WHAT WAS I THINKING? hahaha! I'm not sure. I wanted to try something super weird and unique, and definitely accomplished both of those things, but is it a swing and a miss, or a little gem? That will vary greatly from person to person, I'm certain!
This laminate piece was trashed.. I added a plywood top, removed the faux woodgrain to expose the solid wood drawers and then had some mishaps along the trail to the final result. I'm glad I'm releasing this on Halloween, because I'm not sure it would make sense any other day of the year! ha!

@laundryfaerie Vitiligo isn't ugly. Think of all the animals with different colors that we find absolutely stunning ☺️ Humans can be beautiful with multi-colored skin as well! 💕

I'm a quilter. I have tried "free motion" quilting. As I hate the product I produce it seems if I just keep quilting it doesn't look so bad. In fact, it looks beautiful. A piece of art. The mistakes are hidden and go unoticed. Just like this piece of furniture, Keep adding layers and the first layer is just a small part. The layers together create a unique piece of art. The point is.....don't give up. There will be beauty at the end because your creativity will come through. Good job, Angie.

Definitely a treat! I was kinda skeptical at first; not gonna lie. But the end result is fantastic; it's like a cool celestial topographical map. The gold pen paint at the end made all the difference and it is magical. I would definitely have this in my home.
Can't believe you even questioned if this was a hit! It's more than beautiful! I am so amazed at your approach... Even when you came to that point of, "Ok, this is just not good," you didn't remove what you already had and just prime it all over and start again! It takes a REAL artistic eye to move a mistake made, into something amazing. And that's how it's done, folks!

Treat! People are so afraid of color, but I could see this in a ultra modern space or many a shops. Never doubt yourself. You are so unbelievably talented and it almost look like leaves or koi fishes drawn on them. Gorgeous piece!

Even if it’s not to my taste, what you produced was a beautiful work of art out of something that was essentially garbage in anyone else’s book. You always say you’re saving things from the trash and you absolutely did that with this one. It reminded me of the pictures coming back now from the new space telescopes, sort of like nebulas and constellations. Really cool, and totally unique. Nice job!

I usually prefer straight lines and not more than two colours, but this piece has incredible dreamy vibe about it, it honestly looks amazing. Golden details really bring everything together.

I was watching this on TV as my husband looked in and said "Oh that pretty. I like it" That was of course during the reveal. I forgot my husband likes purple 💜 😂 I liked the one you did in Fusion Elderberry, I think was the color! I saw what you saw until my husband saw something else. I actually was ok with the purple and super light colored wood. Then the changes moving forward were interesting, and it was ok. But, the finally was a stunner, and so unexpected. Only an artist could have pulled this amazing piece off.
I am truly impressed with the spacing of each color, the gold against the other 2 colors, the beautiful wood stain color, the hardware, which I didn't like originally, turned out to be perfect, and the vision that came to fruition! Absolutely a stunning piece!

You've taken a humdrum dresser and make it spectacular! The designs you drew remind me of coral and plants under the sea but they also remind me of stars in space and how we put the astrological signs over them. It has a magical quality about it and I hope it found a happy home.

ETA: I'd definitely call this a hit and not a miss -- even though it hit a target you usually don't aim at. While you were saying how much it wasn't turn out, I was sitting here thinking, "Go get the gold paint pens, go get the gold paint pens, just go get the gold paint pens ... " because to me, it felt like the main problem wasn't the patches of eggplant purple and wood, but that they weren't distinguished enough in value. You needed the gold borders and designs to call them out, and damned if that's not exactly what you did!
It's not your typical thing, but it's really beautiful and dreamy, and I'm sure someone somewhere will love it.

My parents owned several businesses when I was a kid and one that stands out for me was an antique furniture business. I'm now 65 years old so those memories are from a very long time ago. Although not a piece I'd want in my home, due to the design and color, I must say it's well done, quite imaginative, and will make someone very happy. I'm a wood person, and I don't care for purple, but I'm impressed with the way the colors and wood are made to compliment yet contrast and result in a truly unique piece. While I generally disapprove of painting older pieces instead of bringing the piece back to its original state, this is definitely one of the times where painting made the save! An outstanding result, I have learned in watching your videos that I must trust your process! Respect and congratulations, friend! Respect and congratulations!
Painting is sometimes a necessity. A lot of people get really upset about it but they don't stop to realize I'm not painting for the sake of painting. Sometimes saving a piece requires the artful addition of paint. Period. Thank you for trusting my process!!❤️
The artwork really makes this piece. It is so unique. I predict, someday these pieces are going to be worth a mint! And there are going to be copycats everywhere. Thing is, this type of artwork takes a super steady hand and an eye that 'mere mortals' just don't have. :-)

Angie, what a complete delight! Have you ever considered leaving a pic of the original piece in a drawer, you make magic so why not use the before and after. It also reveals how much work, imagination and love you have put into the piece.

The golden lines are making this piece absolutely stunning. Without them, the patches of paint would not make sence... well done on saving another piece of furniture
