Malevolent Creation is one of those bands that gets overlooked way too often.
absolutely agree, just finished their discography and man are they consistently great from album to album, no matter who sings
There’s lots of really great albums on this list and major props for including Intestine Baalism and the Chasm. Those bands are underrated and deserve lots of acclaim. Here’s more albums I would include:

Glad to see someone mention The Chasm, most underrated band ever.
Happy to see some finnish bands included. I would also add Rippikoulu - Musta Seremonia, one of the heaviest bands of all time.

Thx mate. My first ever listen to Death Metal was Slowly we Rot way back in 1989. Then got into ND, BT, MA, Deicide and CC. Then really missed a crap load until Spotify made it a bit easier. Now filling in the gap between then and now! Thx heaps, your taste is not too far off mine when it comes to Death Metal at least!

Love the video Questy :) Don't wanna be "that guy," but saying Nihility is Decapitated's "most technical" suggests you might not have played any of their stuff on guitar(not meaning to be rude). Winds of Creation is infinitely more technical, especially Blessed and Human's Dust and The First Damned

@@Poser_Metal_Records Yeah I wasn't saying which I prefer, I was purely speaking on the technical side of Decap. They peaked with their debut in that regard, Vogg's riffs are a nightmare and I say this as someone who can play most Necrophagist songs from Epitaph
Great, comprehensive list. I would go for Resurrection Through Carnage as Bloodbath's essential album. I prefer Akerfeldt's vocals and the old school buzz saw guitars.

Mostly great but just one Glaring Omission. Necrotiscism - Descanting the Insalubrious! How can you have an essential DM list without Carcass??? As a Canadian I was disappointed not to see Obliveon on here, and at least one Amon Amarth album should make it, take your pick. And for me personally, North From Here by Sentenced is totally kick-ass essential before they turned into Radio Rock. Cheers!
