IT IS SO WELL TOLD AND THE STORY IS VERY GOOD. THIS IS MY MOST FAVOURITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE OTHER GREAT MOVIES OUT THERE, THIS IS NO 1 IN MY RATING.
“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?”― Tennessee Williams
Thanks for my favourite movie ever! Our public library system can't supply a copy. The eight chapter format is ideal to really reflect on the the material. The spinning disks preceeded that technology by generations. Thank you again!!!
Lmao. I understand your sentiment, but the irony of your comment and the fact England was engaged in a war with South Africans is kind of hilarious Hell, one of the reasons George created the time machine is to escape the time period he lived in. He hated it *THAT* much.
Kind of reminds me of my own passage through time-living life-a journey that took me from the late 1960s to well into the 21st century. I‘ve seen all the seasons in between, all the holidays, and plenty of newborn babies age into grandparents.
Since I love this movie, I have seen it over and over again on television 📺 it will be possible that ❤ 2:27 someone downloaded it in its entirety on RUclips.
One of the top 5 science fiction movies of all time, and one of the few movies that's actually better than the novel on which it was based. Russell Garcia's score is haunting, seeming to borrow from Miklos Rosza's score for 1945's "Spellbound".
@@adambinnie1332 Almost any movie version of "Frankenstein" from the novel by Mary Shelley, it should be required reading for all scientists. "The Andromeda Strain" Our first contact with alien life might be a virus or microbe. I saw it as an adult and it scared the hell out of me. "2001 A Space Odessey". Still feels fresh after all these years. "Jurassic Park" Combined my fascination with dinosaurs and human fascination with theme parks. I'd love to see dinosaurs brought back. I'll put in as a runner up "Invasion Of the Body Snatchers"; I've seen them both.
THE BEST MOVIE EVER MADE. THIS IS MY NO 1 MOVIE OF ALL TIME. NO VULGAR LANGUAGE AND SO WELL TOLD. GREAT ACTING TOO. I JUST WISH THEY WOULD HAVE HAD A PART2 OF THIS WHERE THE STORY CONTINUED ON........
This reminds me of the opening to the Pink Floyd song "Time"... with the clocks chimes going off... I'll think I'll play that, while watching this movie's opening sequence.
Bravo to Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux for their fine performances, given that they both were relative newcomers to the big screen. Too bad they didn't film a sequel together.
I badly need one of these "Time Machines" to boldly go were there's still some Human Life. Because there ain't any Humans left in this Lunatic Asylum called Earth thanks to the "Mask Brigade" Control Freaks who have taken over the Asylum. :-(
Me? I'd love to hop into a time machine, and travel just far enough ahead to see ARMAGEDDON. And I would NOT be afraid of what happens then. At this point in my life (I'm 61 y.o.) , as far as I'm concerned about humanity's future...you know, I DON'T THINK I EVEN CARE ANYMORE! (Yeah, call me apathetic, call me crazy, call me whatever you want...I. Just. Don't. Care. Anymore.)
I love this movie, but I also think it's interesting that the Sci-Fi movies of this era always imagined a future without people of color. In this movie, they go so far as to make everyone blonde.
That is the point of the movie. Everyone is ignorant in the future. Nobody reads books anymore. Nobody cares for the life of another human being and they completely lack human emotions. The people have lost their civilization and culture. The ignorance of the future is supposed to be the scary part about the future. I understand your concern, but that is the point.
The builder of the studio was a holocaust survivor. The fact that the people are only blond in the future and are very ignorant is very likely to supposed to lean on Nazi Germany and the aryan standards of that time.
Old movies are like fine wine!
When I saw that introduction in the cinema when I was 7 years old, that clap of thunder and the dramatic music make me jump out of my skin.
yep, Me 2 d((~___~))b
High frequency orchestra stimulated your system and the lightning was a low frequency with an abrupt stimuli causing fear
When I hear the word “Hollywood” this is the era I think of. Brilliant. Thank you Mr. Pal ❤️
THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE.. IT GETS YOU TO OPEN UP YOUR MIND

One of my all time favorite movie intros
They don't make them like this anymore!!!! You've said what I seem to always say when asked about movies!
Correct! I knew this going to be a GREAT movie by the captivating intro. And I was a kid when I first saw it in the theater.
@Linda Easley Sometimes I watch just the intro to this movie, it's SO cool!
Hey, I agree with that. Awesome
The ticking clocks in the opening to Back to the Future are definitely a homage to this opening
Great piece of music. Thanks for the edit/clip. ☺
The Fabulous soundtrack from Russell Garcia, along with special effects by the legendary George Pal, help to make this a true science fiction classic!

Time is a fast flowing river. You can only touch the same water once .
+Sameoldfitup Very Interesting observation.
@@catherinebirch2399 Yes! Good analogy! And, most of the time time, if you diverted a little stream, it wouldn't change the flow of the river.
Seen when I was a kid. Loved it! Thanks

Why dont you just buy the damned thing?
Such a beautiful movie. When humans acted civil and not like animals.

A classic--from the era of Hollywood that I miss
I saw this movie as a teenager and really enjoyed it. I then went on to read the novel.
I bought the movie on DVD last year.
Kind of reminds me of my own passage through time-living life-a journey that took me from the late 1960s to well into the 21st century. I‘ve seen all the seasons in between, all the holidays, and plenty of newborn babies age into grandparents.
I don't care what any one say this is one of the best science fiction movies ever made what three books did he take
Me Too, I'm fixing to buy da movie on RUclips,...before I go to bed LaDa 👋d((~___~))b👍
Your tablet
This great actors and actresses are now all dead ,even the sweet Mimoux
Amazing film.
One of my favourites
sencillamente fabulosa muchas gracias por subir este exelente film !!!!
RIP Yvette Mimieux
This opening was among the most exciting in movie history, and at 75-years of age, I've seen a few.
RIP Weena.
Fantastic music. One of those rare cases where the film is better than the book. Rod Taylor was wonderful it and so was Alan Young.
Since I love this movie, I have seen it over and over again on television 📺 it will be possible that ❤ 2:27 someone downloaded it in its entirety on RUclips.
Super movie.
Superb introduction complete with Leo The Lion.

This has never been bettered. The only one close was Time after Time
I like to watch this every new years eve like i watch gremlins & die hard at Christmas.
I always interpreted that large thunder crack at 1:00 as a foreshadowing of the nuclear bomb that laid waste to London further on in the movie.
Beautiful intro complete with Leo!
I never time travel through time before.
Yeah, I wish I could go to the Future & the Past,...Whew, That would be GoooD !! d((~___~))b
I really like the theatrical quality. These were real actors, not just movie stars.
I see this opening scene inspired the opening scene of back to the future
Anyone else getting a Twilight Zone vibe from the opening scene?
