It’s crazy you can have Bankai like mass resurrection of everyone you’ve ever killed, freezing things to absolute zero, and literal immortality, and then you have Baboon Snake.
Also, Urahara’s bankai is something can edit and reconstruct the world and people around him. While Kurotsuchi’s bankai allows him to edit and reconstruct itself- with different functions and purposes.
Yamamoto is the boss for a reason. His Bankai is not fancy. It's just raw destructive pure power. It's completely unsuitable for anything else except for annihilating enemies - without discussion.
When he mentions using Shinji's bankai against the top 3 Espada all I can think of is them looking at each other and saying "we were never really allies in the first place".
Ironically the Stark and Harribel are the only ones that really are allies. Stark gets depressed whenever they lose, and Harribel joins Aizen when she's trying to protect her future fracion.
Seeing how they are taking more independence in the anime, I won't be surprised if they actually showed us a snippet of what Tensa Zangetsu's true power is via Yhwach's point of view
We know he also needed to steal yamas bankai, and that the reason he was able to do it and essentially why yama lost was because he didnt heal his other arm. I still don't think it would be stronger than yamas ngl.
I don't think it's necessarily true now, but when I first saw Kyoraku's Bankai, I thought this:- "That's really interesting, his Shikai makes games into reality, his Bankai makes reality into a game." It's not objectively right, I just like it as a concept of Bankai being an evolution of the Shikai's abilities. This felt the most stark (pun slightly intended) embodiment of that belief.
these lists are like P4P or GOAT lists in combat sports, it's all based on personal opinion, but as long as the persons logic and criteria is sound, then at least the opinion can be respected.
Yeah, for exemple I disagree with Dangai Joe being number 10, but that's because I believe the Humanization Technique shouldn't be taken into consideration when judging it since it's not part of the Bankai. But when it is taken into consideration, it being number 10 makes perfect sense.
@@aimaarzaidaan7657 Bleach has the worst power system when it comes to power scaling. It's at the same time a DBZ-style power system where more=better and a Jojo-like power system with a wide variety of special abilities, some exceptionaly broken. On top of that, many of those broken abilities only appear in one fight, leaving too little information about their actual limits. And to make it even more confusing, reiatsu neg is supposedly a thing, but never comes into play beside the 2 times it does to be explained, despite situations where the difference in power was arguably bigger than in those 2 instances.
I'm interested on if Kenpachi's Bankai will get a name in the Hell arc. I hope it either doesn't have/need one or is something simple like "Nozarashi Oni"
To begin with, Let Yamamoto be better revealed In order to know who can withstand his bankai And who cannot, But not so that Yamamoto could not win, So he is top 1
It is likely that it is "tradition" (intended as Kubo's stylistic choice and not the tradition of the title) that the Kenpachis' zanpakutos have the same name in both shikai and bankai. Uonhana Minazuki and Minazuki, Kuruyashiki Gagaku Kairo and Gagaku Kairo. So, probably, Nozarashi will also have the same name in bankai.
Sad to not see Kamishini no Yari even in the honorable mentions. The sheer power can still be compared to TYBW potentials due to the concept of transcended Aizen. And as bland of an answer as if may be I'd still rank Tensa Zangetsu higher than Zanka no Tachi. It is indeed the blade to shatter fate and in theory can overcome any level of power. However great list and video as always!
Gin’s Bankai is wild. Aizen just beat Urahara, Isshin and Yoruichi by himself with no issues at all, then transformed and got stronger… and Gin’s Bankai just immediately one taps Aizen and had him dead until the Hogyoku intervened. That single ability combined with the speed of his Bankai puts it over at least a couple of the Bankai on this top 10 list imo.
@@Rylan_Korpiyeah I could see byakuya beating gin by his sheer skill and laser focused commitment but renji would get 1tapped on sight, he's got zero chance against gin
Hopefully we can see Ichigos Bankai’s true power in the anime. But from the looks of it, it seems to be pretty straight forward, pure raw power. Also love that all Bankais that are or were part of the 12 division have power relatable to each other: Senjumaru: Creation of reality Urahara: Reconstruction of reality Mayuri: Change of reality.
@@BlackangelKatakuriSenjumaru was the previous leader or captain of the Science/Research division as well I believe. As she makes a remark at Mayuri when she appears for the first time
Am pretty sure ichigo bankai had something to do with fate, also we all glaze Yamamoto bankai being so strong that aizen had to make a hallow for it, but no one talk about how an almighty yawatch(which was the strongest charater at that time) had to destroy itchigo bankai cause it can cause issue for him
Not even mentioning rukias is a very strange omission to me. I feel like its often overlooked as many people view absolute zero as just "really cold" when in reality its so so much more insane than that
I understand why Hisagi's Bankai isn't on the list, but I'd definitely place his pretty high on my own list. The seemingly inescapable death match concept is so cool and really shoes why Hisagi has the respect he does in the soul soceity. Despite his own internal struggles and disgust with what he does, he is still a shinigami and when push comes to shove he's ready to die for his job. And seeing that he reflected in his bankai really makes me enjoy him more as a character.
I dont know why Hisagi isnt in top 10, he cant lose, only option is draw i dont see anyone winning that fight besides Aizen,Yhwach,Yama,Ichibe and maybe Gerrard I dont say he is one of the strongest in verse a lot of characters can speed blitz him before he says bankai
Yeah. I mean look at Yama. Doesn't matter how strong his Zanpakuto is, he died in the fight. He could have wielded the worst Bankai, it wouldn't have changed.
@@crownedking_cj8890plus he he didn't heal his arm. I dont know the reasoning either, but yhwach literally almost cried saying why yama didn't heal his arm. There is probably a catch with losing bodyparts being equivalent to losing insane amount of power, esepcially something like an arm while you are a swordsman
I think people forget too often gin's bankai like, a 13km sword ?? released in a second or something like that ? and a true power based on poison, which maybe could have killed aizen if he didn't got the hogyoku ? imo the fact that gin is absent in tybw arc make people forget how powerful his bankai was (sorry for mistakes if there are any)
they do. people forget gins bankai actually hurt hogyoku aizen to the point he thought he actually died. but then he came back and realized the hogyoku made him immortal and he finished off gin
@@danielsniff6405 I don't think its a case of wanting it. You need to have contributed something of such significance that squad 0 will recruit you. He was the one who found the 13 court guard and the academy, which meets the requirements mentioned earlier. I think Ichibei definitely considered his promotion but thought of a better outcome: Having Yamamoto, a soul reaper with increadible powers, act as the head of the shield that protects the royal family/palace. This is just my head cannon tho x'D Ichibei could fear Yamamoto if he gained even more power as a squad 0 member AND former criminal for all we know. Hope we get an explanation one day!
@@KiReSishbefore urahara reformed the 12th division, there was once an unofficial science group of the gotei 13 that was led by senjumaru, which mayuri was also a part of. This info came from one of the klub outside Q&As
one bankai that flies under most peoples radar and absolutely deserves to be on this list is Korose, Kamishini no Yari. all gin needs to slay any opponent is to land a single hit, which is not a tall order given the sheer speed and range at which his bankai operates, and then touch his opponent once, which again shouldn't be too difficult since his opponents would not be aware of this fact until it's too late. it's essentially suzumebachi, but with near infinite range for the first hit, without the second hit needing to be a precise spot and without leaving a huge visible mark that clues the opponent in to what's going on.
Agreed. And if Aizen did have more plot armor than even Ichigo he'd have died from it while in an ascended state, which is something no one else even came close to doing.
An insight on mayuris blade is that both the baby and the caterpillar represent the concept of future evolution, endless potential and his disdain for finality and perfection
It feels so weird to see Senjumaru's be rated above Ichibe, but I guess Ichibe is a scarier guy by experience and connection to the Soul King and his secrets.
Many people, myself included, tend to view Ichibe as someone who’s Shikai is the real powerhouse of his arsenal while the Bankai is more of an extra bonus. The Bankai is super busted, but it’s more of a ‘win more’ kind of power where as the Shikai will probably already have the fight over by that point.
It might be similar to an Aizen situation. Who’s shiki is way too busted that it over shadows the bankai. I wouldn’t of rated senjumaru that high though especially knowing it achieves nothing
the potential of ichibe's bankai was never explored at all really. He used it simply to mock yhwach in a battle he'd already thought he'd won. Tommo only considers him using ichimonji on people before re-naming them, but if ichibe applies ichimonji on objects and then re-names them then the potential is basically limitless. Presumably he can't simply name a rock "reio", for example, but given even in base form he can simply write characters like "barrier" and "hide" and have those effects applied absolutely, i'd think there's not too much he couldn't do
Absolutely - Ichibei, and by extension, his Bankai is just such a tough one to rank. As a fellow commenter said, I personally think the bulk of what makes him dangerous lies in his Shikai first and foremost, but an argument could easily be made for him to be higher.
Well it didn’t one shot SK Yuha. It’s important to remember that Yuhas powers were nullified because of the silver arrow and Ichigo took the shot. The bankai isn’t that strong tbh
@@jamaleverett7337 didn’t the arrow just turn off the allmighty and his other abilities? Also he still felt the need to immediately break it so it probably still could’ve one shot him. I guess Ichigo is also just the strongest character in terms of just strength he just doesn’t have any overpowered abilities
Great list but for me HM : 1- Gin's bankai "kamishini no yari " 2- Unohana's "Minazuki " Top 10 10-Shinji 9- Kisuke 8- hitsugaya 7-Azashiro 6-Zaraki 5-Shunsui 4- Ichibei 3/2- Yamaji & Senjumaru 1- ichigo
I feel Hitsugaya's bankai is something that will with time grow on to become the strongest bankai in the series(perhaps aside for Ichigo lol), mainly because it has amazing defense, offence and ability negation is straight up broken. And zaraki's bankai will stagnage. We are talking about a man, who suppresses himself just to enjoy the thrill of battle. Heck he has been killing strong beings with just his normal sword, which people kept assuming that was a permanently released zanpakuto. And even with that state he was having an easy time. Now shikai is already a massive boost and it would be rare for him to even use that. Let alone bankai...its just like Soi Fon's case, the bankai is powerful but does not sit well with the wielder's ideals. Zaraki would almost never use a bankai that makes him too strong and mindless(if he is mindless, how can he have the thrill of being cut?).
@@j.k.1239 ofcourse yes, Zaraki's bankai may be simple but for a brute force fighter like him, it is perfect. No overthinking, no complicated ability..just pure carnage. I mean that was the first time he used his bankai so makes sense that isn't at its fullest and will defo grow stronger. toushiro i feel is as you said, next yamamoto. His bankai is exact opposite of Yamaji...and given enough time has the potential to mature into something as powerful as zanka no tachi if not more powerful(cuz IMO his ability negation aspect is a little too broken)
Kenpachis unnamed bankai is so fitting for his character Before becoming a Kenpachi he was an unnamed brute, and hated it, fighting so much to be known as "zaraki Kenpachi" and earning his Name The bankai robbing him of his name feels like his inner self accepting his original namelessness
Has no one ever thought about that Yoruichi not having a zanpakuto? All captains have bankai correct? 1000 years ago the former gotei 13 , There is a captiain from the Shihouin clan who does have a Zanpakuto. So we would assume ok they have a bankai as well. So is it not odd that we never talk about , see or even hear about Yoruichi having a Zanpakuto.
She doesnt like to use it because she developed her own combat style without it, but we do know the zanpakuto spirit is cat-like in personality and she needs to play/engage with it to keep it happy
@@tonygabagool But, after being revived, his shiki had grown to the power and speed that his banki originally had and his banki grew similarly. Plus, lets not forget that it was Ichigo's hallow form that managed to handle the original banki.
I think it’s telling Yamamoto is still at the top, and telling of its power. Aizen who feared nothing, feared his Bankai so much he had to create a special Hallow in order to deal with it. Great stuff.
And that was just a fraction of power, Imagine how much explosive power it really has.....That isn't surprising though as a kid Kenpachi was powerful enough to face someone like Unohana.
I was kinda shocked to not see Hakka no Togame as even an honorable mention! It’s really strong and even took down a powerhouse like as nodt, but the drawback you’re kinda stuck after using it could keep it off.
The latest TYBW episode has showed us that Renji's Bankai is vastly more powerful and versatile than we thought. It could easily place itself on this list proper today.
Special mention rukia's bankai, it drops the temperature of the user and transfers it's coldness to its surroundings into absolute zero/ -273° it can kill enemy in an instant and onohana's bankai, it produces blood like acid that can burn flesh and heal the user .. that very blood that spouts in her blade is like an extension of her limbs reaching an enemy even in a long distance
I desperately need to know what the hell Aizen bankai is and does. I mean his shikai alone is so broken that he might be the bankai itself, so what kind of op ability could he really have, some kind of reality warping or what
We do know the mass hypnosis on captains and vice captains was the bankai release and that the illusion is permanent unless released by Aizen once settled. (both these info are revealed in the soul society arc when they reveal Aizen is the bad guy). So realistic hypothesis is that it's simply the illusion powers of the shikai on a extremely empowered level with no time restriction on the duration since we see the shikai illusion last a definite amount of time in Barragan small flashback.
@@sammycakes8778imagine if it's just advanced and permanent Kyoka Suigetsu that just turn people into his friends because he secretly was being lonely. He then decided to never use it because he refuse friendship lol.
the one NEW thing the anime gave us is that, the Zero squad is NOT really that powerful. they are only POWERFUL because they are given the power of the Soul King and their literal Bones become infused with Soul King power, and the fact the newly added "they are all linked" thing and have to kill them selves to allow one of the others to use their bankai etc... with that information MY GAWD, imagine Yamamoto was invited to the Zero Squad, and was given Soul King power up etc. and was then linked and they all killed themselves to allow him to Zanka no Tachi SOUL KING STYLE
An amazing video, I agree 100% with you but an honorable mention should of been Aizen, Techincally we dont know it but since Yhwach was impressed by him and kinda threatened, we have to assume its on a whole other level just like Ichigos true bankai
Would be quite curious to hear the reason why Minazuki wasn't in the top 10, feel like acid that dissolves anything would be top 10 worthy Incredible video, thank you for the entertainment
It wasn’t acid. Her bankai doesn’t dissolve anything. The depiction in the manga that seemingly suggested the blood had acidic qualities was shown in the anime to simply be a metaphor for each character freeing themselves and coming out of their skin or removing the mask, so to say.
Minazuki deserved to be in the top 10 in my opinion. Corrosive blood that can instantly melt and kill anything as well as instantly healing any wound is a terrifying power. Kamishini no Yari deserves an honorable mention as well.
After Seeing Renji vs Uryu and how many new abilities that Soo Zabimaru has it definitely deserves to be in the top 10. It's one of the most versatile bankai in the entire series. The only bankai I would put above it that regard would be Urahara's which has limitless applications, and Mayuri's which mostly comes down to him constantly modifying his bankai and not due to its inherent abilities.
I think its very important to mention that, regarding Ichibei's Shirafude Ichimonji, it was explicitly stated that if he hadnt *explained how it fucking functions* to Juha, it wouldve legitimately killed him (or at least the black mausoleum would)
What I like so much about Sembonzakura is how its essentialy perfect. Byakuya never changed his bankai because there’s nothing to change. Its massively destructive, easy to wield, solid defenses, strikes fast and hard, adapts with multiple forms and its one of, if not the most beautiful zanpakutou overall. Senbonzakura Kageyoshi was essentialy Kubo’s way to show the gap between shikai and bankai.
Ichibei's is symbolic of how he's the 'editor' of the Bleach universe. He's rewritten the entire history of the war to paint in a more rosy 'good vs evil' narrative much to the chagrin of those who know the truth. Him essentially erasing Yhwach and reducing him to a piece of meat as the new Spirit King is ironic and chilling. More so since Ichigo nearly underwent that fate.
This is why I think his ranking should be much higher; Ichibei can essentially nullify anything out if existence if he chooses too. Condidering this series, and in general, that's wild stuff. Should be in the top 3 for my money everytime.
Great list. But I think Rukia' needed to be on here as well. Maybe as another honorable mention. But I would have put here in the list. Even though she it is complete, and she can't control it totally, the potential is devastating.
Honorable mention mayhaps, but as far as we know she barely knows how to use it and it's worse than a double edged sword for her. Still think it's a more powerful ice bankai than Toshiro's generic ice dragon, though.
I really think that _Kamishini no Yari_ probably deserves to be on this list, to he honest. Not only is it fast enough to almost certainly land a hit on nearly anyone if Gin were to take the fight seriously and be aiming for a kill, but the special venom that the blade is made of when it turns to dust while expanding/contracting is shown to be an incredibly powerful ability the one time we see it used. The fact that it temporarily (or at least nearly) killed Aizen before the Hogyoku allowed him to evolve further to survive (making him literally immortal in the process) is actually an incredible feat in terns of its pure killing power and that was against an Aizen that was notably stronger than his already crazy powerful base Shinigami form. I feel pretty confident that his poison could straight up kill most characters in the series if he manages to land a hit and leave a shard of his blade inside of them. And given both the incredible range and ridiculous speed at which it can strike, I don't think there are too many characters that could avoid getting at least a scratch or small wound from Gin's Bankai... and a knick is all that it takes to win for Gin if he is actually trying to go for the kill instead of just playing around, teasing, or testing someone. Honestky, _Kamishini no Yari_ might just be the most underrated Bankai in the series given what it is capable of doing even to enemies stronger than Gin himself.
Fax. They are underrating Gin just because he didn't fight strern riters. Kamishini no Yari is the fastest bankai. Aizen being immortal was the perfect counter to it but imagine gin using it on a non immortal character like Ichigo Kenpachi, Gin would won.
I just can’t wait to find out what aizen’s bankai is. I don’t believe the theories that he doesn’t have one, he has to as he has stated himself he’s mastered and transcended all aspects of being a soul reaper. And considering how cool and powerful is Shikai is, I find it hard to believe he doesn’t have one of the strongest bankai
Yama is alot stronger than what we saw. There was a plot about teaching Zaraki to use both hand when using his Zanpukato. This was showcased against Nnoitra. Who taught Zaraki to use both hands. Yamamoto himself. And in one attack he split Nnoitra using both of his hands on his Zanpukato. Fast forward and Yamamoto has one arm. The very techniques he taught Kenpachi he could no longer use. He was severely handicapped. Its fair to say that he became half as strong being only able to use one hand instead of both.
Well yeah, you know someone is insanely powerful when the only time they are ever taken down in any capacity is when the cards are completely against them. Give the man two arms and he prob would have beaten the twin without having to reveal his banki.
My headcanon for Kenpachi’s bankai is that it can very literally cut anything, even intangible things like concepts, even the very idea of “distance” becomes a nonfactor as seen when he cut down Gerard at a distance.
One thing that still makes me laugh is how Byakua mocks Ichigo's first form of Tensa Zangetsu for being too small for a bankai, but then Yamaoto's first form is the same size, with the added AOE of the pure heat from it
lets not forget how broken Kira's Shikai is. he can double the weight of anything. thats SOOOOO FUCKING BROKEN. and obviuosly not used to full potential for plot reasons
I have a request sir. Make an analysis video on 'Zanka no Tachi' vs the unnamed bankai of kenpachi. Is it possible that Kenpachi could keep powering up to destroy Yamamoto? Is it possible that Kenpachi's animalistic characteristics help him survive purely on instinct.
I don’t tbh, yes his bankai isn’t the strongest, not the fastest not the most destructive but it does everything so well it’s definitely better than Komomuras, now you can make a case that it isn’t better than Mayuris but tbh that bankai is heavily buffed by Mayuris intellect. Byakuyas is just refinement It covers for people it has good single person attack potency we saw that against Gerard, it had good defensive, it can be used against many people it is basically omnidirectional and you would say that’s worse than a one and done bankai like Komomura ? Byakuyas own words literally contradict that „A sword swung in exchange for one’s life is not worth it“
@@smoothcriminal4618 I totally agree. I made this comment before finishing the video and as soon as I seen Komomura’s bankai I started scratching my head lol. Besides the top three I think an argument could be had that Byakuya’s bankai could stand a chance against any of those. He was able to blow the head off Gerard, one of the strongest enemies in the series, I’d equate that to a flash freeze or Komomura swinging his giant sword and so on. Byakuya really has one of the best if not the best all around bankai in the series. easily a top 10.
If we’re talking about toshiros TRUE bankai I’d argue he can be top 6 but if its his normal one it’d go lower. I’d switch toshiros bankai with kennys imo since its far more versatile and broken. My list would probably be something like 10) kenpachis bankai 9) Toshiros bankai (can go higher if its his adult form. As far as we know he has to wait 12 minutes before he goes into his adult form which holds it back slightly) 8/7)Either shunsuis bankai or Byakuya’s . Shunsui’s is extremely broken with multiple parts but also has the most striking weakness, he cant use it freely when he wants because it can drag his allies into it. Byakuya’s is more consistent but not as overpowered so I rank them the same. 6) Kisukes bankai (limitless possibilities) 5) Mayuris enhanced bankai 4) ichibeis bankai (what mr tommo brought up was interesting) 3) ichigos true bankai (the weirdest one to rank) 2) senjumaru’s bankai 1) Old man Yama’s bankai Let me know your list. Im fine with switching some of these around cause ranking just 10 is not easy😭for example rukia and gins bankai could have been honorable mentions. Kaname’s too especially if someone is caught off guard. I also tried to separate the bankai itself with its owner because something like Kinshara Butodan lowkey is really strong but Rose himself feels the need to thoroughly explain it in great detail lmao
I would love to see a fight between Urahara and Mayuri just to see how they would clash. Because Urahara’s could come up with anything while Mayuri’s can counter anything. It’s interesting to think about the possibilities.
With Toshiro I feel like the placement is fair because he can never start out with his True Power. That’s a glaring caveat despite how broken his True Bankai is.
I personally think Ishida’s Schrift is the most probable way for the Quincy to escape Senjumaru’s Bankai unless Yuwach gives them another Auscwalen amp 🫡
Great video! Only change I would make is I would drop ichigos final bankai to a lower spot just becuase of how little we see it actually do. I hope the anime will show us more of the power of his new swords. You should do a new video of the top 10 bankais you wish we could see!
I have Gin’s Bankai above Renji’s. It’s just a better version tbh. Both can extend and whip around, both can disintegrate with “poison” as their main ability, but where Renji’s Zaga Tepo can be dodged, Gin’s poison can’t even be seen due to how subtle it is. He only drops a dust size poison into his target once he hits. Both are of course really powerful, I just personally think Gin’s also deserves a honourable mention.
Ichibe's bankai is definitely stronger than his shikai because it's abilities can likely work on allies too. Imagine if ichibe decided to rename all of the fodder shinigami "arrancar" or something, it's such a busted ability that was only ever applied in one way.

It seems like Matai Fukuin Shoutai is almost an ability like The Visionary, in that it can do whatever he needs it to in the moment, according to information supplied (as opposed to sheer imagination). And since it was never used again, at least at present, it really does seem like a one-shot ability.
Osho's bankai is interesting; up til now most the the bankai we've seen were more like fully-realized shikai, but the monk's shikai and bankai are more just a single ability divided in two.
I'll always argue that Rukia's Bankai should always be on the list, and that she at least should be the perfect antithesis to Yamamoto's power. Where he is like the sun personified...she is absolute zero which wouldn't simply be stopped by fire because it isn't exactly ice, but the complete absence of heat. I mean she has to be technically dead to even survive using it. They also both technically do the same thing. Yama slices the ground, and a chunk out of the twin, but Rukia slices the top off of Asnodt. With a wider view or different target, you would have probably seen her slice through the ground like ice working its way through the matter of a rock.
Actually your wrong absolute zero is no where near as powerful as heat. It's a low energy state where molecules are still moving but just very slowly and energy is still energy. The tiniest of flames counter absolute zero. Any type of warmth or excitement counters absolute zero.
Damn ichibie's bankai is literally an author's power, it takes a bullshit hax to defeat it and plot armor, no other bankai in the series that has hax like ichibies
No because it probably can warp your senses like his shikai can if it's 1v1, it prob affects groups differently because obviously more ppl are confused.
it's not useless 1v1. it can't make you win the fight, but it can make you survive when you're horribly outmatched by making your foe not perceive you as an enemy, basically ending the fight.
@@xenoemblem7yhwach can't take it, just my opinion but I'm pretty sure Quincy seems to have a bit of weakness to hollow. I mean urahara restore all the captain bankai with hollow power. And ichigo bankai(the old one) can't be taken because he has a hollow power in it.
My favorite bankai : Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, hakka no Togame. ( Yeah i'm Kuchiki bias lol) The strongest bankai overall: Ukitake's bankai. So strong That he could've end the show earlier.
i would say i think toshiros should be a bit higher and kenpachi lower just because of how kenpachi bankai work is just boosting his already monstrous strength which is nice but really one works as well as it does because of kenpachi
Perfect list, I agree with nearly every ranking, except that in my opinion MAYURI and KOMAMURA’S Bankais can be swapped , because I think that mayuris summon has the same criteria as komamura’s bankai, but on the other hand it’s not linked to his main body and I guess that an advantage
Due to the newest ep, I would honestly say Renji's new showing should put him around the 7 or 8 spots on this list while I would place Shinji in the honorable mentions
Dbzirman and captain havoc made videos like these! This was another great one but I definitely would’ve included Mayuris enhanced bankai on the list. Being able to adapt to any situation is INSANE.
I think you can put it around Urahara’s Bankai because we don’t know the full scope of either really. For the same reasons Mayuri’s is in the honorable mentions you could say the same for Urahara’s.
His bankai takes setup, though. And if the opponent changes abilities in any way after it's used, it needs more setup. Meanwhile Hitsugaya's only needs the initial petal timer to end and then he can just turn abilities off.
Small thing you forgot to mention is that Kyoraku's Bankai - much like Shinji's - is an AoE. Meaning that anyone within its radius will get caught in its effects. That's why he had to wait for Ichigo to get far enough before he activated it.
Glad to see my boy Komamura in the list. His Bankai, in dangai joe form, is super powerful as long as 1. He is in human form, and 2. He doesn't succumb to his own selfish desire.
Not true I'm 100% sure Lillie has more reiatsu than shunsui and shunsui didn't get drowned so I believe shunsui's bankai only goes to the next step if the opponent can survive the previous one with decapitation being the end game so shunsui is never in any real danger unless he's fight an immortal being
To this day, i still believe that Tensa Zangetsu's true power is the ability to "shatter fate". Basically it has the power to negate any phenomenon. I know it sounds absurd but that's the only thing that can explain why Yhwach can't just keep rewriting his death. It's because Tensa Zangetsu can severe futures and is why it was inevitable for Yhwach to die by its power.

I think Ichigo's is the strongest because it's scared Yhwach in a such point that he break his zampakuto once he releases his Bankai

Nah hell no
When he mentions using Shinji's bankai against the top 3 Espada all I can think of is them looking at each other and saying "we were never really allies in the first place".
Ironically the Stark and Harribel are the only ones that really are allies. Stark gets depressed whenever they lose, and Harribel joins Aizen when she's trying to protect her future fracion.
Lmao, Barragan gonna see Aizen as his ally rather than enemy now 😅
“We had a common enemy” is the entire dynamic between the espada. They were never allies, they were simply in agreement on who the bigger enemy was
I just want to see the future Yhwach witnessed that made him break Tensa Zangetsu, then cut to it being broken
Seeing how they are taking more independence in the anime, I won't be surprised if they actually showed us a snippet of what Tensa Zangetsu's true power is via Yhwach's point of view
Ooooh, that would be cool - to give us something, anything, of what Ichigo's bankai actually does
He just say he wanted to show respect breaking it because it was formidable, if was Absolutely dangerous Kubo would show his reaction.
We know he also needed to steal yamas bankai, and that the reason he was able to do it and essentially why yama lost was because he didnt heal his other arm. I still don't think it would be stronger than yamas ngl.
Ichigo has one move. What is there to wonder.

I don't think it's necessarily true now, but when I first saw Kyoraku's Bankai, I thought this:-
"That's really interesting, his Shikai makes games into reality, his Bankai makes reality into a game."
It's not objectively right, I just like it as a concept of Bankai being an evolution of the Shikai's abilities. This felt the most stark (pun slightly intended) embodiment of that belief.
My personal favourite? Ukitakes Bankai. So powerful it couldnt be shown or he would delete the verse

Maybe he can't use it due to the restrictions of his power from his pact with Mimihagi?
these lists are like P4P or GOAT lists in combat sports, it's all based on personal opinion, but as long as the persons logic and criteria is sound, then at least the opinion can be respected.
Yeah, for exemple I disagree with Dangai Joe being number 10, but that's because I believe the Humanization Technique shouldn't be taken into consideration when judging it since it's not part of the Bankai. But when it is taken into consideration, it being number 10 makes perfect sense.
Every list of strongest bankai in the whole bleach fandom is basically just a bunch of assumption.
I'd be happy just seeing him use his Zanpakuto's power in the Hell arc.
The namelessness is intentional, because Kenpachi always knew the pain of not having a name.
Ironically Nameless demon or devil with no name translates into something that sure sounds fitting for a bankai
That shatter fate shit is bullshit until we see it
Gin’s Bankai is wild.
Aizen just beat Urahara, Isshin and Yoruichi by himself with no issues at all, then transformed and got stronger… and Gin’s Bankai just immediately one taps Aizen and had him dead until the Hogyoku intervened.
That single ability combined with the speed of his Bankai puts it over at least a couple of the Bankai on this top 10 list imo.

one bankai that flies under most peoples radar and absolutely deserves to be on this list is Korose, Kamishini no Yari.
all gin needs to slay any opponent is to land a single hit, which is not a tall order given the sheer speed and range at which his bankai operates, and then touch his opponent once, which again shouldn't be too difficult since his opponents would not be aware of this fact until it's too late.
it's essentially suzumebachi, but with near infinite range for the first hit, without the second hit needing to be a precise spot and without leaving a huge visible mark that clues the opponent in to what's going on.
Presumably he can't simply name a rock "reio", for example, but given even in base form he can simply write characters like "barrier" and "hide" and have those effects applied absolutely, i'd think there's not too much he couldn't do
Ichibe also has mad other skills like special kido.
Absolutely - Ichibei, and by extension, his Bankai is just such a tough one to rank. As a fellow commenter said, I personally think the bulk of what makes him dangerous lies in his Shikai first and foremost, but an argument could easily be made for him to be higher.

Incredible video, thank you for the entertainment
It wasn’t acid. Her bankai doesn’t dissolve anything. The depiction in the manga that seemingly suggested the blood had acidic qualities was shown in the anime to simply be a metaphor for each character freeing themselves and coming out of their skin or removing the mask, so to say.
We don't know how her bankai works.
There is no acid the anime shows us that it's a metaphor for their true selves being unleashed it just controls blood
I feel like Minazuki is an offense and defense Bankai . She attacks while everytime she attacks , she also heals herself
@@deanjuno9072 the healing part is because of her kaido lmao
Minazuki deserved to be in the top 10 in my opinion. Corrosive blood that can instantly melt and kill anything as well as instantly healing any wound is a terrifying power.
Kamishini no Yari deserves an honorable mention as well.
I love Senjumomma bankai, but Zanka No Tachi just better
After Seeing Renji vs Uryu and how many new abilities that Soo Zabimaru has it definitely deserves to be in the top 10. It's one of the most versatile bankai in the entire series. The only bankai I would put above it that regard would be Urahara's which has limitless applications, and Mayuri's which mostly comes down to him constantly modifying his bankai and not due to its inherent abilities.
I think its very important to mention that, regarding Ichibei's Shirafude Ichimonji, it was explicitly stated that if he hadnt *explained how it fucking functions* to Juha, it wouldve legitimately killed him (or at least the black mausoleum would)
I think he had to explain it, I think bleach is one of the anime where explaining your technique gives it strength
Bro is a long lost Vizard😭
Rukia's should definitely be an honorable mention above Renji's. I'm sorry, but his just doesn't have a place with the others on this list.
In general, it's funny how people put Yamamoto in 1st place just because of the plot Because he was not defeated in a fair fight
Well yeah, you know someone is insanely powerful when the only time they are ever taken down in any capacity is when the cards are completely against them. Give the man two arms and he prob would have beaten the twin without having to reveal his banki.
I love that somebody enjoys bleach as much as me
Can't believe that gin didn't make it. His bankai could solo most characters in bleach except for god like one such as aizen and yhwach.
My headcanon for Kenpachi’s bankai is that it can very literally cut anything, even intangible things like concepts, even the very idea of “distance” becomes a nonfactor as seen when he cut down Gerard at a distance.

I’m a huge byakuya fan and I knew his bankai wasn’t going to make the top ten. I get it and agree for the most part
I don’t tbh, yes his bankai isn’t the strongest, not the fastest not the most destructive but it does everything so well it’s definitely better than Komomuras, now you can make a case that it isn’t better than Mayuris but tbh that bankai is heavily buffed by Mayuris intellect.
Byakuyas is just refinement
It covers for people it has good single person attack potency we saw that against Gerard, it had good defensive, it can be used against many people it is basically omnidirectional and you would say that’s worse than a one and done bankai like Komomura ? Byakuyas own words literally contradict that
„A sword swung in exchange for one’s life is not worth it“
@@smoothcriminal4618 I totally agree.
@@smoothcriminal4618byakuya bankai is versatile and has multiple forms and it’s also deadly
I'm ashamed to say this is the first Mr tommo video I couldn't make it through lol. The Byakuya snub is just too painful to deal with lmaoooo
If we’re talking about toshiros TRUE bankai I’d argue he can be top 6 but if its his normal one it’d go lower. I’d switch toshiros bankai with kennys imo since its far more versatile and broken. My list would probably be something like
10) kenpachis bankai
9) Toshiros bankai (can go higher if its his adult form. As far as we know he has to wait 12 minutes before he goes into his adult form which holds it back slightly)
8/7)Either shunsuis bankai or Byakuya’s . Shunsui’s is extremely broken with multiple parts but also has the most striking weakness, he cant use it freely when he wants because it can drag his allies into it. Byakuya’s is more consistent but not as overpowered so I rank them the same.
6) Kisukes bankai (limitless possibilities)
5) Mayuris enhanced bankai
4) ichibeis bankai (what mr tommo brought up was interesting)
3) ichigos true bankai (the weirdest one to rank)
2) senjumaru’s bankai
1) Old man Yama’s bankai
Let me know your list. Im fine with switching some of these around cause ranking just 10 is not easy😭for example rukia and gins bankai could have been honorable mentions. Kaname’s too especially if someone is caught off guard. I also tried to separate the bankai itself with its owner because something like Kinshara Butodan lowkey is really strong but Rose himself feels the need to thoroughly explain it in great detail lmao
i feel like you gotta have shinjis but seeing yours it would make sense.
@@Sasori2105 Exactly.
enlighten everybody here on how in tf byakuya n mayuris bankai r above kenpachis when they are weaker than him in general specially byakuya
Wow pretty nutty that the iconic Senbon Zakura Kageoshi isn't top ten, but well rationalized!
Shunsuis bankai always my favorite
I personally think Ishida’s Schrift is the most probable way for the Quincy to escape Senjumaru’s Bankai unless Yuwach gives them another Auscwalen amp 🫡
Great video! Only change I would make is I would drop ichigos final bankai to a lower spot just becuase of how little we see it actually do. I hope the anime will show us more of the power of his new swords.
You should do a new video of the top 10 bankais you wish we could see!
I always thought Kenpachi's Bankai didn't make him a mindless berserker, that he does actually control himself, even if he is unable to speak.
It's just that novels don't count, otherwise Kuruyashiki, Azashiro and Hisagi 🗿🗿🗿
Komamura got some loves, like his zanpakuto names "Tenken" means heavenly punishment, no one can't escape from him, until they got that punishment
Absolutely fair, and I made a mistake by not including Gin's!
@@MrTommo2304 It's fine, I liked your ranking and the reasoning behind them, I was just surprised that you of all people forgot to mention Gin haha.
If his Bankai points to you, you’re dead 💀😂
Ichibe's bankai is definitely stronger than his shikai because it's abilities can likely work on allies too. Imagine if ichibe decided to rename all of the fodder shinigami "arrancar" or something, it's such a busted ability that was only ever applied in one way.
The strongest zanpakuto,
The strongest Shikai,
The strongest Bankai,
Belonging to the strongest Shinigami in history.
Yamamoto truly had it all.
Any unsealed Squad Zero member let alone Ichibei claps the old man with low effort.
@@marvinkant5205what's squad 0 and who are all the members
@@o-vq1ix The Royal Guard who protect the Soul King, and their members are Ichibei, Oetsu, Senjumaru, Tenjiro and Hikifune, in the last Episode Ichibei just clapped Yhwach and Senjumaru just clapped Yhwach's Elite Sternritter all together.
@@marvinkant5205 thanks for explanation. but why is this group so strong
@@o-vq1ix Because they are empowered by the Soul King to be the last line of defense of the 3 realms, and Ichibei their leader is a reality warper who possesses the first Bankai ever.
It seems like Matai Fukuin Shoutai is almost an ability like The Visionary, in that it can do whatever he needs it to in the moment, according to information supplied (as opposed to sheer imagination). And since it was never used again, at least at present, it really does seem like a one-shot ability.
I kinda wish Kenpachi’s beyond Bankai design from Bleach Brave Souls was his actual canon Bankai design.
Get real bud she’s literally a nerfed toshiro
And + we've only saw the activation of her bankai and nothing more. Just imagine 10 years letter when she masters it.
@@J.O14 nope… her bankai is better 😂
@@Arcad1010 what part of strongest Ice type zanpakuto do you not understand it’s literally stated that its stronger this shouldn’t be an argument
Damn ichibie's bankai is literally an author's power, it takes a bullshit hax to defeat it and plot armor, no other bankai in the series that has hax like ichibies
If I understand Shinji's bankai correctly, its completely useless in 1vs1
you'd be correct
No because it probably can warp your senses like his shikai can if it's 1v1, it prob affects groups differently because obviously more ppl are confused.
it's not useless 1v1.
it can't make you win the fight, but it can make you survive when you're horribly outmatched by making your foe not perceive you as an enemy, basically ending the fight.
Would love to see a video of characters that counter another character perfectly and how.
Ichigos bankai is by far the strongest if it scares someone like yhwach
that's because it has hollow powers, try fuse Zanka no Tachi with hollow powers or any bankai, it would be as deadly or deadlier than Ichigo's
@@jafnimadzlan2377 And what's a hollow power suppose to do?
@@xenoemblem7 they are basically poison to quincies
@@xenoemblem7yhwach can't take it, just my opinion but I'm pretty sure Quincy seems to have a bit of weakness to hollow. I mean urahara restore all the captain bankai with hollow power.
And ichigo bankai(the old one) can't be taken because he has a hollow power in it.
@@xenoemblem7 they are basically poison to them
My favorite bankai : Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, hakka no Togame. ( Yeah i'm Kuchiki bias lol)
The strongest bankai overall: Ukitake's bankai. So strong That he could've end the show earlier.
i would say i think toshiros should be a bit higher and kenpachi lower just because of how kenpachi bankai work is just boosting his already monstrous strength which is nice but really one works as well as it does because of kenpachi
That's the same for ichigos bankai tho
@@Mars_yt699 yeah except he supposedly has some type of haces that makes ywach scared
@emmanuelakande3563 yea but as far as we know it just boosts his physical attributes
Well the common reoccurring theme surrounding the big three, is that all techniques/bankais can be overcome with high spiritual pressure/haki/chakra
All your videos says ichibe can beat yamma but now you say his bankai is unbeatable?
Glad to see my boy Komamura in the list.
His Bankai, in dangai joe form, is super powerful as long as 1. He is in human form, and 2. He doesn't succumb to his own selfish desire.
Kenpachi in bankai has more reiatsu than Shunsui so Shunsui would die in his own bankai.
