The Mossberg Shockwave was the one that made things happen and really opened up this market for all the followers. The Shockwave was the first one to get approval regarding size, etc. and after tons of shells through it, it still is functioning perfectly. Add on a 1,000 lumen replacement forend and you have a fantastic home defense tool.
I have a Shockwave and I love it
@@grizz3312
Yes, it's awesome!!
As a PISTOL GRIP fan, I just had to have one!!! I lean towards MOSSBERG over REMINGTON anyway, and my SHOCKWAVE is perfect for home defense AND/OR for a BUG OUT BAG!!!
@@docmoon68
Spot on Doc!!
@@grizz3312How hard is it to handle for an elderly person?
Mossberg 590S Shockwave. 12-guage and can use the Shorty shells, which come in birdshot, buckshot or slugs. Awesome choice.
Have all those rounds in the 1 3/4" shortys. Shockwave compacity climbs to 9 rds
Totally a FAN
@@bruceamos2389 interesting.
I'm going to look into this one but also training to go with it!
I was amazed at the firepower of the Shorty shells. Have both the Mossberg 590 Shockwave and 590S Shockwave.
I love my KSG. Added a few things to fit my needs. It looks smaller in this video though! It’s light, but it ain’t “light”.
Me too, TDA will knock on the wrong door sooner or later😮
Thanks for the info
Are you serious, including that video snippet of the guy range shooting the Charles Daly 'Honcho'? The recoil almost made it jump out of his hands, lol.
WOW he is lucky he did not get hit in the face! Ouch
That was epic, I thought it was a howitzer for a moment 🤣
Was he holding his hand ON the end of the barrel when he shot? I replayed that part like 100 times😅
We had a super shortie 500 from mossberg in Iraq, we used it for breaching. 2 in the tube, one in the pipe! I loved it! I made a shoulder holster for it and carried like a pistol. When the Iraqi's saw it they flipped. They are scared of pistols, so a pistol shotgun was like seeing the Grim Reaper his self! Again, I Loved it!!!
That sounds totally awesome! Thank you so much for your service. I hope you got a ton of great use out of it while you were there!
Was the barrel sawed off , or was it a new one ?
@tommurphree5630 There isn't much of a need to saw the barrel off of a Serbu Super Shorty.
I've got a remington 870 SBS..modified choke, it's sweeeet.
What about the gun that started it all, the Mossy 590 Shockwave?
Or the 590a1 shockwaves made in small batches before that.
That guy in the blue shirt firing the Honcho…just WOW!!! 🤪🫣🤣
Hahahahahha!!! 😂😂😂 give that man a slingshot
I will take the Mossberg Shockwave over the Remington. It is a superior shotgun for self defense. The controls are placed where they are accessible without changing your hand placement and the follower hugs the bolt when in battery.
Mossberg shock wave S , ? Seriously. Not on this list
ikr
Where can I buy one of these ,?
Love those Kel Tecs.
I want see a new homeowner fire one of these no stock 12 gauge shotguns and tell us what it was like to fire that cannon.
Those 3" will rock'em. 1 3/4 in a Shockwave is all you need
You won't hear from them because of high home prices 😂
No thanks on those sawed-off guns. The Tavor and KSG are OK. I have a bull pup semi auto which is small but still controllable with high brass 00 buck. Wouldn't want to go any smaller.
My disabled wife can wield her Shockwave with near surgical precision. It's a 12ga. Not like you're firing a. 50 or something. Get over yourself
@@alexanderstopka4957 Just means your wife is better at it than I am. No surprise there. 🙂
My choice is the KSG, before getting the KSG I depended on my Mossberg cruiser. I prefer the second generation KSG over all.
Mossberg maverick 88 cruiser. Less than $300 and it’s basically a mossberg 500 with a pistol grip.
The Henry was a beast
I had a Mossberg Model 500 Bullpup. Other than the fixed sights being too wide, it was a good shotgun. Wish they’d update and re-release it. When I shot it at the range everyone would flinch when the 12g fired because from a distance (when you couldn’t see the large barrel bore size) it looked like it was something that should be firing a 9mm or .223 round.
I love Mossberg Cruiser awesome shotgun for home defense!
How are they legal?
My choice was the Mossberg 590 Shockwave. I use
1 3/4" shells. Compacity 9 rds
Had no idea there were this many shorties I bought a shockwave 590 about four or five years ago I think this is the one that started at all!
Mossberg 500 tactical pistol grip is still my go to weapon for home defense…♠️
Very cool video I like 5 of them cool
“And it’s manual extraction is easy to operate“ 8:20 😂 💀
Dude at 8:23 almost blew his hand off.
Indeed he did!! Jesus!!
😂🤣😂
These little shorties can be dangerous that way I used to have a neighbor that blew his hand off with a sawed off shotgun just after he got out of prison for murder
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The load was long gone
Are any of these legal in Calif. ?
For those wondering about legality, this is my interpretation in a nut shell. *NOTE* I may be wrong, so double check the current laws to be sure!
#1. If the firearm came from the factory with a stock and is labeled as a shotgun, then the 18" barrel and 26" rule applies.
#2. If it came from the factory with a birds head style grip and labeled to be an AOW, then it's just that, Any Other Weapon. These don't require atf tax stamps and are considered to be legal, but always check your State and local laws to be sure. Cheers
Your #2 is incorrect. AOW's require tax stamps from the ATF.
A.I. voice are any of these reliable?
the first time a new person shoots a shotgun it's to much for them but i get it i wouldn't use a 22 for shit either. get you a handgun before you drop a shotgun cause it scares you. im from the states and it still surprises me out of all the guns in this country that there is still people that's never held one. but we are an armed society enjoy it.
Never a let down when you two boys get together 🎉🎉🎉🎉 awsome vid
The ksg jammed all the time for me
No Shockwave??!??? How
I was lucky and able to pick up a Remington 870 USSS, with box. Yes its an SBS, but you hardly ever see them.
10:43 ... 🎉🎉🎉🎉 That's what I am talking about
What is the gun on the main introduction screen? Y’all never show the pictured gun. Why?
4:39 ... Must design for Rotary / Drum / Saddle-Drum / Pan magazines as well such that it does not take more effort to reload .
Are they legal in California?
Groovy video.
😏 That was a lot of ads. This guy is saving up to buy two of each.
my cheap maverick mossberg (mexican mossberg) is good enough for me. well balanced and full size which absorbs better the recoil- these small shorties are nimble and look cool but pack more recoil something to remember.
Why didn't you include the Mossberg 590 Shockwave shotgun one of the best on the markets and very adaptable to put buttstocks on also come in 20 gauge
Awesome sir 👏
No Remington G3 tac 13 that a little Baddie
I like trench gun so 522 browning, or 520 stevens.
I love my snake slayer for my night stand gun. And tan Steven savage pump for door gun.
I don't mind my Stevens home defense shotgun it holds 5 rounds pretty base but it's a shotgun it was 250 otd. it does the job honestly I'm not grabbing my shotgun first grabbing my pistol
Fowened my 34 m. 20. G 7.25 berail
I though all shotguns had to have a minimum barrel length of 18". How did that change?
Remington ALWAYS has to come out on top!!!
Are those legal in California?
Californian problems...
Don’t the shorter barrels require a FFL?
Just finished getting my Keltech KS7 kited out. She’s ready to go.
@ i’m sure you meant firing it. There’s a really nice gun range not too far from where I live and I keep it as a home defense shotgun.
I want to know if a shotgun will function with the mini shells. I know that the KSG will butt have no idea about the others. KSG runs them great and holds 25 of them
How is the Mossberg 500 not an SBS?
How much did mag pul and Remington fork out for this ?
7:07 ... Must design for Belt Magazine, as well .
What about a street sweeping?
The jackhammer is perfect for that. Still legally available too.
That Henry is way cool, 410 with buckshot is perfect, hammer can be relaxed so it's not under constant tension. Let me say this about that; having a ported barrel on a home defense gun is a bad idea because the flame in your line of sight is blinding at night. Yes you will get some of that regardless but I don't want to make it worse. Am I wrong? Let's see a test of my theory someone.
Good weapon to take..,
0:49 can be shorter with longer barrel.
You never have the gun that’s on the thumbnail picture why?
The thumbnails are A.I. fantasy. 😮
That fact always gets my 👎 regardless how I like the vids.
4:27 ... It must be Automatic
What is the shotgun on the "Thumbnail"?
No mention of the Standard Manufacturing DP12?
I can't believe the Mossberg Shockwave wasn't on this list. Pretty sure it was the O.G.
16:00, only funny because he's still alive. I have the Remington Tac14 and the Mossberg Shockwave both shot great. I put a laser on the Tac 14. I had to send my KSG back three times with issues, I guess I got a lemon.
The SS211 , I thought that the barrel had to be 6 inches from the stock ..
*WITH THESE HOME DEFENCE SHOTGUNS, YOU DON'T MENTION HOW MANY SHELLS THEY CARRY!*
Too many errors.
I thought Atf regulations was no pistol grip w/ a stock. I put a stock on my 590s and the pull was in regulation but you couldnt have pistol grip. Overall length was ok too. Best to check the regs. Theyll slip one in on you
Perhaps, all those silly ATF regs will ease up some with, "Freedom Lovers," holding serve...at least for the next two years.
Love those shotgun
8:55 ... Must design for Drum magazine, as well.
No drums
The Standard Manufacturing DP-12 isn't on this list? Not only is it as small or smaller than most of the guns on this list it is a double barrel holding up to 16 rounds! With two shots per pump.
Leaving out of you want to own the serbu super shorty that’s considered a Aow and you have get a stamp from the atf
Any shotgun under 18 inches overall is considered a Aow
@@frankcastle4435 Most of these get by because the specific legal wording for a shotgun includes "shoulder-fired". Most of these aside from the Serbu are smoothbored, can't be shouldered, and are just above the legal length to be classified as an SBS, so they're instead designated simply as "firearms". Putting a different type of stock on something like a Shockwave will turn it into a Class 3, however.
Why are these pump vs. auto?
At 8:22 that feller shoulda erased that vid of that shot.. lol
Ok but....most of these are 12guage. That kind of power, in such a small package....gunna break your damn wrist. Even a 20guage can have a lot of kick with the wrong frame. Where are all the 410 mini shotguns?
Do you know if anyone makes a "Shorty" .410 Shell?
@@DividedWeFall1000 Henry makes a pretty cool .410 lever action. Mossberg also has a .410 version of the shockwave.
If you cant handle a 12 gauge pistol grip with 1 hand you have no business using 1.... that's why they make 410... lol
So sick of these shitty companies using AI images as clickbait. Do better.
WHERE IS THE SHOTGUN ON THE COVER PHOTO IN THIS VIDEO!? WHAT # IS IT?
I'm no gun guy by any means, but the shotgun is the Scarlett Johansson of guns for me
3:18 KSG, never been a fan of shotgun that eats & shits from the same hole. In my LE days, I had Ithaca that operated the same as this Kel-tec & it would jam fairly often. Needless to say, when your life depends on a dependable firearm, even occasional jams won’t do! Do some checking & research before purchasing.
"The SERBU Super Shorty packs the same punch as full-size 12-guage shotguns."
Yeah, no it doesn't. Even if you don't trust basic physics to back this up, there are many, many videos on RUclips that dramatically demonstrate that a shorter barrel means less muzzle velocity. It's still got quite a punch _at close range,_ but even then a longer barrel is going to make a deeper, nastier wound.
These are new releases but some have been around for a while, namely the Serbu shorty. And like in the pass very small shotguns were considered NFA items requiring a tax stamp, like the serbu, and like the ones that are smaller than the shockwave with a bird’s head grip. Even the shockwave is a potential NFA item with a pistol grip instead of a birds head grip. If something has changed in the law , or was I incorrect about the legality of some of these shotguns???
Please leave a comment.
😊
You are right, the serbu and the similar mossberg cruiser are NFA "AOW" and have a $5 tax stamp required. The cruiser with a buttstoxk would be NFA "SBS" with a $200 tax stamp (and that's if it's legal in your State)
Are these guns legal? My state requires a 38-inch barrel for shotguns.
18 inches is the requirement for most states.
They are legal because they are manufactured with short barrels. No saw off shotgun.
It has to do with the grip and lack of shoulder mount for some of them. As an example, the mossberg shockwave and the Remington are not “shotguns” according to the ATF - they are classified simply as “firearms”.
@@someoneelse1i1isame,Henry AXE, firearm,GODBLESS.
Your state is stupid
Love it
OMG it's boom time baby!
Im using 9 inch barrel 300 blackout ar pistol over any of these
12 Guage shotguns are the most powerful I heard on this podcast I am making up right now.
The law in the US makes these new weapons so funky looking.
actually, they look that way to appeal to the wannabe Rambo market
"two half inch shells" The robot reader said that while taling about the Henry .410 shotfun. Doesn't "Gun Addicts" review their videos? I voted this video down.
It’s an AI video
Playback speed 1.75 helps waste less time
So which one is the best for self defense House wise,Respectfully? I can tell You know what you are talking just from reading your comment.
8:37 checkered walnut grips WTF where
Well, the reader was just a little off .410 comes in 2 1/2 - 3" shells in its very slight defense.
18/1.2 in Illinois only 😕
Showing a person well versed in shooting the simple Honcho yet still not hitting his target even when it was attached to his arm, I’ll have to give that one a pass
Soo badass
i don't know the laws in other states but in michigan a shotgun has to have a 18.5 inch barrel.
Tavor 12 shoukd be #1 even though my Remington is the shit
How is the Taurus Judge Home Defender not on this list?
I was wondering that too.
I Live in a liberal state, and things have gotten out of hand in some parts of my Neighborhood lately (breakings) to the point that my family and I no longer feel safe at home anymore. with many Initial reservations and pushback from my better half and family, I opted to acquired one of this, have taken all the proper precautions/ safety training and even convinced my wife join me in a few trainings' sessions. we both feel a lot safer these days for home security cameras. are nothing more than a false sense of security, we learned that the hard way. Thank you! Guys.
I thought the legal minimum shotgun barrel length was 18 inches???
I liked ( KEL TEC KSG )
