I was born and bred in Liverpool and lived there for 30 years. But the hatred towards Liverpool was very real and amplified beyond all rhyme and reason ...and not just imagination of 'chip on shoulder' scousers. I had a friend stabbed down south just for admitting he was from Liverpool. The Sun newspaper infamously blamed Hillsborough football stadium deaths of scousers on scousers themselves... ..apparently thieving from the dead and other stories ...and not police crowd control incompetence. That never happened. I know for certain as I have trusted friends who survived there and witnessed nothing like that ..only dozens dying and people trying to help each other. But that didnt stop rest of media and country taking the Sun as gospel truth ...further promoting hatreds towards anyone and anything connected with Liverpool...and that anyone who tried to take a defensive view of Liverpool were dismissed as just another one of those vile 'whining, chippy scouser'. I am happy to say that this overwhelmingly negative picture of Liverpool is slowly disappearing but is not gone.. and for people in this guys generation it remains commonplace . . especially in those who've never been there.

The original Cavern on Matthew Street was leveled for a car park in 1972, the bricks were saved and the new one was built using some of the original bricks about 200 yards away. When I was there, I believe I was told that the Cilla statue is on the site of the original club. Thanks Lee for the video!
You didn't go on the underground . . . The oldest deep level underground in the World . . . with the city's fantastic brand new trains. A stunning City and a great place to visit.

The club closed on 28 May 1973 after British Rail made a compulsory purchase of the warehouses, the basement of which housed the Cavern Club, in order to build a ventilation shaft for the new Merseyrail underground railway. That was never built, however, and the area was turned into a car park.[12]

Interesting, I've never been to Liverpool but I would have loved to visit, it looks like a lovely city and I've heard it's easy to get around. A sunny day always highlights the beauty of a place and Liverpool is yet another British city with so much history. Hi mackmaster I hope you enjoyed your visit to Liverpool my home town. And by the way there are better hotels to stay at lol. But it's sad that the crimes that have happened are pit a bad rep on the city but overall the people make the city warm ,friendly up for a laugh but don't take the pics ok love watching the channel take care bye.
Being Scottish, me and my mates used to love going down to Liverpool for a weekend 15-20 years ago. Same mentality, great bars and clubs....has it changed ?? I moved to boring Australia
It’s a great city, been lots of times and never had any trouble.
Tranmere me Lee the other side of Liverpool, great video i do that walk you do daily for work 😂
The original Cavern on Matthew Street was leveled for a car park in 1972, the bricks were saved and the new one was built using some of the original bricks about 200 yards away. When I was there, I believe I was told that the Cilla statue is on the site of the original club. Thanks Lee for the video!
You didn't go on the underground . . . The oldest deep level underground in the World . . . with the city's fantastic brand new trains. A stunning City and a great place to visit.
Hun I see that you have reached 192 sub k brilliant news well done hun you deserve it it's all the hard work that you put in to them .❤xxx
Best city in England ! Your mate Geoff Carter seems to be visiting it often you should join him on his pub crawl one day lol

Coincidentally Elisabeth Sladen, best Dr Who companion, also a Scouser.
Interesting, lot of history, you should do more of this on lesser known UK cities.
The club closed on 28 May 1973 after British Rail made a compulsory purchase of the warehouses, the basement of which housed the Cavern Club, in order to build a ventilation shaft for the new Merseyrail underground railway. That was never built, however, and the area was turned into a car park.[12]
George Melly, Mel C, Jimmy Campbell, Roger McGough, Ricky Tomlinson, Rita Tushingham
With Diddy's antics exposing the business of entertainment, it's moving to see a memorial to Brian Epstein--one of the early victims of the Velvet Mafia
ITV's This Morning's map jumper was Ped the Freado (if you get my drift 🤫)
Doesn't surprise me really, they are all at it, one way and another, bunch of weirdos.🤣
Interesting, I've never been to Liverpool but I would have loved to visit, it looks like a lovely city and I've heard it's easy to get around. A sunny day always highlights the beauty of a place and Liverpool is yet another British city with so much history. I've seen documentaries about the city and apparently they used bricks from the old Cavern club in building the new one.
Over here tomorrow, glad you enjoyed it👍
Ken Dodd, only The Beatles sold more records than him in the U.K. in the 1960s. Happiness happiness……
Harry Enfield wasn't even funny in the 90s.
Hey hey, finally found your Channel. Can I just say thank you for uploading the in the highest quality, it really does make the viewing experience more enjoyable. Have a lovely trip to San Francisco. Safe travels 💦💦
Its a fabulous city. Ignore the press, ignore the random idiots (like every city), and just appreciate most people have a heart of gold and a top sense of humour
Great video, Lee 👌 👍 👏
I liked your video you showed my hometown in a very positive light, Liverpool is also a busy cruise destination we have cruise ships visit every week, Harry Enfield “calm down, calm down” was hilarious 30 years ago most scousers I knew took it in good humour at the end of the day everywhere has it’s stereotypes that was the long gone Brookside soap which never did us any favours either
Hi lee i really enjoyed the walk around Liverpool thanks mate Shane in Sydney 🦘🇦🇺
Loved your content Lee but our city is one of the best around. Surely the title of 'is it really that bad?' Is great click bait but suggests your going to be robbed and have to watch your back at every corner. Those that criticise have barely set foot in our city. "I'm not going to leave my camera alone and I'm not suggesting anything the people of Liverpool". Yes you are mate. Why bother visiting if you think that little of the place!
Lee, I believe that the world's largest ALL brick building is located in Liverpool.
yes .. The Stanley Dock Tobacco Warehouse is a grade II listed building , it is appartments now.
Who says it’s bad best place ever live entertainment friendly people 💯
I went to school with Julian Lennon, he was the year above me. He looked just like Dad. My other mate, in our class, was Geoff. His half- brother was Reg Dwight, also know as Elton John. He never told anyone about that.
