When neo RTH the wind helps you pushing back and you have additional speed to home. If you going home and against the wind your neo its in big trouble.
Sport mode is clearly way better. The regular mode is more like lethargic mode. And given you had THAT much battery power left, it seems you really do not have to go back until you hit 50%, because it seems the second 50% lasts longer.
The problem with waiting until 50% is that if the wind picks up even a little, you are in trouble. On my first long distance test (unfilmed) I headed back at 60% and encountered wind. My speed dropped to zero for some time. I almost didn't make it back.
@@Roos-Reviews Yeah. I saw another range test where literally 60+% was needed to get back. But in some cases, when you get home with like 30% left, one could have pushed it further. Living on the edge is part of the game, lol.
@@Roos-Reviews I hope so !! For me dji themself can create a larger battery for the neo, ok he is really light but don't tell me that with a few more mAh it won't be able to take off
Thanks for this! I had the combo but returned it due to the poor camera performance. For me the entire point of this wasn’t about distance but rather being able to pull it out of my jacket and make clips without needing a controller. Was shocked that I couldn’t reduce the sharpness without pairing it up with the controller; absurd that the app didn’t offer that through my phone. Back she went…. going to wait until there is an option without so many compromises. For those who say “but it’s inexpensive!” that may be true, but it was still $500.00 Canadian with the combo.
@@zacharyattack1234It wasn’t $199.00 It was $500.00 if you need the controller in the combo to lower the sharpness. Phone app has that feature locked out. It IS a good deal if image quality isn’t important. Hopefully there will be a “pro” version for a bit more money but with a decent camera.
Watching - just hit a kilometer. Air Photagraphy did a 1k conservative test, but his signal was marginal - he was in a copse of trees, they absorb signal with all the water present
Thanks, I'm going to have to research this now because I have been told different. And I'm seeing other bigger Canadian RUclipsrs say that we are allowed to. I'm looking into it.
I checked again and as far as I understand and have been advised, if the drone is below 250 grams, the only rule that applies to such a drone in this location is: 900.06 No person shall operate a remotely piloted aircraft system in such a reckless or negligent manner as to endanger or be likely to endanger aviation safety or the safety of any person.
Note: I try to fly at what is the most efficient speed. Determine this by DJI's Specs page, where they list what speed provided the flight time provided.
So 2 m/s for the Neo, or 7.2 kph. Hard to believe you would get more distance than in S mode...You can get better range with the S mode than with the N mode
@@Peakabike Depends on what you mean by range. If you mean distance over TIME you will get further faster. If you mean MOST DISTANCE you will get substantially LESS in Sport mode, all things being equal, meaning wind speed/direction, altitude, and any modes or power consumed recording, running obstacle avoidance, even a Geomagnetic Storm can affect it. Best range is achieved at peak efficiency. aka, the most EFFICIENT use of power. This is the number electric vehicle manufacturers seek. It's called physics. For kicks, google this: "Will a drone get more range if you fly faster in sport mode" The answer may surprise you. I was not surprised.
Well, you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about but hello it’s recording the goggle view which is not 4K. The three people liking the comment just lost up in the clouds.
It's just a low resolution screen recording of my phone, not footage from the drone. However, the real 4K footage from the drone is lower quality than the 2.7K footage from the Mini 2S. It is not that much better than 1080p, to be honest.
Thanks for tests. You made 2 km easily. Normal and sport test videos combined show its capabilities clearly. Well done.
You need a tree house. I enjoyed the different range tests. I give this video 5 thumbs up !!!
You legend!
Great test. I was wondering what the range was. Great footage
The best part was the tiny phone
that was epic to be honest.
Great range test of Neo! Thank you for that!
I hope soon someone will make Neo a big capacity battery just like Mini3
If he didn't set it to 4K, maybe it'll last longer
@@vueport99Imagine just using screen recording.
Nice, I didn't expect that it gots more range with sport mode
It was a surprise to me too.
Very impressive. Doesn't it feel weird knowing this little flying machine is in the huge sky far way by itself?
It's like I went to sleep as a child and woke up in the future.
Awesome range test💪💪
Sub here😎
Are you able to plot points where to track the shot & flight path with the app or is it just an auto return to take off?
It cannot do that.
I love the little phone 😂
Great work 👏 👍
This is just what I wanted tbh sport mode for distance then definatly
When neo RTH the wind helps you pushing back and you have additional speed to home. If you going home and against the wind your neo its in big trouble.
Very true. And the Neo doesn't do well in wind so it's extremely risky to fly far in a breeze.
Great rewiew
But should dji neo speed be like 50kmh in sport mode?
No, sport mode maxes out at 25kph.
@@Roos-Reviews ok maybe in manual mode?
@khalilkh7389 Yes, it can go faster in manual mode if you have the FPV goggles and controller, but without those, there is no manual mode accessible.
@@Roos-Reviews thanks for clear this for me 😃 now i better understand it 👍

Yeah in my last test I got back thinking "ah crap, I bet I could have made it to 3km". But perfectly still weather is a must.
Pretty good range. O4 works well.
well done!
neo가 셔터스피드, 조리개가 설정되나요? 자동아닌가요?
Battery is a lot better than I expected
Can you do also range test via phone only wifi
50m
What's the maximum elevation that I could reach? Can I go beyond 120m?
I can't speak for you, but I am limited to 120m.
Total timing of the battery??
I get 14 minutes in follow me or hover and about 10 to 11 when flying with the remote.
For me 2000m and always have 4 bar connexion, can be awesome with a bigger battery
I bet someone will mod this little drone with a larger battery and see what the real range is.

Yes
What was the wind it must have been hardly any to fly that away
It was very calm.

Two and a half is possible on a very calm morning in a wide open rural area.
This gave me heart beat
What's high altitude??
thank you
wow.....😇🇵🇭
Actually I googled transport Canada, it clearly says you need to be in visual range
