Every Jawaan Taylor False Start that WASN'T CALLED!

- Опубликовано: 7 сен 2023
- During the NFL's first game of the 2023 season between the Chiefs and the Lions, Jawaan Taylor, Kansas City's right tackle, repeatedly got away with jumping early. Officials finally called a single false start on Taylor late in the game. Chargers fans may remember Taylor pulling the same move in the playoffs last year, when Taylor, then playing for the Jaguars, was leaving early and not getting flagged then either.

Collinsworth's comment about the Lions needing to point it out was downright insane! What the heck are refs paid for if not to catch this stuff without anyone else pointing it out?
The chiefs were paying them
@@nat3dgr34ti bet ive been saying that before jawaan taylor for their two sb. ppl like u are just jealous. lane johnson did it the whole sb and no one said anything about it
@@jaysonsmith7264 jealous ? I saw what I saw that man lined up illegally on top of false starting every play
@@nat3dgr34t its okay u are a casual and don’t understand football
@@jaysonsmith7264 I played football all my life buddy how do I not understand football when the commentators even said he was lined up illegally and false starting 😂 your delusional
I think the Lion's didn't say anything but it was clear with the way he lined up if it was a run or pass. I think the refs totally ignored holding by the Chiefs it was rediculous.
I listened to an interview with a former Lions O-lineman who said that but he also said that the tipping off the play doesn't help as much as you'd think it does cus you still have to worry about play action or tosses, etc.. I think the more likely explanation is the Lions just don't have a whiney, look-for-an-excuse mentality. They are singularly focused on annihilating everyone they play, no matter what doesn't go their way, and I love it. The discipline, focus, hard work and making no excuses is the absolute best quality in the new Lions. The fact that they are good too is just the icing on the cake.
I don’t even know how you spelled it like that
The refs for multiple years love the Chiefs way more than anyone, and hate the Lions way more than anyone. Calling one out of every 12 Chiefs penalties was actually better than what I was expecting
I will be honest I think the refs were waiting until the Lions had the lead to call the KC. Once the Lions were up 21 to 20 late in the 4th they started calling things on the Cheifs.
@@Esb906 Your logic is invalid. The argument isn't whether or not they received any calls....it's whether or not they allowed a large many of the should-have-been's to be 'missed'. Though I think this idea of refs hating a team or loving a team is silly. But.....protecting the NFL's top QB is probably a motivating factor in calls/non-calls. :)
Quick note, he can align as wide as he wants (look at the bengals RT), the issues is that he was aligning way to far back which isn't allowed
Yes, that's the correct explanation. Good clarification.
The referee's were told to scale back on the penalties because of all the fans complaints the last few seasons.
@@tonysplace9255This game had 7 penalties enforced, if I remember right. The high for this weekend was 20 .
NFL out to protect its money-man qb . Integrity of the NFL , questionable. If you think the NFL made rule changes to protect Rodgers, you ain’t seen nothin yet.
The tackle proceeding to line up outside the numbers:
The ref watching the line should be fired. Tons of holding and false starts with no calls. They prob did not want to see the chiefs lose to the lions.
And the Lions still won, and there was nothing the zebras could do about it.
The blatant holdings were the worst part to watch during the game imo. If the refs don't have an agenda, they at least show a lot of bias.
@@slmnmndrco8129 The refs are just doing what they're told. It's the NFL who has the agenda. That agenda is called the almighty dollar. The agenda favors the teams that generate the most revenue. Money talks.
Nobody was getting called either side. You want to back up your own opinions and didn't see Lions holding either 😂
Guess what, it is fair if nobody is being called for it
@@10thletter40 to start the lions were not false starting every down. For two, the lions were getting called. The announcers even said it. For one example the tripping call was more evident with the chiefs and the lions got called for it when it was more accidental. You can be a Chief fan boy. No one hating on you.
This shows even more how much of a BEAST Hutchinson is.
I swear, Taylor got like 3/4 extra steps and Hutch is just throwing his ass out the way lmao
This is shameful. Wow. The refs letting this many go unchecked is just a blatant slap in the face to the fans of the game. This video needs more views and likes. Wow. 🤐🤔😬
I actually ran across an interesting take (can't remember who, otherwise I'd give them credit here). The take was that maybe the Lions weren't complaining because Taylor as actually clearly tipping the play (run or pass) based on how he was lined up and how much wiggle his outside leg was doing prior to the snap. On runs, he was fully set and steady, but on passes he was wiggly and lined up waaaay off the line, even for play action plays. It might have given the defense a clear tell on what type of play was coming.
@@Jags_All_Day Interesting. Good to know. Thx. And thx for the video.
@@Jags_All_Dayits crazy how when u actually watch the game u find stuff out lmao
@@Jags_All_DayWhat’s really crazy is that is probably the reason the margin of victory was a single point. Imagine seeing a tendency so bad that it’s basically illegal, but you don’t want the refs to call it because it’s working in your favor 😂 It’s mad.
The last few season so many fans were complaining about bad calls that the referee's were told to scale back on calling penalties. You will see this a lot this season.
Props to his timing and abuse of ref no calls, but Man! a BUNCH those were obvious - _especially because_ (as Collinsworth said) he lined up "like a slot receiver."
Didnt hear jags fans complaining when he did it against LA and KC in the playoffs.
@@whitewhale9012might be why KC went and got him lol
Most important thing to take from this is:
Dude was cheating 2 different ways and Hutchinson still dominated him.
#GRIT
Other thing, years past these are the things we would have been talking about why we lost the game..... they beat the chiefs and the refs
"Dominated" OK lol
lol. Actually "Hutch" got worked - they had to move him inside against the guard, and then rush someone wide to help him get some pressure. The only plays he made were after he moved inside. Plus he was constantly lining up in the neutral zone. Lions won the game, give them credit. Give Kadarius Toney the game ball because he was the sole reason the Lions won. They could only muster 14 points against a Chris Jonesless Chiefs defense.
@@FSMWorshiper Hutch won several reps, and a few you might even say he "dominated" the Chiefs tackles, but you're right...the Chiefs tackles held up and they also made some adjustments to chip him with TEs and RBs the way you do with good pass rushers, and overall they kept him in check and limited his pressures.
@@FSMWorshiper nah, believe what you want. He was getting pressures all night
As of Saturday, the NFL has yet to address it or comment on it. But, what are they going to say? The fix was in, except the Lions didn't buy into it. Kudos to them.
The fix was in. Pah
The fix doesn’t always have to be for final scores, think spreads, think all the different things you can bet on. Vegas knows what they’re doing
MCDC grit.
stfu - fix was in...except it wasn't.
😂😂😂 Right, because unlike every other team in the league, The Lions can beat the refs 😅 You're not too bright huh
Mike Trico said an asterisk should be put on this game because KC had 2 major players out. Rex Ryan said that KC should have an asterisk placed on them for lining up like this and cheating. 😊
Also it's kinda funny on all you heard was chiefs missing players. They never mentioned Emmanuel moseley and Jameson Williams missing who are 2 big players for the lions.
@@KishK99that part
When the Lions beat the Packers in the last game of the season last year, the guys that were discussing the game on one of the shows kept coming up with reasons why the Packers lost. Rex Ryan was there and said the Packers didn't lose the game, the Lions WON the game.
@KishK99 I was aware that the lions were missing players too. This is what Trico said. He did not mention what the lions were missing too.
Ah yes because Kelce is worth the same as those guys...
I think his asterisk comment was stupid though agreed
I LOVE that this vid wasn't done by a Lions fan! Even a Jags fan was offended by it not being called.
True fans want games to be called fairly, whether it's for their team or not.
I think the Jags are going to beat the Chiefs next week
The Jags are playing them next week, so it's not completely objective. Plus he was doing this in their favor last year, but we didn't hear anything then. Lol
I'm a chiefs fan, and this is just embarrassing to watch. Holding is meaningless these days unless you are on the wrong team at the wrong time. Roughing the passer is arbitrary. The last penalty that was objective was false starts... Now that is gone too. We're a small market team and for years this stuff always went against us before Mahomes came into the league. It is good that we get "our turn", but honestly it is a terrible look for the NFL as a whole.
I’m a Jets fan and I was screaming all night at it 😆😂
You all know Mahomes screen time in tv commercials during the breaks was way more than the amount of time he spent on the field. This was less about cheating the lions and more about protecting the NFLs meal ticket.
Good one and a true story 👍🏾
That’s funny 😂
His legend was created.. they needed a new face of the nfl.. a half black and half white face.. Problem is he needs lots of help to be successful.
Got away with a couple holds too on Hutchinson
The very first pass play the Chiefs ran made me think to myself that they had too many players in the backfield. They did.
Not just that.. the holding, and movements by the Chiefs was not called either...
movements haha yall stay mad clown ass boi
Every play that was a pass that dude false started. Also you can tell if the play is a run or pass btw his stance was. He was bottled up when running and wide open off the line when passing.
I heard a former NFL lineman talk about this and he said while it's possible the Lions used that to their advantage, he said it doesn't help as much as you think bc of play action, etc. I think the Lions just have super strong mental and they aren't the team that's going to whine or make excuses.
Lions picked up on it too, Hutch started doing other stuff based on how that clown was lining up
Just the fact that Hutch got ANY pressure while getting doubleteamed, chipped, AND going against an entire game of false starts is nuts.
If dude was lining up closer to the line, Hutch would have blown right past him on every play.
Don't forget the handful of plays where he was clearly held as well...
Crazy to see. As a Dolphins fan I am so happy to see Chiefs lose!
Let's not leave out the constant blatant holds...
I LOVE that the Lions still won even tho they did all this plus the no call holds all night!
its not really the false starts its the fact he's lined up illegally every single pass play
its both and all the holds too
Yep. With all the attention this got, I guarantee the league will be watching this closer, but the official on Taylor's side for the next Chiefs game will definitely be watching closer.
Jawan in the jaguars play the same way
@@jordanfollis7226it’s not false start if you read the rule book. But he is lined up illegal
@@andrewrobinson6320 he had a couple false starts not called but it was ticky tacky
Gives new meaning to "home cooking" - and you can bet the NFL front office was watching on in approval.
Goodell was at the game! He has no cell phone? He doesn't know the number to the office?
He doesn't care? He's corrupt?
Which is it?
Chiefs fan here and I fully admit it is both true and embarrassing. Family when I watched the game was like "why isn't he being called for offsides like every play?" No one had an answer why he was allowed to move so much before the ball was ever snapped. Plus he wasn't on the line of scrimmage as everyone else has stated.
Kudos to you for telling the truth and not making excuses respect
@@penguinslayer9457 Yeah it's clear as day at least 6 false starts and was lines up wayyy too far back. Embarrassment for the refs and the league.
Thank you!
Chiefs fan here and if you watched the super bowl you know Lane Johnson did the same thing last year. They just aren't calling it
@@timocruz510 Maybe the Lions should have tried it
F the NFL officials.
I think the Lions didn’t want to point this out because Hutch was dominating regardless, but there were so many missed holding calls as well that it really felt like the refs were trying to go as lenient on the Chiefs as possible.
That's how it is unfortunately. I have come to dislike the Chiefs very much because of this and learn Mahomo is very overrated. He's a good QB don't get me wrong but if he were on the Cardinals or Commanders he would not be the face of the NFL in the slightest
I also love how he is in the fucking backfield too
He either has the greatest get off of all time. Or, he in fact was going early like everybody including myself sees.
Don't EVER let your opponent know you've figured out their "tell".
I love how he even gets to freely cheat and gets thrown around like a ragdoll
Was waiting for this
Perfectly timed with the movement of the ball
sure, and trump never lies !
leek58 - you are right. All of these haters on here and they won't watch the film in slow mo....you can see him start his kick and back peddle precisely as the Center begins the snap. The movement is simultaneous...I learned this last year when Lane Johnson was doing it during the entire Superbowl...but Chris Collinsworth wasn't there to pretend like he knows the rules and harp on it during the broadcast. He's a joke.
Whoever made this did a whole lot of work, but still probably missed some! He does it so much.
He’s lined up so poorly that it’s affecting the rbs in the backfield on routes
As a chiefs fan, i dont know what the hell we are doing with taylor. I was calling it out before collingsworth did.
The Chiefs do this every single game and don’t get called for it. It’s ridiculous how the NFL plays favorites like that
The "favorites" idea needs to quit its a bit pathetic they're just bad across the board
@@the_lava_wielder6996 if you watch the chiefs without being bias then you’d know what everyone means.
@@the_lava_wielder6996 if it isn’t favorites wanna explain the false starts the entire game, the holding calls on Aiden that was called? I was even shocked that Detroit didn’t get a flag thrown when Mahomes threw that pick.
Bronco fans 😊
15 straight
Stop it.
Juwaan did do this all of last year. Playing for the jaguars. Nobody cared.
Also, he deserves some kind of Bill Belichik 3D credit for timing it so perfectly, to be so little early every time that they don’t call it.
I heard about this because I couldn't watch the game, so thank you for posting this. All I can say is, wow!
Lions fans don't watch the rest of the NFL or playoffs...this is done in Philly (their RT does it), Green Bay (their LT does it) and several other very good tackles time the snap and go simultaneously with the snap...it is NEVER called a false start because they are moving with the snap. It was called the one time because his front foot kicked back slight before the center began the snap...great job by the refs.
This game will change the entirety of the season for every other team/game. Between the illegal formation, false start, and holding penalties that were allowed and not called, they will have to keep a close eye on it now since everyone is talking about it even on a commentator level. Then everyone will see how much of a beast Aidan Hutchinson is once there is an even playing field!
00:01 - #52 arm bars the Dlineman, keeping him from even moving. Mahomes throws for a 1st down.
00:11 - #52 holds onto the Dlinemans jersey, keeping him from sacking Mahomes. Mahomes gains two yards instead of being sacked.
00:18 - #52 arm bars again, keeping the Dlineman out of the play completely. Mahomes runs for 1st down.
00:26 - #79 grabs the outside shoulder pads of the Dlineman and uses this to throw him to the ground instead of getting a sack. Mahomes runs for a 1st down.
00:56 - #65 is beaten by the Dlineman but holds onto him with his right arm, negating a sack. Mahomes throws short of 1st down.
01:24 - #62 is beat by the Dlineman and bear hugs the defender to keep him from getting a sack.
01:25 - (Same play) #79 is beaten by the Dlineman but holds his left shoulder jersey area with his right hand, completely turning the defender around. Mahomes runs for a 1st down.
01:40 - #52 blatantly holds the Dlinemans right shoulder jersey area of the defender, completely keeping him out of the play.
01:53 - #79 is beat by the Dlineman and shoves him to the ground from behind, a block in the back. #65 holds the Dlinemans jersey the entire play, negating any pass rush.
There were blatant and egregious penalties on all the timestamps I've pointed out and none of them were called. Slow it down to 0.5 speed and it gets worse. I'm glad people are realizing that the NFL is rigged. Popular NFL teams (e.g. Chiefs, Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, Packers, 49ers, etc) that bring in the most money are allowed to get away with cheating.
All that's missing is a missed penalty counter and a bell ding evertime it happens.
As a Lions fan I figured it was the NFL trying to protect it's MVP. If Taylor had to play fair against Hutch, Mahomes would have been flattened all game. They called it late in the game when it helped seal the win for the Lions.
The pass rush by the Lions was so good that the Chiefs had to create a new offensive line formation called the "Flying V".
Do every time he lined up behind the line too.
I don’t think the lions complained because he actually helped keep Patrick in the pocket 😂😂😂
- it also was a huge tell that it was a passing play.
We've installed an achilles heel that we should be able to exploit :) Duuuval won this one!
Not only was he leaving early but look how far back he's lining up. The top of his helmet should be past the waistline of the center. Pause @ 0.44 seconds and look how far back he is compared to the other tackle. The top of his helmet is like 1 and half feet behind the centers waistline. And he did this all game. This made Hutchinson have to run wide outside like 5 extra steps which was just enough to keep Hutchinson from getting his hands on Mahomes. Has Taylor not cheated all game, Hutchinson would've probably had like 5 sacks
Funny how this was never a topic of discussion until he joined KC....🤔
Philly fans aren't saying anything either because their RT does it...nobody cares. Once he moved from Jacksonville to KC - NOW it's a problem.
Detroit vs chiefs AND the ZEBRAS. Point closed. DETROIT VS EVERYBODY. Still got the W
#74 for KC was a literal player who was in getting his way the entire game.
Ah yes, brings back memories of NFL Officiating at its finest during the 2021 Ravens/Lions game when the Ravens' Justin Tucker kicked an NFL-record 66 yd. field goal. Refs missed a delay of game by the Ravens the play before the "Record Breaking" kick. This time tho...the Lions WON!!
I'll never forget that game, what a robbery they pulled on us
Ok, now do a video on every Eagles game last year with Lane Johnson.
I do agree he lined up too far back and the rocking was horrendous, but his timing was exactly what Lane Johnson does.
My point exactly...David B. LT Packers as well...they both do it. Watching the Superbowl I thought he was doing false starts too....then, I found out what he was doing and I was like, cool. He is taking a risk, but he is good at his job...so good for him. I now feel the same about how the Chief's RT is doing the same thing...he's an expert in his job and he knows what he is doing. Frankly, it's not a foul to move simultaneously with the ball...and that's what he was doing all night - with one legitimate false start.
Nobody has it better then lions and Wolverines fans 💪🏽〽️🦁
On one of the many shows I listened to after the game, someone said that this officiating crew had called the least amount of illegal procedure penalties last season.
I see two false starts..the rest is him being very quick, this dude is good hes timing the ball snap thats pretty impressive
Coming from a Jags fan, I wasn’t upset about him leaving
There are some plays where it definitely is a false start, but there’s some where if you watch it really slowly, he moves the second the center moves his arm to snap the ball. Either he is jumping and is too late or he can see the movement in his peripheral and uses that as his cue to move.
Btw the rule for false start is based off of the linesman front foot. He can move everything he wants, but until that front foot is moved it doesn't matter.
And Hutchinson still had seven pressures.
Not against the RT.
@ 1:49 his right foot is further back than any of the WR's on the LOS, and around a yard back of the rest of the offensive linemen.
The music makes this hilarious
It looked like the dude was holding Hutch and pulling on his Jersey on almost all of those videos. The REFs suck. Roger Goodell needs to be held accountable until he gets his referees in order.
I don't know why the chiefs let Orlando Brown go to the Bengals then shortly end up signing Jawaan Taylor with almost identical contract. Jawaan was supposed to play as LT.
He had nightmares from being on the jags when we played them!
We were built for this shit! - MCDC
0:44 holy shit how didn't they call that!?!?!
Refs need to call that early, if they do not, he will just keep doing it or wait until a crucial moment of the game to call it. I remember him doing this last year with his previous team.
You could’ve made your point better if you have showed the footage in slow motion . I have no doubt he did but he got away with it because the human eye needs to see it slower
Rules? We don't need stinking Rules!!!
He has always done this, not just in KC
That's the kind of pressure he brings, he didn't want none of that smoke, he should have had atleast three sacks and a couple more tackles.
He lined up in the backfield on every passing down it seemed.
Dude he was doing this all last night as well. I don’t understand why nothing is being done about this
Cry about it lmao
I remember this coming up with lane johnson. Almost all of these are not early but he is almost a yard further back than he should be
You mean almost all of them are early? He false started on every single example shown here
Lining up illegally you said should’ve been a penalty every time. Really weird because the league is normally super OCD on early movement and illegal formations.
Yeah I didn’t watch all games but I noticed this RT and Denver’s RT doing the same thing. I know Chiefs Tackles both hood a lot and are rarely called for it. Last year the Rams RT held so often in the Raiders game it seemed fake to watch refs ignore it because it happened literally every passing down. The NFL needs to correct this ASAP.
And just think the lions were able to win this game in spite of the refs and some of the commentators*****
It’s funny cuz Hutch was still taking his lunch money😂
Taylor knows he is not good enough......... I was yelling at the TV in the first quarter about this.
Taylor said it’s because he uses the snap count to his advantage. Don’t you think everyone would do this? They don’t because it would result in a false start nearly every play. Which is what Taylor was doing.
It's a new NFL rule. It's the Hutch Hitch. It can only be used against the Lions.
I didn't see you crying when Taylor was doing this last season in Jacksonville!
Now you're caring 😢 😅
new nickname,
Jawaan False Start Taylor.
Did you see how many times Hutch put a Tackle on their azz. ? 🤣
he was starting as soon as the center started to spike the ball so some of these werent false starts, or it was too close to call it.
I am all for less penalties slowing down the game but if it is blatant it needs to be called.
Refs do it to piss Lions fan off 😂😂😂Go Lions!! Lions against everybody!!
As a Lions fan i dont know whether to be upset or impressed haha
And not lining up on the line of scrimmage play after play. NFL needs to fix this now.
Crazy
This happens a lot more than you'd think. I see it every week. Taylor was ridiculous though. So obvious.
There's your asterisk, Mike Tirico! **************
That’s insane
That slowdown at 1:10. Was the ball in the air before his back foot touched the ground? If so it wasn't a false start. Same for every one of these.
Chiefs should be mad at everyone on the Chiefs sideline for not telling Jawaan he's constantly doing that all the time. It would have saved themselves when the penalty was called late on the drive.
He wasn’t false starting. Watch bret colleman if you think im wrong. Lane johnson and other lt do the same thing
Good anticipation by Taylor
The refs did not call the false starts and holding because if the refs starting actually calling the infractions, then the RT would be forced to line up correctly and not false start or hold. Hutchinson would have had 4-5 sacks and the NFL poster child, Mahomes, could have been hurt.
Stop it at :44 and you will see that the left tackle is off the line of scrimmage and so is the right tackle who is also moving early. That means only 3 lineman are on the line of scrimmage.
Its funny that a jaguars account is pointing this out when this is what he did for yall all year last year xD
I’m a lions fan and it is fucking ridiculous they didn’t call this the first time. When you call it late in the game like that for the first time it seems a bit fishy ngl
You forgot the times he did it when he was with the Jags. The guy's been doing it his entire career. Bosa got mad and tossed his helmet when the Chargers played the Jags when he did the exact same thing the whole game. You only notice it now that he's a Chief because of course there's some conspiracy to help the Chiefs win. 😅
He also lined up illegally 21 times. The new slot tackle position
If the rule book says that moving after you're set isn't a false start then the rule needs to be changed. Were they trying to keep the vegas spread?
No...but it says you can move at the snap of the ball, which is WHEN the center movies it. Simultaneous movement isn't a false start.
It's almost as though the center hiked the ball after his cue
