God, how he played in the movie " Carlito's Way "! Rather, he did not play, but lived his role on the screen. I just physically felt Carlito die when he was being wheeled at the end of the movie on a gurney.. "Dreams don't come true on their own, they need to be caught up." What strikes me most about al Pacino is his eyes - huge, dark brown, tragic. The eyes of a wise dog-a tramp, homeless, beaten by life. I liked Al Pacino best in both The Godfather (1972) and The Irishman (2019). I also liked him in Serpico (1973), The Godfather: Part II (1974), Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), Scent of a Woman (1992; won an Academy Award for Best Actor), Donnie Brasco (1997) and Insider (1999).
I like to watch people who have stories play their part in different movies, Al Pacino just like one of them,no matter how crazy movie line,that will turn out to be acceptable and make sense

For some reason I didn't like Dog Day afternoon, nor Serpico. They were boring AF. However I think Devil's advocate is one of the best movies ever made, not just Pacino's and it should be in top 5. Otherwise, the list is pretty good.
The story reminds me, of the battle of Rorke’s drift garrison. 150 British troops against 4000 Zulu worriers. The gruesome battle took 11 days of sacrifice on both sides, and finally, the defending forces won the war.

This list is oddly 90s centric - with 6 films selected from that decade, and 'Scent of a Woman' wildly overrated. As others have said, 'Scarecrow', 'You Don't Know Jack' (even though it is HBO, rather than a cinema release) and 'Serpico' should have been in the top 10. Nevertheless, pleased to see Glengarry Glen Ross and The Insider on the list.

SCARECROW is an underrated performance and so is PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK. People forget that Pacino plays vulnerable in a very nuanced and authentic way.
Panic in needle park was trash it was a great role he played. But movie was trash dumb ending
