@ 8:39 This was typical 1970s decor. Change out the area rug and it's not too terrible, especially if you grew up in that era. In another 40 years I can see the current home trends posted.....stark grey everything, cold and impersonal with the caption "Home Sweet Home".
6:48 That is the IDENTICAL living room furniture my in-laws had when my husband and I got married in 1977.....we STILL have one of the end tables in our bedroom as a bedside table. It's even the same exact pattern on the upolstry that their set had, right down to the wheel on the side of the mill.
As a 2000 kid I swear my great grandpa had that set, or at least something with that print (he passed on when i was 7, didnt go to the house much). I have a tiny chair set for toddlers that I used a ton as a kid that is similar
5:23 is a copy of a fireplace found in a castle....I think from Germany. The one in Germany matched the wall around it and had more detail around the sides of the face. Its regarded as a masterpiece and looks like one in the castle. The modified version in this video is not in the same setting, so looks more strange, but the concept of the "open mouth" fireplace featuring a devil or monster isnt new and is pretty awesome. And if that thing is carved out of stone, its actually quite impressive. Just out of place. Making the rest of the wall match would have helped a lot.
Parents got to buy a home outside of the city in '75 and my brother and i got to choose our shag colors of blue, his and mine red. Absolutely loved that room!!
1:00 I used to work as a home care, and one of my clients lived in a mobile home. It basically looked just like this. I would help her 3 hours, once a week and she expected I would dust every single figurine every time I was there. It was so much I could not do it in 3 hours and still have time to clean the bathroom and toilet, change her bedding, do her laundry, do the vacuum cleaning (just try navigating a vacuum cleaner around a house like that!!) and everything else she wanted me to do every week. She fired me. I didn't mind....
7:44 looks like a Japanese soaking tub set on the floor rather than cutting the slab and install it in the ground, saved a lot of additional plumbing work too.
6:22 ?!?!?! A ceiling full of.....what is that, confetti? Tinsel? Ramen noodles that fell in a pot of glitter? And RED is what you noticed in this room?🤔🤦
I live in "Amish Country" and so there are people are here in my home town who like that aesthetic and have literally put buggies, threshing machines, hay balers, old wagons, tractors, etc in their front yard....surrounded by tacky bikes and baskets and windmills and blah blah blah. Gross. One house has its entire property line marked not by a fence, but by old bikes, rusty chairs (not for sitting on, for putting other stuff on), statues, more bikes, strange lawn equipment (old mowers) and then more bikes. Its like they are trying to take the 1950's stuff and paint it pastels and use that as their fence. Another house, owned by a guy who owns and drives a semi...so NOT amish....turned his barn into a "B&B" that was "amish style". So that meant he left a tractor in the field hooked to equipment to rot, and the next field over he got a couple goats, a couple horses and donkey...all part of the view from the barn, and he can be seen dressed up like an Amish person giving wagon rides to kids. On an electric wagon. Some people live their life as a gimmick. The mickey house gave me strong vibes. They probably have their car decked out with mickey crap and probably wear mickey clothes too. They live vicariously through mickey. How sad.
I paused the video to see how much time was left. My thinking was there can't be that many more bad rooms to show. I was not even half way. I feel much better about my poor lack of ability.
Unlike many of the other disaster videos, some of these examples must have required genuine skills, resources and dedication to achieve. The question remains, WHY?
I'm Dutch and I used to work as a home care. One of my clients lived in a mobile home that looked just like the room at 1:00. Imagine being expected to dust every single figurine and navigate a vacuum cleaner in a house looking like that! 😅😅
1:12 Wow is right. Never shower there hung over. Or drunk! 2:33 the crooked one bothers me the most. I just got an ad for Home Depot, lol 3:19 or M.C. Escher? 11:36 this can't be a house, it has to be a TGI Friday's, an Outback Steakhouse, or a Houlihan's or something.
Ahhhh America! Land of the free, but don't you dare decorate your house in some out of the ordinary way! Would I have most of this stuff in my house? Probably not, so I won't. Neither will I give a rat's ass if somebody else chooses to do so. Their house, up to them what they put in it.
I do love pink but would NEVER do this (3:59) to my husband and son ROFL!!! Thanks so much, it's hilarious!!! Love to laugh and thanks to you that is possible. Warm greetz from an old (rebel) Pinkie BTW: some clips you show twice, hun!! Look out for that cause that is annoying!
9:06 Me: this actually seems really cute! Me 2seconds later: WHO NAMED THERE KID SMORES?!? AND WHY DID ASPHODEL SEEM LIKE A GOOD CHOICe?!? Their FREAKING dogs 😖 Still wonder why they went with Asphodel though?🤨 Oh it’s a flower!😅
Fireplace remodeling at 3:14 doesnt seem so bad, and I could live with bathrooms in 6:00 and 9:01. The rest...too many people with big budget and too much imagination. I don want to call it creativity so I don't offend actual creative people.
Yuck! I’m guessing these aren’t in the US. We’d never have those atrocities here! The Mickey Mouse ears one is probably from that Disney built residential community that designs the houses with Disney touches.
The Mickey ears doorway- How many times have they tripped into the kitchen or out of it???? 🙄Why? This can’t be modern!! Has to be from the 60s and 70s. Omg. It’s awful. 😱😳
I love tiger sofa😍And, by the way, some of those rooms are magical😻

The picture with the bed in the pool is creepy AF! Reminded me of those videos exploring backrooms.
You mean the pool rooms
Fly eggs bro
Liminal Spaces.
5:06 what a beautiful living room
I got a migraine halfway through. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Haaa! That was going to be my joke! You beat me for a few hours! 🤣
3:33 Who mows the carpet? The gardener, of course.
Some are not so bad, but well as long as the People that live there are comfortable all is good. If we all had the same Taste Life would be boring
Even the Same Taste in using capitalization.
There are just no words🤔🤣
Who says "money can't buy taste" OMG

@@karenglenn6707 Well I like it anyways (srsl) if it is not your cup of tea thats fine with me =)
Without going back, I'm betting you're speaking of the purple cabinets 😂😂
I'm sorry, but are we watching the same video? 😅
No, you're right..... everyone has right to have it's own opinion. 😊
@@laurakibben4147No, the green one. 😅
the pink and purple kitchens aren't that bad, not my taste, but not bad. Some of these had good concepts taken the wrong direction!
That Mickey Mouse head shaped entry actually looks pretty cool

Some Of These Are Actually Cool.
I love these, but I hate when they repeat like 80% of them from other videos.
Thank you so much for your video 😊.
12:10 The wallpaper is "Kewpie" dolls...and you are worried about the ugly mirror.. 😁

lol my brother and sister-in-lay had that sofa set (6:50) in the early 80’s

Not too unlike a few episodes of the original Trading Spaces.
