Testing out Forza Horizon 4 running on the AMD RYZEN 5 5500U Mobile APU running at 15w & 25w TDP. This is tested in an HP budget laptop with16GB of DUAL CHANNEL 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM.

You can config the boost TDP duration on the AMD tuning tool by the way, on custom presets, the options called "Long/Fast Boost Duration" and "Short/Slow Boost Duration" you can type 3000 in there, and you'll have infinite boost time.

How does xcloud work on this computer? I'm thinking of buying game pass ultimate and play forza horizon 5 on the cloud, so that way I can enjoy this game without a poweful laptop.
Personally I’m not the biggest fan of Xcloud and other game streaming services. I just don’t like the latency as it’s super noticeable in most titles and the fact that I have to be attached to a usb C to Ethernet adapter to make it passable. If you’re gonna game on WiFi, you’re gonna have a horrible time. The wifi chip that came with this laptop is Realtek so it’s dogwater on a good day and if you don’t have good WiFi coverage, you’re gonna have a bad time. Really forza horizon 5 is one of the better xcloud games as the latency isn’t as much of a problem, but again needing the constant Ethernet connection on a laptop that doesn’t even have a built in Ethernet port is really annoying.
@@EVOTech1 Thanks for the reply! Luckily I have Ethernet connection so I guess latency wouldn't be a problem. Graphics seem to be good, too. So as soon as I finish all my exams, I think I'm going to buy 2 months of ultimate to enjoy summer 😃
@@pelochobros7895 it’s certainly a great value. I’m hoping that as more advanced forms of WiFi come out, it’ll be an actual viable option. It would be awesome if TVs came with a built in XBOX app that just let you stream xcloud games straight to the TV with no latency.

@@BiteTheDust463 I’d go with the mx330 system if you can upgrade the ram. The MX330 does similar or better than the 5500U in games. The biggest disadvantage is the 4c8t cpu compared to the 6c12t cpu on the 5500u. If what you’re doing isn’t CPU limited then the MX330 will do a better job in things like gaming. Tho battery life in systems with both intel and an MX gpu tends to not be great.

The game does not natively support FSR and forcing FSR through a program like Lossless scaling is only going to make the performance worse than 720p for a slightly improved image.

The FPS counter is up on the top right corner.. ’m not sure if it’s visible in the corner to you or not. I don’t like how the game itself doesn’t let you adjust the text size or color. And I hate how it blocks me from using the MSI afterburner overlay to show the FPS in a way that doesn’t need a magnifying glass.

@@wasaczek1903 depending on the resolution yes. The lowest it went to was at 1080p 15W it was in the mid 40s at the lowest so it’s playable even at default TDP.
