  • Re-uploading my old Vimeo videos. In April 2015 we fished a warm pocket of water in the NJ canyons and caught both Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna. Fishing aboard the "Blue Juice" a 27 Onslow bay with Captain Andy Wurst.

Hey Craig, what is your primary intel on where to target species. SST subscription, network intel , etc?

I use Terrafin for SST and Chlorophyll and as far as intel is concerned just talk to friends I have worked with over the years. I don't belong to any paid intel services at this time.

Thanks man. Do you just download the terrapin each time your heading out? How accurate is it compared to known intel from your network. Unfortunately I don’t have the large network of offshore buddies like you so I need to rely on other sources

They have an app that I will use to download SST and Chloro shots, by tracking the water and previous reports you can usually stay on a bite. Of course nothing is better than accurate information from people on the water but once you figure out a pattern the charts definitely help.

Hey man I sent you a dm on Instagram. These videos are truly inspiring, I am 16 and hoping to land my first bluefin this year on my 21 Parker. I saw your 23 regulator videos those are sick🤟🏽. I was wondering what kinda things you do before going offshore to ensure safety on a smaller boat like your 23. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks man

How much gas does your boat hold and what is your range? I sail out of the southern end of Long Beach Island on a 27' Sea Hunt Ultra with 180 gallons gas tank. I just purchased the boat this past October and I am hoping to be able to tuna fish this year but I am concerned about gas and what my range will be.

It has a 212 gallon tank but I figure about 200 gallons is usable. Out of Barnegat I can fish from the Hudson to the Wilmington with good conditions. I typically average 1.7-1.8 mpg overall for an offshore trip. The best way to figure out your safe range is to do some inshore trips and track your fuel burn under different sea conditions and then plan based on worst case fuel burn. I think you should be able to fish the midshore, 40-60 mile spots without issue.

@@CFalicon Thanks for the quick reply. I will be doing some tests this spring. I love your RUclips channel. I take notes when I watch your instructional stuff.
