Time will tell how long this will last, I think you are on well water? correct me if I am wrong. But I have heard that well water being hard will effect the small impeller inside this unit, I see a water softener but if its after this valve it wont help. Just an observation. I have well water and was looking at the YoLink water sensors instead, it shuts off the main water valve instead and I don't have to cut any pipe to install it.
Hi … check out Moens feedback on this … solutions.moen.com/Smart_Water_Security_Products/Help_Center/FAQ's/Is_the_Flo_Smart_Water_Monitor_and_Shutoff_compatible_with_a_hot_water_re-circulation_loop%3F “The Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff is compatible with hot water re-circulation pumps. In the event automatic shut-off of the home’s water supply through the Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff, it is recommended that the re-circulation pump is turned off to avoid any unnecessary wear to the re-circulation loop system. In addition, it is recommended that the power or pilot to the water heater or boiler also be shut off.”

Moen wants you to install a wye strainer with a 100 mesh or finer screen and blow out port. right be for the device , at least do it correctly if your going to make a video
Hi Corb765, Thanks for pointing this out! Since this video was made we have made adjustments to this system and I did not update the video. On the first page of the instructions it does say to install the Moen Flo before whole house filters… · Must be installed after water meter, water shut-off, and pressure reducing valve (if applicable). a. The intent is for the device to monitor and control all the home’s water usage. The device should go before water heaters, water softeners, whole house filters, or irrigation lines if they are to be monitored by the system. However later in the directions there is a note for homes with a wells that does describe the mesh strainer you described. Please note: On well systems, install Flo after the well pressure tank with 100 mesh or finer wye strainer upstream of the device. I originally missed this note and installed it without the strainer. So again thanks for bringing this up. We had other challenges with this installation. The main challenge being it was before an irrigation system that was very large and was not consistent because it was weather controlled. Moen does have some work arounds for this but the owner wanted to by pass the irrigation system to prevent unnecessary alerts. During the re work we did do it down stream of a mesh filter.
Damn. So you watched the whole video just to say something negative? It’s always the ones who don't dare to produce their own content that have so much to say or at least you could have written it better.
So with all the adjustments that you made is it worth it? Have you had any issues with it or bad tech support? What are the parts to add to the line that you added after the initial installation? Thanks for the video. Liked and subscribed
Hey buddy. Can you do a video showing all of the features of the Moen flo app, how to set time limits for auto shut off etc.
We can definitely make that happen! Will share something within the next few weeks.
@@JustMaintenance thank you.
Is that water tank piped in before the main shut off?

Looking into this right now for a well system. I noticed this too. Moen says Flo needs a 100 mesh filter in front of it for well water.
Do you know if this valve works fine when we have a water softener and recirculation pump?
