I was one of the apprentices lucky enough to be chosen to work on re painting this beautiful monster when she underwent maintenance at the Chullora depot. It seemed to me like everyone who worked at the depot (And there would have been well over a thousand working there back in the 70's) came to have a look at this magnificent loco. Long may she continue to capture the imagination of everyone who loves steam locomotives!
The passion and dedication of the people that keep the 3801 alive astounds me. I love this machine. She is a beautiful almighty beast. I watched the recent videos from 2021's resurrection. Spectacular and very emotional. Long may she run
Wow, I remember this documentary. Got this on VHS as well. My first ever 3801 video I got. Love the Background music they put on it. so fitting for the trip. Thanks for sharing.
The Train wreck near Condoblin . " How's everyone's Life Insurance......." 🤣. It looked NASTY actually . Level Crossing . The " Marla Incident " . Nothing that a bit of " Improvising " wont fix . Spirit of the Pioneer stuff . Excellent . Great Mini Doco .
He probably means the only 38 class in operating condition in preservation, being 1992, 3801 was the only 38 running before 3830 was restored to operating condition.

Best steam train video that I have seen by far, and I have watched a lot of them. My brother and I would have enjoyed this trip, but not our wives!
