    Who were the HWARANG (화랑)? While everyone in Korea has heard about them, most people don't know anything about who they actually were. But the HWARANG are important to Korea's history, even today. They're remembered and respected for their code of honor, their diligence, and their humility.
    While a lot of the HWARANG's history is shrouded in mystery - mainly because we don't have many records of them - we can still learn quite a bit about their purpose and their significance to the Shilla Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms Period.
