Great shoe, and a I wish I had this release. I obviously have the 2012? Release. Last month I picked up the 2002 j7 "raptor" which I obviously wearable because of the internalized air unit. You should be ok wearing these. My 06 stealth 5s are still going strong.
I think they’re great! Why can’t they make em like this now? I recently got the J7 Bordeaux from 2015 which I lost somehow so needed a new pair and it just feels nicer in shape than recent 7s... is it just me or was it better in the past?
@@yassver 2000-2006 was the best quality imho. Hopefully the remastered "raptor" 7s will be top quality when released around the 30th anniversary. A remastered Bordeaux would be great too.

i recently bought a pair of the 06 black tongue fives as well. Lightly worn because I remember you saying in an old vid the same thing about the midsole. Haven’t worn em much but after watching this vid i might have to bring em out again!
My 04 j2 Chicago and 06 stealth 5s are still holding up under foot. Same goes with my 02 raptor 7s and 06 citrus 7s, but they'll obviously last for another 10 to 20 years yet, as long as the midsole stays bonded to the upper.
I picked up a pair of Mars Blackmon 4s from... well 2006 and I'm wearing them.. yes I worked at niketown and picked up everything in 2006.. yes dmps too
I finally managed to get the black cement 3s from 2018 & the Jordan 6 infrared from 2019, back then I couldn’t afford either but very glad to finally have them both 🙏🏻 glad you got your grails man💪
Got a Kobe 9 EM pair yesterday for about 5500 pesos in the Philippines (110 USD) and it's in good quality. Slightly used. After the Bryants' falling with Nike, you'd think people would hang on to their old Kobes or resell them for insane prices. But the seller said he's switching hobbies to NBA cards so Yey me!
I got the fresh prince version and punched lace holes. I adore them. Leather is pretty dang nice for a 5, and they are JUST BEAUTIFUL. The grapes are all time faves. I borrowed them in high school for a while, so they were 100% a grail when I got the most recent release. I never saw the 2006 in person, and I’m a bit of a snob about the Jumpman on the back… but there’s no denying how different the quality is. HAPPY FOR YOU… great pickup.

Most recent old school pick up is a pair of Jordan 13’s Playoff Colorway from 1997 (OGs)- in pretty good condition- just needs tidied up and the holograms need carefully blow dried. I was the only bidder and got them for $125... 😐 Couldn’t believe it! Keep up the great work- best sneaker channel period.

Hope you would’ve mentioned this but one of my favorite things about this retro (& all the ones from the early 2000s-mid 200s) was the little, small details they got right that made them closer to the originals...which is the way the ankle/collar piece was a different leather (texture & a slightly off white or eggshell color) from the heel piece & the rest of the shoe. Really mimicked the durabuck from 1990.
Dope video. I actually still have a bunch of retro cards, and a framed Wings poster. I recently picked up a pair of Air Jordan 14's in the white and chutney colorway from 2005/2006. They're in decent shape, and they seem like they're made better than some of the later more recent releases. I love the daily history lessons that come with your videos,keep it going!

Such a solid pickup. My best recent pick up is a pair of Converse Star Wave from 1989. Some solid shoes that are still wearable. Plus, the shape of the toe box is excellent.
My favorite obscure pickup recently because I love tech, were the NikeSB AirForce 2 low Foamposite. So comfy and weird but I love the look and all the "futuristic" tech in it

In the UK these were only available from Nike Town in London. You couldn't pre-order so had to go down and queue up. I managed to cop a pair but had to make do with a half size down as my size was already sold out by the time I'd got into the store (8am and about a hundredth in line). Michael Jordan himself was there, he was behind this glass partition so you had to queue up again if you wanted to meet him (I didn't bother!), but that's how big a deal the Grapes we're back then. Happy days, none of this L crap on SNKRS like we have now...

After the 1s my favorites Jordans are 5s, I just did a custom on a pair of 5s white cement, I paint the white plastic tabs when the laces run and turn them into gray cement with the splatter black paint just like the one on the top and swapped the white laces for black ones, waiting for them to fully dry to see how they really will look. I am thinking on getting some grapes soon too.
I swooped up some laney 5s(2013 retro) a few months ago in like new condition for $140 on goat. Going back to the vault to pick up the older stuff fun. I picked up the pippen 1 Seattle lottery draft hoh retro lightly used for about $100 or $90....they use to be $300 easy in 2013/2014.
All of my air Jordan 5s are still wearable from 2006 and I believe these is Right around when thay switched to the closed cell polyurethane instead of the open cell
Best recent pick up that’s not a recent release: a beautifully aged 2016 metallic Jordan 5, that’s right the one with the Nike air on the back. The yellow outsole looks 🤤

I genuinely miss retro cards. I remember that the retro program was suppose to rerelease shoes at the same price point as when they were originally. That’s what my ‘99 3M and black/silver retro Vs were when I got them. However I understand inflation and all the other stuff too. 🤷🏽♂️
A few months ago, I picked up a pair of Stealth 23s ( still wearable) . Although now, they are going to need some shoe glue love. A little bit of the outsole is starting to talk. Same story with my Converse Wade 1s.
I felt the same way in 2015 after drooling for 19 years and finally getting some 2011 bodeauxz which r my fav of the 3 releases.... but just recently my 2011 upper started to fall apart.... and I sold my other 2 ds pairs like a dumbass at consignment (140 I was desperate for international flight 12s which sat smmfh) and return due to paying pre-sale 380 and getting a 13 instead of the 12.5 I ordered respectively.... so after looking at prices at ds 2011 and conditions of used pairs all having uppers ripping open, I decided to go with a relatively cheap (226 free shipping) near ds pair of 2015z which I previously h8ted due to the midsole paint not matching and the cardboard feeling upper.... I was so elated when they arrived!!!! They had some wear but were like new and the one knocc I had on the 2011 pair was no lime green hits like the 92 og but the 2015 at least had it on the outsole which means if I wanted I could paint the midsole lighter graphite and the bacctab 7 lime green and I would b complete.... custom coming vid soon on my all time grailz.... also finally found some fat grey and maroon plaid lacez that set it tf off

What a great pickup! Awesome shoe! The quality is great! By the way, don't let any water or moisture get to the midsole. Water will breakdown the polyurethane in the midsole, it's called Hydrolysis.

My best recent pickup that is not a recent shoe was a lightly used pair of the Nike Dunk High Premiums from 2007 in the Bo Knows Pine Green color. It was the first pair of shoes I bought with my own money pushing carts at a grocery store and I annihilated my original pair.
I recently sold me 2013 grape pair still in good condition. Top 3 jordan 5 colorway for me i love how they look once they start to yellow from the netting and soles. Going to let my raging bulls 5s sit for a while until they start to yellow before i wear them.
I started collecting Jordan V's when they dropped in 2006, i grabbed almost every colorway back then and still own them. I have these as well, had to repaint them about a year or two ago because the original paint started to crack. But the quality of the build and the leather is great. And indeed, if they're broken in you can still wear them. I still do.
I actually sold my deadstock pair on goat last August. Grape 5’s are one of my favorites but like you said they were approaching 15 yrs old so I probably wouldn’t have worn them long if I decided to. Hopefully Jordan brand will release them again soon
Man 2013 model gets so much backlash, it’s still a dope ass shoe man, quality....I mean I get it but it’s not 2013 anymore so this will still bring that nostalgia feeling fo sho , I’ll take those brick, build my 🏰, stay up ,love your movement 💯
Air Jordan team 9.5 😂 was my recent pick up. I like the random Jordan’s at times. At some point this year I’ll be grabbing some fusion 3 cements. Gotta rock what you like!
I have a pair of the stealths from 2006 and the panels and tongue are suuuuuper yellow. Those musta only been 'lightly worn' inside lol. Nice pickup - I've also been grabbing stuff from times of old that no one else cares about - Jordan 2s in particular.
Nice. Still go my stealth 5s from then, and they're still going strong. Bit yellow but not too much. My 2004 jordan 2 Chicago still ok too. Do you use silica packets in your shoebox? It helps.
I agree with adding the post cards or some sort of little extra. For the price we are paying just give a little something something, a sticker, a piece of paper with Jordan's name on it written with permanent marker or something lol. "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary, is that little extra"
The cut and profile of this release (including black metalics) were just too dope. Ran small but looked sleeker. I still have my Black Metallics 2006, finally crumbled tho.

Air Jordan 8 Alternate Bugs Bunny I think is the name of them. Looks like the Bugs Bunny 8s without the grey. Got them off StockX for what I felt like was a fair price considering.
I remember that I saw them in 1990. I think it was in a British hip hop magazine. We couldn't get these in the Netherlands. If I wanted to order them I had to send in the page of the magazine which doubled as an order card 🙈. With shipping and the exchange rate from Pounds to Dutch Gulden, made them to expensive.
I remember I told my girl one time...right after I got my license, to sleep early that night , we are going on a trip. Little did she know we were going to a Manhattan footlocker to camp out for White Cement 4s cause they were rumored to have the most pairs. So I know the face Mrs wing probably gave you that day lol maybe more anger tho
Just an fyi, 135 in 2006 adjusted for inflation would be around $179 now, so it's not like they actually raised the price that much. $125 in 1990 adjusted for inflation would be around $250 now so the original pair were more expensive than nowadays

Favorite non-new release pick up are the Adidas KB8 All-Star. Slightly used, but definitely a grail of mine since I was in Junior High.
Literally my favorite shoe of all time even though I've never owned them lol. Had to settle for the alternate grapes for now. Great video

On eBay I recently bought the OG pro strong and the 93’ force max cb for a steal! You’re right they really don’t make em like they used too.

What a great pickup! Awesome shoe! The quality is great! By the way, don't let any water or moisture get to the midsole. Water will breakdown the polyurethane in the midsole, it's called Hydrolysis.

My best recent pickup that is not a recent shoe was a lightly used pair of the Nike Dunk High Premiums from 2007 in the Bo Knows Pine Green color. It was the first pair of shoes I bought with my own money pushing carts at a grocery store and I annihilated my original pair.
I recently sold me 2013 grape pair still in good condition. Top 3 jordan 5 colorway for me i love how they look once they start to yellow from the netting and soles. Going to let my raging bulls 5s sit for a while until they start to yellow before i wear them.
I started collecting Jordan V's when they dropped in 2006, i grabbed almost every colorway back then and still own them. I have these as well, had to repaint them about a year or two ago because the original paint started to crack. But the quality of the build and the leather is great. And indeed, if they're broken in you can still wear them. I still do.
I actually sold my deadstock pair on goat last August. Grape 5’s are one of my favorites but like you said they were approaching 15 yrs old so I probably wouldn’t have worn them long if I decided to. Hopefully Jordan brand will release them again soon

Air Jordan team 9.5 😂 was my recent pick up. I like the random Jordan’s at times. At some point this year I’ll be grabbing some fusion 3 cements. Gotta rock what you like!
I have a pair of the stealths from 2006 and the panels and tongue are suuuuuper yellow. Those musta only been 'lightly worn' inside lol. Nice pickup - I've also been grabbing stuff from times of old that no one else cares about - Jordan 2s in particular.
Nice. Still go my stealth 5s from then, and they're still going strong. Bit yellow but not too much. My 2004 jordan 2 Chicago still ok too.
Do you use silica packets in your shoebox? It helps.

I agree with adding the post cards or some sort of little extra. For the price we are paying just give a little something something, a sticker, a piece of paper with Jordan's name on it written with permanent marker or something lol. "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary, is that little extra"

Picked up some lightly used pantone 7s. Cleaning them up today actually. Can't wait to get them on feet
The cut and profile of this release (including black metalics) were just too dope. Ran small but looked sleeker. I still have my Black Metallics 2006, finally crumbled tho.

Air Jordan 8 Alternate Bugs Bunny I think is the name of them. Looks like the Bugs Bunny 8s without the grey. Got them off StockX for what I felt like was a fair price considering.

I remember that I saw them in 1990. I think it was in a British hip hop magazine. We couldn't get these in the Netherlands. If I wanted to order them I had to send in the page of the magazine which doubled as an order card 🙈. With shipping and the exchange rate from Pounds to Dutch Gulden, made them to expensive.
I wish my Top '3' 5's had the OG grape thinner tongue. The tongue is way too puffy, not like OG or retro Grape.

Just an fyi, 135 in 2006 adjusted for inflation would be around $179 now, so it's not like they actually raised the price that much. $125 in 1990 adjusted for inflation would be around $250 now so the original pair were more expensive than nowadays
