I like you have found and embraced my lego passion. I love what I call Lego archeology. I love getting a big bin of lego from a thrift store or Facebook marketplace and finding what sets are in the collection, then piecing together the ones I want to build and display. Then like you I make junk builds if they are missing some pieces. I find that it brings me so much more joy than building one set out of the box for the same price. Plus you know I'm a dealitecter. Love seeing your process.
Fantastic!! I did the same thing with the Santa Fe Super Chief 10020, the most expensive pieces were the 6x28 base and the red front window. Went with aftermarket stickers too. Moc'd it a little to get power functions into it, and I thoroughly enjoy watching it running circles around the track, pulling some TTX double stack cars (that I also built from pieces in my collection). It's all about having fun. Keep it up, build something else from pieces in your inventory, and share it here!
Phenomenally awesome! Great job on fulfilling one of your dreams/ goals. That Ferrari looks absolutely fire! Keep up with the hard work and awesome videos my friend!
I pieced together a town hall module a while back ago. It was more satisfying when completed that way rather than buying from someone on eBay for $800. Plus u save a lot of money along the way
My passion is trying to put together sets I want from my stock. I’ve done a few. My most successful one was the Super Star Destroyer. I had 90% of it in my stock. I bought instructions and the parts I needed from Lego and Bricklink for a cost of $200
Awesome experience Greg! You remind me much of my own. A few things I have done that you may consider: Build a MOC based on based on LEGO instructions for some set; I made the American Express Train from the Lone Ranger Train. Build a modern part variant of an older set; this could be just a facelift or a complete redesign. I did this with the 40 Years tribute Locomotive as a facelift. My greatest bucket-list item since 2000 was a functional pendulum clock, which I finally realized a couple years ago. I'd love to turn you on to making one; please let me know if this interests you.
It looks amazing but the only thing that I think they did wrong is the headlights bc their the size of the speed champions one and the rear is a tiny bit too blocky
I'm glad you got to build your dream build. It looks so awesome! I would of done the same on the stickers too, its just stickers after all. What's the next dream build though? I'll keep watching to find out lol.
You get what you pay for I guess. The sticker sheet may have been cheaper, but it's not the LEGO quality. You can clearly see the white sides of the sheet. The LEGO stickers are fully red. I still have one new in box. Haven't gotten around to building it yet.
I agree that the stickers aren’t LEGO quality, but the LEGO stickers aren’t $30 quality so I made the call and I think it was the right one. The nice thing is I could always swap them if a deal comes along.
I had to have this car so much I’m pretty new to Lego so I just dropped £325 on a mint boxed one. Silly money so the wife said but she knows it’s going to look so cool on the stand next to the TV.

I’m right there with you! This is the way

Greg -- you saved your pennies and used your bricks! Great call on the after-market stickers. I'm so happy for you being able to fulfill your dream!

I’ve been looking forward to this video and it did not disappoint! Man, that Ferrari looks stunning!
Thanks Emile!

Nice work! That’s exactly my thoughts as well.

Just got an aliexpress version of this for like $30 pretty stoked to put it together
Cool .. you did it 😉🎉
Thats gonna be a lot of yardsales to build all those junkbuilds
5:43 that "GAP" is called a Naca Duct.
The hero I needed
There are some headlights at the front of the car that you can fold up.(They’re behind the actual headlights).
I forgot to show those off. I’m never going to make it as a LEGO RUclipsr lol
Awesome video
oooooo weeee Greg that's sooooo cool put that F-40 in special spot on a shelf
It’s a pretty cool set
Personally I would have printed those stickers myself like on google docs and put tape on it
Great share video
Im glad i bought it on sale. Still sealed in my closet.

There’s still a few on my list!
I was right!!! i said it on the last video about this!!
I have this set. Best car set I have built today.
It's a very nice look car Greg
Thanks
Man im glad I loved it back in the day and bought it 40% off when it was still on shelves. Still sitting in my display case
Same
That is the way to do it! Too bad you didn’t buy 10 more lol
@@brickitect yeah true but who could have known that the prices are going through the roof + I wasn’t thinking about LEGO as an investment back then.
Yo I haven't watched U for so long since I was five now I'm nine I love U guys so much😊😊😊
We appreciate you watching
Cool car

That was a really deep and passionate outro 🤣
🤣
So what did your total cost come out to compared to what it cost to get a used set somewhere on after market or even sealed one
Covered in the video and title. Just under $100. Used set only goes for $200. New is $300+
@brickitect I bought sealed set 3 yeTs ago right before covid why I was asking thanks guess I missed it in title I just click when I get a notify
🎉🎉❤❤
Отличная модель, жаль что я не успел её купить в своё время
Missing out on sets and trying to get them later is a very expensive thing to do!
im building this set from parts i got already except im building it in black instead of red
That’s going to look amazing. What are you doing about the windshield?
Can. YOu make a portrait
