It is beneficial to have a second kitchen for our cooking style, especially if we have an open kitchen concept.
Very informative, was worth the time... I'm in dilemma, dish washer is a necessity but when i did my home 10yrs back, I felt that to be an extravagant, but regretting it big time.. to accomodate it now I will have to redo the entire space.
If the height of your counter top is 35 or 36 inches, you can fit in a built in dishwasher ( cost will be slightly more than a self standing dishwasher but you will save money on other renovation work)
Wish you luck! But a dishwasher is worth every penny and you will not regret it

Biggest trend-mistake is to make an open plan kitchen copying the oven baking-roasting western style, it's not suitable for Indian cooking unless the entire family/ visitors want to bask in all the curry /meat/ fish flavours and smells. The reason why there's a show kitchen and a functional cooking kitchen.
Good information. It would have been more helpful if you had used photos of Indian kitchens rather than US/Euro kitchens as examples.

@@raspberries123 There is nothing that lasts forever! But a budget friendly option for kitchen cabinets is water proof ply with laminate. Insist on a factory finish so that the edges are neatly rounded.

@@sulthantejinn There are plenty of solutions for this but what I have observed is that, we Malayalis have a lot of plates and other utensils. I have used similar racks earlier and I felt they are impractical for my way of using the kitchen. Sometimes I have observed that people take pains to wipe the plates with a neat cloth and store them. That take a lot of time for me. I will talk about this in one of my videos

My ammayi,who mentioned above used to wipe her dishes with a towel before placing into the cupboard at earlier times…as time passed she fed up with the idea of wiping it as there are many chores even she has helping hands and ended up with a dish rack placed on the countertop,
I hate the idea of placing anything on it apart from some heavy appliances such as stand mixers, i love the idea of keeping it hidden 😁😁😁😁😁

The most common reason for leak and seepage is because of poor installation of counter top. When you do a concrete slab, your kitchen can’t be called modular.
It is true that you have to maintain your modular kitchen very well and inspect for any leak often. If there is a leak, in the early stages, it can be rectified
@@sunithap9936yes you are correct 😊 ..a concrete slab doesn’t give that “modular “ look as you mentioned…its that both she and her husband prefer stronger countertop rather than the looks and less maintenance ,

I have completed my house, in 2023.Kitchen cabinet is made up of ACP sheets. But now I am facing leakage in sink bottom.The sink is placed under the granite. Also applied epoxy on the side of sink. But under the sink waterdrops can be seen. What should I do in your opinion.? Should all things should be reinstalled? Please reply.
@ This is a very upsetting situation since your kitchen is almost new! I don’t know to what extent the damage is but I am afraid, the leak is happening because of unprofessional installation. Sorry to hear that! Consult a good company/ granite installation person and check the extent of the damage. I think they will be able to fix the issue . And if you have to redo the sink part alone, please be open to that!

@@anuajai3209 Thanks so much! The information you have provided is very limited and it would be risky for me to advice you based on that! However, if the backsplash tiles are off white and brown, you should look at shades of off white , beige, taupe, coffee, Irish coffee, wedge, walnut etc. basically about pure white and grey family. Instead look for mood boards for brown shades. Online you will get lots of options

I suggest you should have a work area for extra errands like grinder( that’s noisy if kept in the open kitchen), a sink to wash bigger vessels , your washing machine can also be kept there.
What I meant was it’s absolutely wasteful to have two full fledged kitchens in the house and not utilizing the main kitchen( keeping it as a show kitchen). A small work area , if space and budget permits, is a good idea dear

Open kitchen ഞാന്‍ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നില്ല. എന്നാൽ clossed kitchen അല്ല dining separately ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്‌ ആണ്. So kitchenil തന്നെ എല്ലാ machines വയ്ക്കാന്‍ ഉള്ള spaces വച്ച് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു washing machine room separately .vayassakumpol ഇതൊക്കെ cleaning difficult ആകും അതുകൊണ്ട് എല്ലാം കൈയെത്തും ദൂരത്തു ആക്കണം

I am a very practical person when it comes to balancing aesthetics and user friendliness! I do have an elaborate wooden kitchen which is not as easy to clean like a laminate kitchen. But I enjoy it! Otherwise my house has simple furniture etc!
