Using LED on old motorcycle - is it worth it?

- A while back I did Osram LED bulb review with intention to use in a standard car. This time project is motorcycle and video that covers the topic in more detail.
LEDs have matured and are fully compatible with vehicles that were built for incandescent bulbs. Big thanks goes to Osram for supplying their latest LED bulbs for this comparison review.
I hope you will enjoy it and find it helpful. Feel free to rate, comment and question.

You have been quite lucky to get years of acceptable service from any LED retrofit in a car or motorcycle -in my experience the heat dissipation and vibration destroys them quite quickly -sometimes it only takes a week until they start acting up -flickering, decreased light output and eventually total failure.
Those multi-LED "corn cob" designs are particularly bad, but single -LED designs can also start to flicker after a short while, before losing light output and eventually dying. LED retrofits may look novel and brighter at first, but definitely not as good in terms of longevity as conventional incandescents.
Hi. I must say I agree in general using no name brands from EBay and such. When it comes yo Osram and Philips though, I never had one fail. In fact I keep moving them from car to car when I change it. Possibly depends on electrics of the vehicle as well. Some brands are notorious for blowing bulbs.
@@Edsdrafts I admit most of my experiences with LED retrofits have been with questionable noname Chinese brands ...the more power they tried to pack-in, the less reliable they were, and most of those I tried were 5W T10 parking light replacements. Dual position/brake bulb retrofits were also no good after a year or so. The only somewhat reliable designs were those of modest power and simple resistive dropper design -but you lost most the extra brightness potential of using LEDs. All in all, I have replaced more LED retrofit bulb on 3 different vehicles over 14 years than I have incandescents -those rarely fail completely, they more commonly drop in light output.
