Without any transfer restrictions the players are not effectively year to year free agents plus they will get endorsement money. They went to fremont ohio Where both rob and myself are from and interviewed him. He told the story on commitment day woody came to his house he said hes going to Michigan and woody freaked. Rob also owms many rushing records at Fremont Ross HS which also has in my opinion the greatest rivalry in ohio with Sandusky HS. Two names of the 90s came from each school. For the bucks from Sandusky Orlando pace OL for Michigan from Fremont Charles Woodson primarily DB but occasionally played RB WR and PR.

While I still think it's the best rivalry in sports, I think the "respect" for the rivalry has, in my opinion, exited. While "hating" the rival used to be said a bit "tongue in cheek", it's now real. I'm a Buckeye who used to go to some games in Ann Arbor. I would never go anymore. The behaviors have become coarse, vulgar, and physically threatening. I'm sure some Wolverines feel the same about Columbus. I think the respect ended that night in 2006 when I saw most of Ohio Stadium in tears during the tribute to Bo, who died the day before.

"Officials that can make mistakes like that will NEVER WORK FOR ME AGAIN." Well doesn't that just say it all. Woody was too full of pride. He was a good coach in a talent rich state that would scare everybody...except Bo. Maybe a teaspoon of humility would've been a helpful remedy for the old coach but his pride kept him from seeing that losing his temper in public could cost him. Acting like tearing up the sideline markers was somehow justified is beyond comprehension. Eventually this all led up to his ultimate demise culminated by the punching of the Clemson player. Too bad he was a condescending, prideful figure whose memory will always be tainted because of it. He had great teams but his disrespect and disdain for Michigan will always be the calling card for which he is remembered along with that long shadow of entitlement which resides deeply within the psyche of all buckeye fans to this day.
Other than that, I loved growing up in that era and learning to live and die during The Game.

    • @BeatlesLennonjdi

He seemed more respectful in his reflections of the game. The man had his heart and soul between the sidelines and he couldn’t hold his composure. Every man has his regrets and mistakes. As a Michigan fan, I have tremendous amount of respect and admiration for what he was able to achieve throughout his career, setting a standard in which drove not only Michigan but the entire conference to strive for. Whether you agree or not, my opinion on the matter is: there would be no Bo, without Woody. For that alone, I am thankful.

      How was he cheating exactly?

    • @otisjohnjr.3023

@RuffRyder_43 paying players to play not one game should have counted that the cheater coached in.

Tressel, Woody Now Have Something Else In Common
Jim Tressel certainly isn't the first football coach in NCAA history to feel the wrath of sanctions.
He's not even the first one at Ohio State.
It would probably surprise many in the Buckeye Nation to know that Woody Hayes and his program were hit with a one-year probation by the Big Ten back in 1956. The reason? Several members of the football team were being paid for jobs despite the fact they were not showing up to work while others were receiving money directly from the coach himself.

1971,1972,1973 I was a teenager. The Ten Year War. Was 3 runs and a punt. Straight runs up the middle. Very little passing. It was The Ten Year Bore ! I don't know where these colleges got the idea to call that ten years anything special. BOOOOORING !

Too much joking and reminiscing. Get to the old man fight, Bo, Woody. Either that or take your clothes off. Then you know what to do with that baby oil. I came here for a show, and I will get my show...damnit I've been watching too much Eric Andre again. I'm sorry people.

My sense of humour? Ridiculous. The old men? Naked (and lubed). The show? Vomit inducing. Stop watching? Never.
You'd watch it. Be honest. Imagine the smell in that room. All that baby oil somehow going from clear to yellow, then green.
Come on, anybody laughing who's reading this? Tough crowd .

Been a Michigan fan since 2009, love looking back and learning about what’s made the rivalry so intense in the past. Hopefully both teams are undefeated again going into The Game this season too. Go Blue! 🟡🔵
