  • We start day 8 with the discovery that we are in India for The Ganesha Festival. Religion becomes a hot topic for Jana.
Heaps of people swarm us on a fuel stop- they just come out of nowhere!
We explore the Undavalli caves built in the 3rd to 4th Century.
Hayley sings the Duck song at a lemonade stand.
Luke shows you how we prepare the Rickshaw each morning and Jana gives a tour on the road.
    Monkeys are everywhere.
Well-earned beers finish off the day.
Day 8 done... 6 more to go!

If kids are doing that with the rope that's for the Ganesh chaturthi festival like a donation (Chanda) it continues for nine days, local people will give not others ... If you have you can give if not you don't...

Oh now we feel terrible that we didn’t give to them. We thought they were road pirates that we’re trying to scam some money out of people 😞
Thank you so much for letting us know ♥️

The beauty of India is that youll find order in confusion. This can never be found in any other part of the world 😀
Its magical how all these can exist at the same place and yet live in complete harmony.

Super, you may know that most Indians can drive a car and Motor bike but have never tried Rickshaw, which is way cheaper than renting a car.
Many industrialists in the past tried to sell modified rickshaw as a cheap family car, but failed mainly because Indians think it is poor man's lively hood vehicle.
But a few like you and me know that it is
    - convenient for small roads,
    - cheaper to rent own and operate,
    - less attractive to thieves,
    - more windy than car,
-offers better views as it is higher and more open,
-never catches fire and auto-locks people inside like a Indian car,
-Can be rolled up from potholes or sand if it gets stuck or into the nearest shelter if it needs a repair,
-can accommodate upto 9 people over short distances in case of emergency,
-easier to repair with some basic knowledge,
-needs no AC even during the summer heat
    and much more.

They are the most wonderful and fun machines ever made. They also provide shade unlike a motorcycle 😀
