    A lot of Pro racer use this type of Motor Break-in, including me~~ it is really safe, never ruin any motor after I start to use this style of break in. Unlike most of rumor in Internet, some people soaking the motor in Zippo lighter fluid and power on inside of lighter fluid, That may cause the motor "Quick break in" and ruin the brushing and communicator, Eventually the most will have a "jumpy" RPM
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    This video will show you the more safe and more efficiency way to break in motor by "Using a Slave motor to break in "
    When properly broken in, a motor can achieve a 10% to 20% increase in power over a motor that has not been broken in.
    Using a slave motor allows the motor to break in without running under its own power (which heats everything up and glazes the bushings, preventing a quick break in). Properly seating the bushings will increase performance by reducing drag. If you run the motor under its own power to break it in, you risk heating and glazing the bushing surface where the armature pole makes contact. A glazed surface will be harder to wear in. When running the motor under its own power arching occurs that may pit the brushes and communicator before the communicator can be properly worn in by the brushes. Using a slave motor will drastically reduce the amount of arching. Note that the only way to remove arching completely on the new motor would be to remove one brush and break each brush in individually.

    This youtube channel is one of my favourites. Thanks to you I started to look for information of all those Mini 4WD and Dangun Racers. Now I have ordered Mad Cobra (Dangun), Neo Falcon, Aero Avante and Tri Gale for me and my friends. Thank you for introducing me into another time and money stealing hobby from Japan xD

  • @hanzkristoffervelandria5117

    Better to tape the motor on a surface other than the cutting mat. The cutting mat will be damaged by the heat. It'll not melt but it'll not heal anymore when you cut it.

  • @Ramp10er

    Z dash is the fastest... The magnet in the other motor is weak that is why it's squeking... The carbon terminal/Special reinforcement is dirty use a contact cleaner and use it also on the copper plated in your motor. Clean it with the fine sandpaper/just a clean cloth... Change the wire motor to a thicker one, that will put out some real speed... Nice hobby... Won so many...

    sir may i ask, have you ever tried using a slave motor with a higher rpm than the motor-you-break-in?
    if this is a hypothesis, what could be the possible result?
    thank you

  • @kurtvallo9202
    @kurtvallo9202 5 лет назад

    Mad tang i wanna ask if you need to repeat it in. Reversed way again or just break in in one way like u break in it in positive only or break in it in positive and after break in it in negative?

    • @MadTangmini4wd
      @MadTangmini4wd  5 лет назад

      Stirrer YT all FMA chassis is going different direction to VS/s2/xx/s1/AR/. I won’t mix motor , due to my experience sometimes motor get ruin by running reverses ... but most of time I was too lazy to organize my motor. Of course better not,

    • @kurtvallo9202
      @kurtvallo9202 5 лет назад

      So since fm chassis motors are going counterclockwise and clockwise for non fm so ifim going to break in and my chassis is CFM chassis im going to break it in in counterclockwise direction and better not to reverse it right?

    Hi, Mad tang. I'm Korean and I always appreciate to your guide and lesson.
    Today I have ONE question, and you can cease my agony.
    What is the best (or your favorite) Chassis for World Class mini4wd Car?
    As your guide, I made a MA Chassis car few weeks ago.
    BUT someone says that MA or MS Chassis for World Class ROLL from side to side, especially when it JUMPS. So they say S2 or VS Chassis is better for the Word Class car. Is it true?
    I wanna hear your opinion. I love MA Chassis, so I don't want to give it up. I have a plan to make the '2014 japan cup champion car', but it is MA Chassis too. I'm really being in agony.

    • @MadTangmini4wd
      @MadTangmini4wd  9 лет назад +1

      허윤회 Actually~~ it is true~~ I actually use Super II and VS a lot... But MA is good start for Freshman racer, due to MA has alot of mounting point and easy to setup transmission. And VS and Super 2 , they are fast and stable (if modified correctly) but they require high level of skill and handmade, very complicated on setup, so it is not recommend to newbie racer. I believe every chassis has its own advantage and disadvantage. it is really depend on your skill and experience to fix all the disadvantage to become your advantage. So when you watch my new video of VS process, you will notice I slowly and slowly fix all the VS disadvantage. This is how you build your car... you can listen to other people option, but dont give up on current what you have. There is absolute fastest or advantage, because all of these is rely on yourself (how you modified your car, and fix all the problem) , You can try to start with Super II if you wanna try, and compare the speed versus MA. But for sure , if you didnt know how to setup super 2 transmission, and setup, the MA will be faster due to the midship transmission design which more reliable. last year Japan world Champion was using MA chassis and heavy alumiun wheel.... so, this tell you , on race, there is no absolutely fastest and best..... 50% luck plus 50% skill and experience.....

      Aluminum wheel have gyro effect... that why it will eliminate abou 80% rool.. but it need relly need straige Underguard...

      Mad Tang in Malaysian, Super 2 chasis have 99% of winning compare to MA & MS chasis.

    • @MadTangmini4wd
      @MadTangmini4wd  9 лет назад +4

      It doesnt matter~~I use VS and Super 2 too. I know a lot of people use rear motor chassis, But creation and invention are the purpose of this hobby. Using different chassis is part of this hobby too, just for compare the different... again~~ every chassis has its own advantage and dis-advantage.... also depend on track layout and depend on how you want to play, how you want to maintain your car, or how many skill you have, and choose the right chassis for your first race, and geting experience~~ I will continue do all the tutorial for all types of chassis. This is the real fun for me .................I dont wanna be a "walking dead" on only one chassis because of 99% winning super 2 or VS.......cause I am enjoy in modified different types of chassis and make them all fast~~~

    Which oil you used for motor for mini 4wd

    • @MadTangmini4wd
      @MadTangmini4wd  9 лет назад

      Paul Big Evil Ladia well~~ I use "Slick 7 Voodoo Contact Fluid" to break in the motor, , for maintain the motor you can just use regular RC oil.. this Voodoo Contact Fluid has another function~~ right before the race, if you drop a little into motor, you will have about 10-10% power up (but only last one lap) and it burn off motor fast.......

    hi mad tang .. is it ok to break a used motor?

    • @MadTangmini4wd
      @MadTangmini4wd  8 лет назад

      +Ronnel Catahan For used motor, just clean it with zippo lighter fluid and apply some oil~~ there is no reason to break in used motor, because the "break-in" procedure only apply to new stuff

    I bought a plasma dash and a sprint dash motor, but they don't make my car go near as fast as what I see in the videos on youtube. Why is this? I've tried different gear ratios, but I can't get near the speed I see others have.

    • @MadTangmini4wd
      @MadTangmini4wd  8 лет назад

      +steven R which means~~ you have a far away to reach the skill~~ Keeps playing for years~~ Learn from others , getting more experience ~~ eventually you will be fast~~

    • @kuzumitaiga1575
      @kuzumitaiga1575 8 лет назад

      +steven R a plasma is only 29k rpm (revolution per minute) , you need to rewind your motor to bigger coils (do not attempt unless you know how to solder), change to stronger magnet once you got big coils. My tamiya is around 50k ish rpm and considering its 15 year old lawls. Official tamiya matches may only use tamiya gears and motor but if it's just a group organized race you can use other motors, max is close to 80k rpm last i remember, they're about 50$ unless they're cheap now.
