Hell, he made it ONCE which was in the 1978 parade. The Underdog balloon in 1982 almost CRASHED to the commentators that year.

Do some audio editing to remove speech stutters. Recording your audio in Audacity (free program), before plopping it into the video software will make this process super easy. Other than those two things, you did a great job. The visual editing for balloon incidents without footage really helped drive the subject home.
The stuttering was part of me mispronouncing words due to an expander in my mouth which makes me mispronounce words, next time I do another one of these it won’t be so bad. Thank you for the criticism!

So the fact that balloon didn’t strike a lamppost throughout the balloon’s run from 1982 - 1996 is pretty miraculous considering the incidents that some of the other balloons have gotten through.
I do remember watching the Macy's Parade in 1997 but don't remember hearing about all the incidents. I learned about them a year later though, and I'm actually surprised that they still used Barney and the Quik Bunny that year (1998). I also remember watching the parade in 1993, and the Sonic the Hedgehog balloon was the one balloon I was most highly anticipating watching that year! Thankfully, they showed footage of it flying before it hit the lamppost, which I never learned about until 25 years later!
You wanna know something? The Kermit incident wasn’t the only time that a balloon made it through the parade with some of it’s parts damaged. The Pink Panther balloon managed to finish the parade even though the balloon’s tail, left eye and legs completely deflated and much of the inner tube’s helium was lost due to his encounter with some trees which is the closest we can get to footage of an accident The Pink Panther balloon had (1995). The Betty Boop balloon also managed to finish the parade even though her moon was deflated (1991 and 1995). Two of Garfield’s hands/paws were punctured by trees but he managed to finish the parade (1986). Woody Woodpecker’s hand was ripped by a tree which caused him to slowly deflate, requiring him to be lowered to the ground and he still finished the parade. (1993).
