 season is arguably a top 10 wr season
What about David Johnson? Dude was a beast for one year in Arizona and then faded away.
I swore that when he went to the Texans he was gonna blow up. Took him 4th round and he was garbage
He had a few good years
He had some good years
Ajayi was incredible in 2017 when the eagles won the SB
Yup he was a key part GO BIRDS
Yeah, kind of crazy he didn't mention that.
EXACTLY! That's a VERY important part of the story.
Josh Gordon was a literal beast! He would have been a HOFer if he would have stopped smoking bud.
More like if the league stopped invading his privacy.
@@nickprioletti7221😂 nah fr
Half the league smokes.
@clevercode30 thats not the point the point.. he was on the nfl where you get millions to play especially with his talent.. yet he couldn't stop smoking enough to get them off his ass. He choose bud over millions. Stupid move of I say so
It wasn’t weed. He did coke Molly shrooms lean etc. weed was not his problem
People don't realize Josh Gordon had DUDS throwing to him and he was able to put up 1600+ yards on 14 games. If dude could lay off drugs, he would've been a HOFer. I hate to say it, but it wasn't just weed. He went to rehab for coke and I could imagine that, along with one offs of other drugs, probably reduced his athletic ability. Truly a shame
For very, very different reasons, Josh & Bo Jackson and the biggest what could have been cases in NFL history.
Josh Gordon had legit HOF potential if he could beat his demons
Yeah his demon was weed and they treated him worse than guys that beat their girlfriends.
Josh Gordon had 87 Catches for 1600 yards. Man... Remember when the media praise Michael Thomas for 110 catches for 99 yards per game. 😅
Slant God MT, can't forget
Drew Brees and thst system made a lot of people look good. Like Lance Moore I hated that guy because he would catch a 10 yard pass and jump.up like he mossed someone
Rg3 is one of the greatest one season wonders.
Good one
Yeah I’ll never forgive Shanahan for allowing that knee injury in the playoff game
Gordon's Footwork Was Underrated AF
Look at his tapes he fkkd db's up with that
Let alone his freakish build
Peyton Hillis was a straight fullback. Not a halfback...no one ever thought he would be more than a blocker when he came in the league out of Arkansas. He was just as good as Mike Alstott.
Block for 2 1st.round RBs McFadden and Jones!!! Sick college backfield!!!
@@bobbyromeii3418 Felix Jones and Darren were a great duo. With Hillis leading the way...they were going off back then.
Hillis was doing well for the Broncos in 2008 before being inexplicably written out of the offense in 2009 ( by Josh McDaniels) then the trade to Cleveland.
@@UserUser45654 true and then the injury....never got back to 100%. The Brown's workhorse. Rarely does a FB get the cover of Madden. I don't believe in the so called ''madden curse" though.
Man, this is an awesome video. I haven't heard some of these names in the longest but they bring back memories of when I really loved football and Madden.
Keep at it man. I’m enjoying seeing this channel growing.
Jay Ajayi was a monster at Boise State.
Yeah. Draft guys and even serious NFL fans knew about Ajayi for a while.
Yeah. Draft guys and even serious NFL fans knew about Ajayi for a while.
To be fair! If the nfl wasn't under Roger, the running back position would still be a viable position
2 players you missed... Formally Terrelle Pryor and latterly Matt Jones just to name a couple...
Great video bud, do the same video but with defensive players next and keep up the good work
Loved the apex vids glad your happy doing your sports content now I think your doing awesome! 👏
Thank you! Glad to see some familiar Apex players in the comments here and there❤️
Woah that’s cool. Did you used to make apex content on this channel?
@@iamth3senate433different channel but for his respect I won’t name it 🫡
@@iamth3senate433 I had another channel called “Sweatband TV” that I used to post Apex on
Anyone notice that ladelle betts highlights were michael vick?
I did that because there was zero footage from that game of Betts running. Just wanted to include some of the game
Great video man just enough information sub gained 👍🏽
Appreciate it! Thank you
RG3 should be on this list.
Tebow had that really long wind-up before he would throw the ball which wasn't going to work in the NFL.
But it did they were mad it did
Carnell "Cadillac" Williams!
Jordan Reed was another one.
He could've been great if he didn't keep getting injured
Terrell Pryor had a great one year with the Browns with over 1,000 receiving yards.
Wyk about my boy Pryor ❤
Gary Barnidge won me my fantasy title that season, it was unreal. The has the best TE in the league already and snagged Barnidge off waivers and they won me the title. So many Browns on this list.
I hope you make another one of these as there are tons of one hit wonders. One I rarely see anybody talk about is 06 Lions WR Mike Furrey.
Furrey has quite the name! If I do a part 2 I will include him for ya
@@FantasyPhenoms Sweet!
He also converted to safety and had a 5 int season
@@FantasyPhenomsnot “if” … “WHEN” 😵💫 need that part 2
@@raulibarra4355dang ,, bro knows ball
I remember Nick Goings being listed at FB in Madden and he was BEASTING.
I haven't finished the video but Blair Walsh. Had a monster rookie season. Went 35 of 38 and was perfect from 50+ yards and perfect on extra points. Then something happened the next season and he started missing extra points. The years after, either he was great with field goals and was missing extra points. Or he made all his extra points, but was missing a significant amount of field goals.
Rick Mirer had a great rookie season at Seattle. Never did much after that.
Similar to Leaf in San Diego
RB: Justin Forsett in 2014 with the Ravens
WR: Kamar Aiken in 2015 with the Ravens
RB: Errict Rhett in 2015 with the Buccaneers
Rhett played in the 90s for Tampa. He had 2 1000yd seasons, his 1st and 2nd.
@@coop8267 He had 1011 yards in his rookie season. His one hit wonder came the following year with 1207 and 11 TD.
2017 Carson Wentz is the greatest QB I've ever seen. I actually feel bad for him because had he not gotten hurts, he might've been truly incredible. But the injury and then his backup winning the Super Bowl shook his confidence I think and he was never the same.
He still had some decent numbers other seasons. Next season he was injured again but had 3000 yards in 11 games and 4000 yards in '19. '21 with Colts he still had 27 TDs but everyone only remembers them choking to miss playoffs. Hurts being drafted likely hurt his confidence more
Saying any version of wentz even his best season which wasn’t even an mvp season is the best quarterback you have ever seen is such a try hard attention seeking comment . Wentz literally blew it every time the lights were bright he threw a pick , or fumbled the ball . No he did not have a good year for the colts you guys are repeating stats you did not watch the games , his stats always came in garbage time when the game was already lost and the defense could careless about you dinking and dunking down the field .
@@vinceventura4453 His 2017 was an MVP season until he got hurt. You call me attention seeking then go on this tangent. You also talk about watching the games and not just looking at stats, which if you did, you would know that his 2017 season was elite, again, until he got hurt. I'm not saying he should've won MVP or anything. All I'm saying is that the first part of the season he was incredible. I may have exaggerated in saying he was the best I've ever seen, but I still think it was one of the best I've ever seen.
CJ Spiller was a one hit wonder too. Rae Carruth was also a one hit wonder, but for murderous reasons.
New sub bro!
Welcome bro!!🤝
Gordon was like bruh I was high that whole season!!! Shhh!!! 😂😢
What's really sad about the Josh Gordon suspensions is a few years later the nfl changed their policy on weed, but still dude had a problem and even admitted it he said he would pop a couple shots and or smoke some weed before a game let alone on his free time, all he had to do was just stop smoking and drinking for a month before the pee test and it's not like nfl players don't know when it's coming, glad he got better though at least I'm assuming but would of been nice to have the next Megatron on the browns. Also he had that season with 4 or 5 different starting qbs as well
Good ol' Steve Slaton... my first round pick in fantasy in 2009 and thus was the start of a winless season.
Cohen for the bears looked absolutely insane for a season with the bears that got injured and never was the same
All I can think about with these is Jerome Harrison.
You choose the wrong RB for the Ravens should’ve picked Justin Forsett in 2014 after Ray Rice situation he exploded for 1266 yards, 8TD’s on 5.4 ypc
Hey shouldnt Kenny Britt be on your list?
I had gordon in fantasy that year. I won that league handily.
Nick foles better be on here
No apology needed for the browns players. Amazing seasons to watch those players have even tho the team was bad. Sad how Gordon’s career played out. I think the same season Gary Barnidge received for 1k, Terrell Pryor was moved from QB to WR and received for 1k his first season playing receiver! We signed him as a QB originally. Then he went to Washington, idk where he went after that.
Another one please
Fun fact: Clinton Portis and Champ Bailey were traded for each other straight up. One of the few pro-bowler for pro-bowler trades in recent history.
Nick Foles would like to thank Bill Belichick for being able to avoid this list.
Gordon is real real dude, he was just as good as ur favorite wr, he just couldn't comply with nfl rules, meaning if u was in prison with him he'll dominate u everytime, some men can't comply with these rules the nfl upholds💯
“meaning if u was in prison with him he’ll dominate u everytime”
Huh??? 🤨
Josh Gordon could have been one of the best receivers ever. He had the talent.
what the hell are you talking about when you say that 1k yards isn’t a great season for a TE
that’s a fantastic season for a TE
Case Keenum deserves to be on this list too
Fucked me up with jay ajayi man I loved him I even got a color rush ajayi jersey
NFL suspends Gordon and derails his career over some failed drug tests while at the same time handing out painkillers to players like candy
Josh Gordon, the one-hitter wonder.
11:00 that's not Betts, that be Alfred Morris!
He in the XFL now
Go on with the part 2
Man Josh Gordon was my favorite Wide receiver Bra I hate that things didn't work out fore him that 6'3 6'4 220 deep ball catch in traffic underneath what ever you needed like FOREAl......
Madden 12 was the last one I owed i believe
Josh Gordon is sad, over some dang weed
If Josh Gordon had stop smoking that stuff he could’ve been a hall of famer
Mark Anderson had 17.5 sacks his rookie year with the Chicago Bears... then he fell off a cliff
Vic Beasley
Great list. But as a lions fan.. you missed some 😂 Jahvid Best comes to mind first. He was gonna be what Gibbs is now 🥲
Mannn… he was a BEAST in NFL2K that year! You brought back some memories lol
Ajayi and Blount together were reasons we got to the Superbowl just saying
Good video
Please don’t blur the screens
Cant forget about Devante Parker
This channel slaps
Thank you Serg!!
U almost could make a whole Browns team. U could almost add Jordan Cameron, Trent richardson too
Samkon Gado
Its a shame for Gordon, he looked like Randy Moss out there
The problem with Josh is he wasn't a "one hit "wonder ...he took multiple hits n puffs.
Olandis had a serious injury early in his next year
Dont forget Alfred Morris
no way Morris qualifies... he was great for multiple years
Matt Cassel! Where is he!?
I drafted half these dudes.
Demarco Murray for the Cowboys in 2014
Wait wait wait…wasn’t Teabow in the league just a few seasons ago? Made some headlines if I recall🤔
He had a tryout for the jaguars when Urban "oops that's not my wife" Meyer i do t think he made the team though
@@savage751 Didn't he tryout to be a TE rather than a QB?
Miles Burris from Oakland
Injuries figure large, but also once you showed you can play, teams will game plan to stop you, and that ends it for a lot of them.
This would probably be a “messed up” video idea. But there is no other video on it. The 2020 Pro-bowl was tragic, if you could make a video about Kobe’s death announced that day. How it affected all the players. Compile their reactions and articles written. That would mean so much. R.I.P. Mamba
Justin Forsett, David Johnson
No Samkon Gado is wild.
Should have had another Cleveland player lol, Derek Anderson went off and made the pro bowl and completely forgot how to play quarterback the next year
Doug Martin
Does anyone else remember Tyrell Pryor Sr?
It’s crazy how they did Gordon and Ricky Williams just to legalize weed later 😒
What ever happened to Ezekiel Elliott? Anyone know?
Samkan Gado didn’t get any love here!?
this shows why runningbacks dont get paid. They can have a career year in losing efforts.
Bro ran up Damn near 500 yards for nothing I would’ve retired 😂heart on ice ..
More Browns could be on that list. Terrelle.Pryor and Braylon Edwards
I just started watching a video of Bengals quarterback Greg Cook is not on this list you've lost all reputability.!
In 1969 cook put up his numbers of MVP caliber at quarterback as a rookie... He would have rewritten the 70s as we know them, and seriously damaged both the raiders and Steelers and dolphins legacies. Is coach Bill Walsh believed that he was the most talented quarterback he had ever seen, more then either Steve Young or Joe Montana or Ken Anderson.
One injury that the Bengals front office couldn't seem to manage and Cook's Hall of Fame potential was gone in a blank
Jeffers got screwed over by the panthers' doctor with his microfacture surgery. My biggest "what if" in league history, next to Bo Jackson
Private matters aside, Stacy never got a fair shot. The guy proved himself and got tossed back to the bench for an emotional head case.
Alfred Morris
NCAA 07., no one was allowed to be WVU. Slaton and Pat White at QB were both too fast.
Interesting that you put three Browns on the list and one of them isn't Braylon Edwards
Josh Norman
