DIY Faux Terracotta Jack O'Lantern

  • In this short video I want to show you how I quickly transformed plastic Jack-o’-lanterns with chalky textured paint that I mixed together with latex paint and baking soda but you can also use other paints like chalk paint. The best thing about this project is that it didn’t cost me a penny and you can recreate it for very cheap as well.

    Materials needed to paint faux terracotta finished Jack-o'-lanterns
    plastic pumpkins or Jack-o'-lanterns or you can use ceramic or real pumpkins as well (check out the affordable options I linked below)
    baking soda

    small bowl for mixing
    craft paintbrush

    I used paint samples by Valspar
    Strawberry Malt by Valspar - 2008-8C leftover paint from our bathroom makeover)
    Rustic Oak by Valspar - 2007-7B
    Ultra White by Valspar - 7006-24 (leftover paint from our house)

      The one pumpkin is so old that I can't remember and the black and white ones were from Target about 10 years ago.
