That truck had sufficient horsepower and gearing. What was lacking is traction. If it would have had lockers, locking all four drive wheels, it would have easily climbed the hill. Thanks for the video. Best Regards - Mike
I don't know if as it says the gross weight was 55 ton and the tractor was 290hp I would not be attempting those inclines. You are correct in diff locks may have helped.
@@martinsv9183 Well it did cause it got up just, my statement was "I would not be attempting those hills with 290hp" which according to the manufactures is actually 278hp. There is a huge difference in getting to the top "just" and getting to the top "easy"! Trucks are meant to last more than a few months, treating them that way is not the right way. I was running Volvo F88's with 290hp running at 32 ton gross in the 1980's. It was the wrong tractor, the wrong trailer, badly loaded, over weight, I don't know if you noticed but he was struggling with his steering as there was no weight on the front axle.

First and foremost, the issue here is poor engineer. If you watch the vids on this slope you will definitely surmise that the next challenge is driver skill..
In our country howo 290 is a 6 wheel truck and is typical a dump truck and im just amaze because of its power howo 290 can climb 55tons on a extreme incline there many version of howo truck here in the Philippines and the howo 290 is the lowest heavy equipment truck in the Philippines but in your country howo 290 is one of the heavy equipment in your country that is a trailer because here in the Philippines howo 290 is a 6wheel truck not a trailer truck

显然不是香港，山东济南产的，中国重汽下面的一个子品牌。你还可以看看中国重汽汕德卡SITRAK，陕汽，一汽解放，东风，福田，柳汽，上汽红岩，上汽依维柯，其他都是小牌子了。日野在中国也有生产，但是太一般，没什么市场空间，五十铃在轻型卡车里面还是不错的。现在中国主要推进电动卡车，比如比亚迪T9，T10，但是估计在你们国家应该要很久很久以后了，主要是城市环保问题。
