Welcome back to the Bible is Art where we explore the literary artistry of the Bible and this week we’re talking about where Ezekiel’s New Temple is.
Ezekiel is a strange book and its strange in many ways. One of the ways it is strange is that there are a lot of numbers in Ezekiel. And these numbers come in two forms. First, there are dates and second, there are measurements.
Regarding the first, there are more dates in Ezekiel than any other book in the Bible, 14 in total. And most of the time they’re very precise, including the year, month, and day. For instance, in the first verse of Ezekiel it says, “In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month…” So why all these dates?
Some have thought that they relate to something that happened on or around those dates that we might know about from other sources inside or outside the Bible, but the problem is that we can’t make it work, most of them don’t really line up with other events we know about. Now it’s certainly possible that it may relate to other events, but before offer that explanation, let’s see if there’s any other explanation that might be more credible and explanatorily powerful.
Furthermore, to use a wonderful phrase from pastor Brandon Levering, the Bible is a relatively closed cognitive environment. That is, most of the meaning can be found inside the Bible, not in external sources.
The second set of numbers are measurements. The last major section of Ezekiel, chapters 40-48, describe a new temple. And Ezekiel is brought on a guided tour through this temple and the tour guide describes tons of measurements and quantities: walls, doors, rooms, etc. And once again, we wonder, why are we told this.
Well, there’s a fascinating connection between these two sets of numbers, these dates and measurements, and that is that most of the numbers in the dates are also found in the measurements. So the dates are repeated in the measurements of the temple.
Here are some of the connections between the dates and the measurement and quantities in the Temple. For instance, the first date, in Ezekiel 1:1, “In the thirtieth year…” And in the outer court of the temple there are thirty chambers. Also, in the temple building proper there are 30 side chambers on each three stories.
Or in Ezekiel 29:1 the date is the 10th year, 10th month, and 12th day of the month and you have ten steps, things measuring 10 cubits, and twelve gates. And on and on the connections go. Out of the 40 numbers there are 39 matches to measurements or quantities in the Temple.
Now I’m not saying these dates have direct connections to their corresponding measurements, like the 7th month corresponds to the 7 steps, because I don’t think that’s true. But, the author of Ezekiel is making the is connection by duplicating those numbers because he wants us to push us to understand that these two things are related.
And the connection that the author wants us to make is that the book itself is Ezekiel‘s temple, not fully but partly. That is the readers of this book back in Ezekiel‘s day and today are already participating in the new temple.

This is what I call a divine revelation. Absolutely amazing and astounding.
I have seen in the past, the artistry in Jesus calling John the Baptist "Elijah", because when John testifies that the Holy Spirit fell upon Jesus, it calls to mind the dove that Noah sent out of the ark in search for land, but never came back. That dove rested on Jesus, and Elijah, being John the Baptist, finally got to see salvation. John being Elijah, was beheaded by the unfulfilled request by Jezebel, who failed to kill Elijah, but whose Spirit in Herodias killed John.
I love finding these Spirit-lead connections, and your channel is a WEALTH of such connections. May God bless your ministry, because this is awe-inspiring material to me.

Thats really good the dove did not come back till John. Meaning spirit. Had no place to lay its head till Jesus , Jesus has no place to lay his head Till Paul was beheaded. I can prove that if you like .

Error in date. Ezekiel 40:1 is Yom Kippur, the 10th day of the 7th month (the beginning of the year is the 1st day of the 7th month). "That very day" is a euphemism for Yom Kippur. On Yom Kippur the eastern gate of the Temple will be closed at the 7th trumpet.

How does the Body of Christ/the Church aka the new temple relate to Ezekiel's temple? Christ refers to His own body as the temple when He makes the 'if you tear down this temple, in three days I will raise it up' comment. What relationship do you see here?

Great question! Like the tabernacle of Moses and Soloman's temple. It's all types and shadows. Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, [and] not the
very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year
by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect
Hebrews 8:5-6 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as
Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for,
See, saith he, [that] thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee
in the mount. 6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how
much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon
      better promises.
Hebrews 9:1 Then verily the first [covenant] had also ordinances of divine
      service, and a worldly sanctuary.
Believe it or not, God is going to make a 3erd covenant! How do I know?
Everything In God's word is in 3es
This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. 2Co 6:16
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk-in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
      Rev 21:3
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
      Rev 3:12
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Notice "I will write upon him my new name" This is a covenant let's look at the type and shadow in the old testament. To prove this is a covenant/
      Genesis 32:29
29 Then Jacob asked him, “Please tell me your name.” But he said, l“Why is it that you ask my name?” And there he blessed him. What was Jacobs's blessing? Remember Jacob god the birthright and the blessing. SO the birthright old testament new testament the blessing. but what blessing did God give Jacob when Jacob already had the blessing of God? A new covenant, His name was Jacob trickster supplanter lier cheat. Remember
      Rom 9:13
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. If God is love why the hate ? Because Esau was to have both birthright and blessing being the oldest. But What did he tell Jacob when Jacob and he met?
gen 33:8“What do you mean by sending this whole company to meet me?” asked Esau.
“To find favor in your sight, my lord,” Jacob answered.
9“I already have plenty, my brother,” Esau replied. “Keep what belongs to you.”
10But Jacob insisted, “No, please! If I have found favor in your sight, then receive this gift from my hand. For indeed, I have seen your face, and it is like seeing the face of God since you have received me favorably. 11Please accept my gift that was brought to you, because God has been gracious to me and I have all I need.” So Jacob pressed him until he accepted.
Notice " I already have plenty, my brother,” Esau replied. “Keep what belongs
to you. Esau said he had plenty But where did he get plenty from From His strong arm from self, not from God. He said I have plenty without the birthright or God's blessing. That is why God hates Esau not him the person but the spirit he had the spirit of self-power. Now, what in the world does that have to do with the 3erd convenience? everything. Blessing and birthright, two covenants, The first covenant was birthright God told Jacob
      Gen 32:12
And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude. the first convenient, Just like God made a covenant with Abraham,
the covenant of the blessing is proof here in Gen 32:13
      And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother;
      Gen 32:14
Two hundred she goats, and twenty he goats, two hundred ewes, and twenty rams,
      Gen 32:15
Thirty milch camels with their colts, forty kine, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals.
But what is the third covenant? How did God bless Jacob?
      Gen 32:26
And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
      Gen 32:27
and he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
      Gen 32:28
And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
      Gen 32:29
And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. God blessed him there. What was the blessing? The blessing was the 3erd covenant the name change.
The name change from Jacob to Israel. from trickster to prince of God. Why do you think all these name changes are in the bible, just for fun? No! It means their nature. The nature of the thing. So the name denotes nature, then what nature are we going to get changed to then if that's true.
      Isa 62:2
and the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.
      Rev 2:17
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Ask yourself what is the hidden manna?
Jhn 6:48 I am that bread of life.
Jhn 6:50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. Do we die? Yes! So we eat Jesus but still die why?
Jhn 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
Jhn 6:58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live forever.
Notice . "will give him a white stone, and in the stone" We are to be living stones are we not? But are we really? No! We are not yet, are we? So what needs to happen to us to become these living white stones / notice the word white, White is not mean there racists It means purity, in fact, it means sinless Rev 19:8
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. hows righteousness do we have? None of our own, we must put on the Christ.
"and in the stone, a new name is written, " New nature! Ya! I know this is long, Ill rape it up by saying there is a lot of promises in the new and old testament that are not yet fulfilled. Because they have to do with the third convenient. Just one more thing to ponder that is if you still with me.

part two 2 C5:20For the creation was subjected to futility, not by its own will, but because of the One who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. You might miss it if I don't point it out. This is saying all creation is moaning and groaning for the second coming of Jesus Christ? NO! Why not? the church system of today is. They say the rapture is any day now, they're looking to fly away, NO! What is all creation crying out for? Notice what it's not crying out for! The second coming! The Rapture or Jesus return to earth to set in the temple of God. To overthrow the devil the Fales prophet the antichrist and all the governments of the world then rule and rain on His throne and in his kingdom! Why doesn't Paul say that? Why does Paul say the manifestation of the sons of God, but leaves out Jesus Christ second coming or the revelation ( Jesus Reviled as in the book of revelation ) Why did paul leave all out Jesus Christ together? He did not even hint about the second coming.
Because he is talking about the 3erd tabernacle or temple or the third covenant. eze temple.
Here is where I get it from. We are the temple or tabernacle right? right! 22We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until the present time. 23Not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies Eze 41:1
Afterward he brought me to the temple and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, the breadth of the tabernacle. here we see Eze 41:1 that tab and temple
My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
here again the same promise of god this promise is in relation. Not yet fulfilled this is the third covenant

Third and last part > We read Jhn 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

notice I will dwell in them, Dwell in them? Second coming? and walk in them;? Second coming? and I will be their God? second coming? Why is this not a new covenant? God Has promised this to only the overcomers. The seven letters to the overcome is the third covenant the number seven also means covenant
      Heb 8:8
For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah :Heb 8:10
notice it says the house of Israel and house of Judah
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind
Has God done that yet? No, this covenant has not come about has it? Remember this is the new covenant he is making,\
and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God and shall be to me a people: Has this new covenant put the law on their hearts? NO!
Now Notice here God says the only house of Isreal /Why? One house! No more separation, also Includes the genitals lets read it Heb 8:10
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: only tells of Isreal not the house of Judah. what happen to the house of juda h
      Heb 8:11
And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest
OK this new covenant God made says If you believe this is only Israel and the NewTestament convenient, DO Jews do this > No Jew needs to teach his neighbour, and his brother All know the lord? SO Right here proves there has to be the third covenant.
Jhn 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
Who is the temple of Jesus? You ! we are on the third day. 2Co 6:16
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
notice I will dwell in them, Dwell in them? Second coming? and walk in them;? Second coming? and I will be their God? second coming? The second coming is Christ building Ezekiel's temple in you, Why is this not a new covenant? God Has promised this only to the overcomers. The seven letters to the seven churches are the new covenant! to seven one's self is to cut a covenant. Now, Jesus might come back he might not come back in his resurrected body, I personally don't believe so He never left, how can he come back, he is in us the hope of glory.

Joseph Eidsvik good question. There are multiple levels of meaning in all great works of art (see my first couple of videos). And the more times you read it and the more skilled you become, the more you can understand. So the meaning is absolutely clear, Gods going to build a big beautiful temple, but the more you read the more you understand. Water is simple. The dominant theme of the book of Ezekiel is the “day of the Lord,” which the prophet sees approaching as a consequence of the sins of Judah where Jerusalem resides. A remnant will be saved (the “humble and lowly”) through purification by judgment. You have been told it's in our time or our future. It was talking about the “Day of the Lord Jesus” coming to Jerusalem (Judah) 2000 years ago to purify all that believed he was sent by God himself. The forgiving of sins is what would purify them. Jerusalem is the first sea beast in revelation. It's called the sea beast because it is that group of people that came out of Egypt and crossed the red sea. The believers in Jesus would not be Judged but the rest of those were judged in 70 AD when all of Judah and Jerusalem were destroyed. Jesus told the Apostles (The Believers) all the unbelievers would be Judged to destruction. Mat_24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? (looking over Jerusalem) verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. But there is that second earth beast of revelation which calls itself Israel today that has been healed of that deadly wound of 70 AD and has the nation leaders worship it at its Idol the wailing wall. So when was the temple rebuilt? Jesus said Mat_12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the (physical) temple. Joh_2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up”. The new temple was rebuilt right then. Jesus rose from the dead as the new temple. Rev_3:12 Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is NEW JERUSALEM, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. It was Jesus that was sent by God and came from heaven into Mary's womb who is now the spiritual New Jerusalem and temple. Jesus is the third temple. The Jews will tell you they have to build the third temple because they don't believe in Jesus. The temple mentioned in Ezekiel is a spiritual one as in the body of Christ. What is God doing when he talks of measurements and dates? This is a rhetorical question. What are we dealing with now and what have we been dealing with since the reformation? Science. The science to disprove God's word. Why measurements and dates? Because science cannot disprove them. They are concise and exact, nothing more and nothing less. God's word is eternal and always exact. When God speaks, there is nothing to interpret. He says what He means and means what He says, thusly, "I have spoken."

HE DOES NOT DWELL IN A HOUSE MADE OF MANS HANDS, I GO AND PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU. ECT. EZEKIEL 40:4 "FOR TO THE INTENT THAT I MIGHT *SHEW* THEM UNTO THEE ART THOU BROUGHT HITHER". HES SHOWN THE VISION OF THE FUTURE KINGDOM OF GOD, WASN'T INSTRUCTED TO BUILD.
