I began my police career with a Smith Model 19, which was a great K frame with adjustable sights, after working a year I purchased a Colt Trooper and carried that for many years before switching to a M1911A1 for duty carry, I have always preferred the .45 caliber to the 35's. I even had a Smith Model 25-5 in .45 long colt that I carried for duty for awhile, same frame as the 29 but with a more mild round, she was a great shooter and was a .45 to boot. I can't argue with your list, I did have a Colt Dimond back for awhile which is basically a python in .38 special that was a great target gun. Today I still carry a M1911A1 when I go into the city where I may need to defend myself or my daughter, or my Astra A-100 in .45 ACP if I want a bit more firepower. I have owned Smith Model 10's and it's big sister the Model 13 in .357 mag, nothing wrong with them either. My old boss, the Sheriff of Eddy County back in the day carried an old pre model 10 Smith M/P that was ancient, he usually came very close to me in score when we shot for qualification despite the ancient Smith being out of time and completely bare of the original blue finish due to being carried by sheriff's from day one of the county being organized.

I love my s&w model 60. Not exactly a snub nose revolver since it has a 3" barrel but it's still in a j-frame.

My own 329PD has been quad ported by Mag-Na-Port and I use the 500 S&W magnum recoil absorbing Hogue grip along with the cylinder being changed to a model 629 44 magnum fluted model and removal of the titanium cylinder it came with.

In ‘74 I used my issued Colt Detective Special snub in a gunfight w/three armed robbery suspects, reloading under fire, to put down one suspect.
