I have both. They're similar but I think the 7 HLX has slightly more candela and similar overall output. The TLR7 HLX is pretty amazing.

Biggest difference is size and runtime now (and maybe holster support). If you need longer runtime go for the larger light, if youre fine with 30-45min go with the smaller one

Not quite. The TLR1 HL has much more run time with similar performance.

I put the head on the 7a and it is a more focused beam. I prefer it so much I also pre-ordered the HPL head for it.
