Wow, what an incredible trip! We just finished our adventure in Trinco, and every beach was stunning, but Dutch Bay Beach stole the show! The beauty of this place is beyond words. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting. Absolutely amazing! 🌊🌴

That sweet syrup that you have is not Sugar Syrup, it's called 'Treacle' which is mostly made from the Jaggery Palm tree. But it is also made from Coconut trees.
And I didn’t even go to the popular areas. The Southwest is where most people holiday but it was monsoon season there. I think tourism will blow up here soon so come while it’s still in crowded.

Great video! If you find yourself in Central Province then please come and visit one of our Tea Leaf Centre schools - we'd love for you to see the work we're doing for young people in the tea estates.
We were there in September. North East Monsoon Season know as the Mala is October to Late January. They say the best time to visit the northeast is April to September. Southwest monsoon season is known as the Yala is from May to September. They say the best time to visit this region is December to March. The southwest is more popular for vacationers and we looked into it on the ground to see if maybe the monsoon season ended early but I think it ran solid through the end of September which is why we saw the northeast which is lesser known.
Greetings from Toronto! Kithul is much lower on the glycemic index than maple syrup ie healthier. I heard there is an awesome sushi restaurant in Fernando’s Market. One of the reviews on Trip Advisor said it rivals sushi restaurants in Japan. That’s saying something. Did you guys try it?
We didn’t try it but I wish I had now. I didn’t know that about kithul syrup, I hope they can find a way to preserve the tradition but I think it’s so much work for not a lot of profit so the younger generation isn’t as interested.
Hi. Thank you for a fantastic video. Do you have contact details for where you had the cooking class near trinco? I’m trying to put together a trip for myself soon. Thank you.

You have to DROWN the string hoppers in the gravy!! That's the best way to eat. Mix it up with your fingers like you were eating rice and add in bits of the curries but especially if you get 'kiri hodi' which is a coconut milk based light gravy, you HAVE to drown the string hoppers in it for the best flavour! I do the same with pittu as well. NEVER eaten it bare like that tbh... Always mix it up like your would rice. Only difference is that with string hoppers or pittu, I always need a LOT of gravy. I appreciate the response, I do see some serious issues with the rise of digital nomads and expats who aren't interested in the local community. However, I don't think you can say all, because there are also those of us who want to inspire people to learn more to local culture and contribute to the local economy. A lot of people don't visit the north and I think it's a mistake, it was the first area I visited and I think has such an important story to share.
