So I am also pretty upset. It is killing the arts, down here. Quebec... we lost so many people who were working behind the scenes and on stage because of the pandemic. I am heartbroken and very bitter about how relieved I felt for opting for a communications degree rather than continuing higher education in theatre.

Can this be it's own season? I'd say just one more episode but this is the best execution of a musical theatre trivia show on the internet and it needs a full Broadway run. Or just have more episodes with Rachel. Equal levels of chaos and drama.
Rachel seems like the perfect fit for the origin spirit of this format, but boi would I not enjoy playing anything even slightly competitive with her (going by this, she might totally different with other players on the team, on another game etc). I mainly play coop board and video games of people who are this competitive, very much including myself.

These themed ones are great. It's nice to see people that really know about the topic. Seeing people trying to guess every single question is not as entertaining after a wile.
The vibe I got from this was mean older sister trying to not be a sore loser while cooler friend gets all the points, gay friend can't stop talking about himself and little brother just want everyone to get along while not being sure why he is there.
The cabinet positions mentioned aren’t established in section 2; NONE of the cabinet members are. They’re just like “the president can choose some advisors”

I know it's late, but I just realised that There is a second umm actually. Elder Price also had guilt about stealing a donut and blaming his brother, Jack.
I love Rachel Bloom so much. She's a great actress and her voice is phenomenal.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YEARS THIS IS MY MOMENT
The Moment Is Me
Siobhan keeps up her streak of getting all the Real Life Skills questions!
Omg, can we have a part 2!?! Us theatre kids are pretty much in severe withdrawal cause of the pandemic! I NEED MUSICAL THEATRE CONTENT
@Lady Seashell Bikini Oh I am so sorry hun! I feel ya. I was going to see Cats with my father, sister and best friend (I had been waiting 10 years for a tour to pass by Québec), Fiddler (was cancelled and refunded) and the tour revival of Notre-Dame de Paris (with my grandmother, who had seen the original tour with Garou in the year of my birth, 1998)
We don't get a lot of tours in Québec, but that year I was supposed to see a couple + some ballet and opera shows that I wanted to see. So I am also pretty upset. It is killing the arts, down here. Quebec... we lost so many people who were working behind the scenes and on stage because of the pandemic. I am heartbroken and very bitter about how relieved I felt for opting for a communications degree rather than continuing higher education in theatre.
There’s a part two on dropout. Grants the only returning challenger
Well, I have good news for you today! (Though i would also love for Rachel to come back)
I love that the Phantom mask covers the whole face *except* what it covers in the show
And Audrey has teef (with braces😂) and Joseph’s dream coat is monochrome
@Zenhunter141Because Raph’s sai usually have a different turtle’s mask displayed with them, although I don’t know TMNT well enough to say which one.
i will get absolutely nothing right. but i will still watch it.
wait, why am I watching this here, I have dropout!
I found out my friends dad won a Tony- he didn’t even know what it was and wasn’t aware it was that big of an award. His dad legit met Lin Manuel too
Same vibes as my acting professor who texted me one day and asked if I'd heard of a game called Borderlands because "he'd just done a few voices for the next [third] one," and "the game seemed to be a big deal." Sounds narcissistic summarized like this, but this man doesn't have a narcissistic bone in his body, I promise--he genuinely did not know that Borderlands is a triple-A game
@@calihoyer1415 Any cool characters he voiced?
Huh?? Who is he?!
They need to do this again with everybody coming back because this was by far the funniest episode
I think that absolute silence after Grant buzzed at the very end of the show was the part that ended up making me laugh the most. The rest of the show was hilarious, but just something about it ending on a joke falling completely flat was the perfect ending
It was a correction not really a joke I'd say?
I could watch this for hours, i need a second musical theater episode
I was like "that girl looks like Rachel Bloom" and then "oh wow" X'D
"Once More Without Feeling" or 'Poetry in High School Speech'
Every once in a while, I come back to this episode just to remember what it feels like to watch a shark sniff blood in the water. I am LIVING for their competitive spirits, all of them
What's funny is that she actually is called Medium Alison. That's how they credit the role
I wish they hadn't glazed over the fact that Grant played the Wiz, I would've loved to hear more about that. They tried to hold on to it, but there was too much much stuff being said 😂
he brought it up again in a recent episode of dirty laundry! (if you haven’t seen it) it was a high school show and during the production he accidentally talked shit about the pianist while his mic was hot in the theater, causing the hired adult pianist to fully quit during tech week. sounds like pure chaos.
Can this be it's own season? I'd say just one more episode but this is the best execution of a musical theatre trivia show on the internet and it needs a full Broadway run.
Or just have more episodes with Rachel. Equal levels of chaos and drama.
The episodes where people actually know the stuff on the show are always the best.
Rachel seems like the perfect fit for the origin spirit of this format, but boi would I not enjoy playing anything even slightly competitive with her (going by this, she might totally different with other players on the team, on another game etc). I mainly play coop board and video games of people who are this competitive, very much including myself.
Honestly she seemed like on a different wavelength than any other player I've seen on this show.
@@jerodast In a good or a Bad way
Love that you got Racheal Bloom on, such a great competitive spirit
Um actually...the cyclone didn't kill Nessa, Dorothy's house falling on her did
I love Rachel Bloom more than life
Yeah it's a change from Mike asking a question about something no one on the couch ever heard about, all three knew about all the plays mentioned in every question
Yeah even though I've seen this episode before that was what my mind went to this time, the cabinet is one of those many things that is a long standing institution in our government but not actually specifically written out in any sense in the constitution
Love all the incorrect props that are always in the background and especially the special ones in this episode are great. The Audrey II with braces, the reverse Phantom mask, they’re all great.
I am literally a musical theatre degree student!! THIS IS SO COOL!!! Thank you!!!
I love how Grant get to make a West wing reference at the end!
that 'the nature of humanity is that every so often someone just reinvents homestuck' but it's 'mr. burns, a post electric play' instead of homestuck
Favourite part of the episode was every one giving Groundhog Day the praise it deserves.
YES!! Tragically underappreciated show. But there’s talk of bringing it back to the Old Vic in the next season! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Siobhan's amazing. She does great on the regular nerd show, but she can also get on a themed episode and still murder the competition. And she got the real life skills question right again!
I hope someone tweeted to say that only a small chunk of Wicked takes place at Shiz
This is the first time I experienced the feeling when everyone is talking about something nerdy and I don't recognize any of it
The more I watch this episode, Grant becomes increasingly fun to see.
I really need to see Rachel getting all the questions right in another episode she deserves it
I know and care not one bit for musical theatre but this by far was one of the most interesting Um, Actually episiodes I’ve ever seen
I am not sure how much of this channel is a Trapp thing and how much is a College Humor thing, but I would love to see a Game Changer Channel similar to this format. Sam Reich, any chance?
None of this is a CH thing, dropout is independent now
I was never in my life so far out if my element but seeing all 3 being soooo nerdy about musicals made this an amazing experience.
I really can picture Grant playing the dentist. Like that mental image is vivid as hell
Theatre majors around the world are slamming their imaginary buzzers non stop
This is my favorite 'Um, Actually' episode and I don't even really know much about musicals (except for the really basic ones)
i used to watch CH videos and think "wow, they sure are mean to Grant" and now I watch this and I get it.
Alternative title: Grant tells his life story
Grant fuckin nailing that irl Um Actually at the end made me *howl* with laughter
I thoroughly enjoyed playing along... with a level of viciousness that equalled the contestants’ 😅
8:50 - so, in other words - “Ive been here the whole time”?
HOLY SHIT AT LAST. I've been wanting to see this one again for a loooong time.
a world without Siobhan Thompson in it is a world I don't wish to know.
Who knew theater nerds could get so cutthroat?
Well, theater nerds, obviously...
and yes, this is the same comment I made when the preview was posted on Collegehumor
and yes, now you get to get our upvote again. niice
Um actually, you know DRAMA!!!
Clearly you've never seen Sweeney Todd.
7:45 Um, actually, Urinetown takes place in a real place, because Little Sally says that "Urinetown is your town if you're hopeless, down, and out," meaning that Urinetown is the town of any hopeless people watching the show, and those towns are real.
