I’m generally scheduled 3 weeks ahead. It takes a lot of work to initially build up…but it gives you a massive breathing space if you have some days that you can’t lost or have other commitments. It also helps with eBay since the algorithms see the consistency. I have had childcare and other stuff going on for past few weeks and have literally just been shipping…but it’s so good not worrying about having to also do listing. I have to get the scheduled listings built up again now…but I also always have a draft bank constantly on the go.
Anther little tip is as you know bubble wrap is pricey so to keep costs down use newspapers , just take a page roll it into a lose ball sorted , ideal to plug gaps so stuff don't move around .. ask in local shops that sell newspapers "next day" the papers out of date so they cant sell it so 9 times out of 10 there give you the papers ..
I always use newspapers for void fill, my neighbour has a newspaper or 2 every day so I have them when she puts them out for recycling every week. You can also buy rolls of wallpaper for the same job if you see them for 10 or 20p at the bootsale - I save plastic wrapping off things and ask friends for shoe boxes - sometimes I’ll buy a roll of thick garden waste bags as that’s a good outer covering too, for bigger items
Becareful using newspaper as filler. If the Rare reason items get damaged while shipping you won't be able to claim because you need to use verified fillers like bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc. Try to find a source to buy large amounts of bubble for cheap and also cut down your boxes so items are more secure and you save more mola on dimensions. Just a suggestion.
Great video, I always tend to list the hardest to list stuff first. Make the rest seem extremely easy and you end up listing alot more through the day.
New subscriber, thank you for the tips on packaging there were very useful 👍As a buyer and a seller on Ebay I do appreciate sellers like yourself who take care when packaging items to send, I usually save the seller! Good luck full time Tom, will keep watching 🙂
That always happens . Go to the drop off point of post office. Then get payments through or a new sale. But like you said just have to lump it into next days post run
You had some great ideas for shipping but one thing I find for me is that bubble wrapped envelopes work so much better for shipping out for speed in packing them up too especially for dvds and games in that those type cases. They tend to be pretty durable already so they don't really need the extra padding unless they are going to a place where they are extra hard on shipping packages. I find for cds and cassettes that I have these acid free bags that help protect them from getting scratched in the mailers. For higher end items I tend to take cardboard and wrap it around it to make sure that it's more protected. I've seen people sometimes use 2 bubble wrap envelopes as well for higher end items too which really protect them. For shipping labels until I get a thermal printer i'm just using my laser printer and printing up the labels and taping them on. I may get a thermal printer in time though to make it quicker.
A thermal printer is worth the investment and they are not much money. You can get a good one at $100. You don't need ink, they are fast and easy to use.

Good video! I resell a lot of laptops / tablets / phones etc. so always interesting to see how others run their business. How do you handle VAT when you're either acquiring goods for free or from private owners at car boots / etc.?
Just a tip, write the serial numbers of console and handhelds down in a spreadsheet. If there is an issue with one of them, you can check if it's indeed your sold item. And not a crappy one they had to scam you with. Same for laptops or other things with a serial number. And I always make pictures of the packages, so I can proof that it was packaged well if there are any issues.
Very interesting. I have started doing this, not on ebay but mostly buying games and taking them to gaming markets as I feel it might work out better as with ebay they take 12% on games. (I read this on the site) I'd rather pay a fixed fee and take all my games to the market and see what return I can get which worked out very lucrative. However this is interesting Tom. Good luck with it.
I was considering downgrading my job to PRN just so I can have my taxes take a lot out and not worry about the ebay taxes. That was my issue last year with the stock market. I made too much money and the taxes were annoying.
