Katherine Howard: *Sings about her being used as a child by phedophiles and is beheaded at a young age.* Almost all the tik tokers: *What a nice song about my great relationship.*
Also with You're Welcome in west end Heathers is about sexual assault, Sincerely me from DEH is about suicide, and so many more songs. It's so dumb to misuse songs

its funny how tiktokers say that teachter kids are anoying and that musicals are weird, and HERE THEY ARE USING BIG FUN WRONG BECAUSE HOW THEY USE IT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT OF HOW THEY ACTUALLY DO IT IN THE LYRICS
Ella Swizzle These musicals are far from underground at this point lol. But for me, literally just looking at some of these I know they have no clue where the song is from.
Little do these TikTokers know that the song 'Sincerely, Me', is actually about two boys faking emails from a boy, named Connor, who had committed suicide, just to supposedly prove that they were really good friends, after they found a letter in Connor's jacket pocket that was addressed to Evan, (one of the boys who was faking the emails), that Evan actually had to write to himself because of his depression and anxiety.
I know right!!! I spent 2 hours watching the illegal version, and people on Tik Tok listen to 20 seconds of a 5 minute song, and then they are all like "Omg I am such a theatre nerd tehee" It gets me angry, people 😡
I actually heard the sound and heard the name heather and that was how I got into heathers, but I never used it in a TikTok because I thought that if you wanted to use a song from a musical, you had to know at least 2 songs.
As a theatre kid and an Internet girl, I hate how ppl think "big fun" is about mean girls(not the movie) and bully chicks. I'ts actually about kids saying their parents are the worst.
*songs comes up while me and my friend have conversation* Me : hey that's from a musical! Him : Nah that's for TikTok Me : no it's not, it's from a musical called- Him : musicals are so out of style, there're cringe Me : *pulls out gun*
a lot of people have had bad experiences with people who use theater sounds without knowing where they come from, so here’s a positive experience: there’s a girl who i know (we aren’t exactly friends but she’s considered a “popular” girl) and she was using a theater should and i told her that it was a musical theater number, she asked where it was from and she listened to the whole thing. she’s not a theater kid, but she was open to the idea :)
Something similar happened to my friend. She went up to me and asked me about some of the sounds she used. One lockdown week later and she zoomed me saying she wanted to see Six with me after lockdown ends,
I wish that were to happen my friends are like can it with Newsies, nobody wants to hear your theatre songs(them literally knowing a theatre bit from tiktok)
This is what happened to me except it was my friends introducing me to a musical. It was Six, and I saw a video thumbmail of an animatic about Six. I just ignored it for the most part until my friends started talking about Six and I eventually caught on with the trend. We were six of friends, so we even had this debate on who's who in Six. I was Anne Boleyn because of her bubbly and energetic personality.
It’s like that with the trend with the audio “anime is an important part of our culture!” Cause most use it not knowing it comes for a killing game then when we tell them they say we’re hate keeping it ;-:
YES we need more people like this I literally got in an arguement with a girl who was telling me Sexy from mean girls wasn’t from a musical and was an “audio originally from TikTok”
I wouldn’t care so much if they knew what the songs were actually about and understood the context. I literally can’t listen to All You Wanna Do without thinking about everything that happened to Katherine. Seeing TikTok use it as a ‘look at my new so compared to my previous one’ thing is really unsettling.
I agree with you. If they understand the message and appreciate it, then they can use the song, but only if they tell everyone to go actually listen to the musical it comes from and understand what the creators were trying to convey.
dude I always get weird stares when continuing to sing the rest of All You Wanna Do after the audio ends- like y'all know there's an entire rest of the song, and an original source as well?
I remember I stopped listening to 'All You Wanna Do' halfway through the song, because I find it kinda difficult to listen to it after learning about what happened to Katherine. It's just hard to listen to, despite the upbeat instrumental.
Yep! We do! (Haha I wish, theatre kids are only really noticed by other theatre kids unless we comment on or duet someone’s video saying “THAT’S CALLED (song name) FROM (musical name)” and then people start to realise who really rules.
**can all of these trends die so the theater kids can reclaim the songs** OH MY GOD I JUST REALIZED PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY COMPARING THEIR LOVER TO HENRY. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. The beetleguese ones are pretty cool though.
Everytime I see a straight girl who likes to act like she's quirky and says shit like "that's the tea xoxo" lip syncing to Don't Lose Ur Head a piece of me dies
Not a theatre kid but I apreaciated and love musical...and seeing tik toker ruin it...make me want to slap them and give them any peice of lecture of what the song really means.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO ALL MY FAITH IN HUMANITY JUST WENT DOWN THE DRAIN TO HELL. You can see All You Wanna Do is not a lighthearted song literally from the first few lyrics god.
Okay but even even if they didn’t know about the song why would they compare anyone to Henry?! He literally arranged for the execution of 2 of his wives! A part of me wants to respond to the videos asking if they need help because of the song and then I remember their just using musical sounds obviously for attention 😤
Musical: tells history, art, literature, and extraordinary stories with lifetime lessons, deep problems that we once faced and are facing, and teaches values in an artistic and creative way Tiktok: hmmmm...let me make this as shallow and cringey as possible
Disappointed that Heathers: no one got shot by a horny psychopath Six: no one got beheaded Hamilton:no one founded a country Dear even Hansen: no one sent emails to and as their dead friend Be more chill: no on committed arson and swallowed a supercomputer Beetlejuice: no one got in a car accident an got transported to an alternate reality
I’m pretty sure no one in heathers got shot by a horny phycopath, unless JD has a secret passion for the study of algae then I think you mean psychopath
I love 'No one founded a country' The US just ceases to exist because tiktok caused a major time rift and stopped the country from being founded and so now we all live in a british colony
More like a demon ghost because once his name was spoken 3 times (in the movie) or said 3 times in a row (the musical) then he was seen by humans other than Lidia.
E_Fox snowspirit Well, there was the older trend with the Anna of Cleves song, get down. It was the one where people did a make up transformation at the queen of the castle part? Kinda cringy if you ask me
it's subliminal messages, so they sub-conciously put the idea of decapitation, thus raising the percentage of murders, to stop over-population. And that's what the government doesn't want you to know. And that's on watching too many Shane Dawson videos.
my favorite thing about this is how oblivious they are about what the songs are about. like All You Wanna Do is about a teenager getting sexually assaulted, and then killed. What I Know Now is about a woman who committed suicide and is telling the others to stay alive, Say My Name is basically about a demon trying to stop a teenager from killing herself by making a risky deal, Don’t Lose Ur Head is literally about how a girl got beheaded, Sincerely, Me is about a fabrication of emails from a guy who committed suicide and the other guy is using him for basically clout. Like all these songs usually have really dark backgrounds and if people like the way they are then maybe they should learn their stuff.
Big fun is about teens getting drunk at a party (which eventually leads to the murder of heather chandler and then JD going insane and murduring two jocks and eventually tries to kill Veronica and blows up the entire school, killing himself instead)
Literally, I asked my friend "do you know the song big fun from heathers?" "no" "well do you know any heathers songs?" "candy store" "whats your favourite line" "dang dang diggety dang a dang" Me : internally crying my lungs : dead
I was walking my friend home once he said, choose a song for us to listen to, don’t pick one from a musical. I couldn’t choose and so he picked a song. H e p i c k e d b i g f u n Edit: ALERT! ALERT! THAT FRIEND HAS SEEN MY COMMENT! THAT FRIEND HAS SEEN MY COMMENT! ABORT MISSION!
I hate when people use these and don't know where the song is from. I once asked a girl in my class if she knew where 'Big fun' was from, she had no idea until I sung the song and was said ' Oh, it's from TikTok!' -_-
Tik tok: mean girls Big fun: Alcohol and Weed Tik tok: Boyfriends❤ All you wanna do: A young girl getting sexually assaulted and then getting beheaded Me: *makes sense*
*Boy in my class: Martha dumptruck in the flesh,* Me: Here comes the cootie squad! *him: you should shut up heather, sorry heather looks who's with her oh my god!* Me: Showing up here took some guts! Time to rip em out! *Him: Confused look*
I did this with my friend and I was so disappointed in her she really said "wait there's more to it?" Then I told her it was a musical and proceeded to make fun of me for it :D
unpopular opinion: I think its fine that they use the song and sometimes dont know what it really means or havent listened to it. But it is really annoying when they use the songs and stuff and still call MT kids annoying or say that musicals suck. Or when you start singing a song and its like 'oh thats from tiktok' 'actually its from a musical' 'no its not lol theatre kids amirite?'
My biggest issue is not as much as doing it, as musch as doing it BECAUSE IT'S A TREND. Like, I've seen musical songs out of it and I enjoyed them long before looking into the actual musical. My problem is that it is made because others make it.
One time these kids in my class were so singing Big Fun and I was like “I can’t believe you actually came! It’s exciting-“ they cut me off and asked what I was singing and I was like Wtf you were just sining big fun They called it a Tiktok sound
KTO thanks god I’m not the only one- I heard the part in meant to be yours from Heathers where JD sing: “Veronica Veronica Open the door please“ ect. And I loved it-
Don't appreciate that I've been a musical geek for almost my entire life and committed to knowing almost every word to every musical just so my 9 year old sister could learn like 30 seconds of a musical song from tik tok and not understand a word of it and not know what it's from. Like yes. Sing a song about someone being sexually abused and someone trying to kill themselves oh yeah and a ghost lady singing about how her LIFE FELL APART and being depressed! Then think it's something fUn.
These are pretty annoying. They don’t actually know some of the depressing context of the song. Like All you wanna do. It’s about a little girl being sexually abused all her life, then growing up to be beheaded by a king. Then the smartphone hour,
i know right?!?!?!? It's kind of annoying because they don't know anything about and just use the sound because it's cool and doesn't actually know that some songs are about abuse and suicide.... bruhhhh
I don't care that TikTok uses songs from musicals, but what really pisses me off is that they use All You Wanna Do. A song about the grooming and abuse of a child. On a platform mainly for children. That's not appropriate. And they're using the "I think we can all agree that I'm the 10 amongst these 3s", and acting all cute with it. Like, no. That's not what the song is about. Stop. Kind of the same with Don't Lose Ur Head, but not to the same extent, because the song doesn't get too extreme, playing the entire thing off as a joke. So I kinda get that one.
One time, my friend knew a part of 'Don't loose your head". I got excited, thinking she knew six. Then she told me she knew it from a tik tok. *i have never been as disappointed and I've looked in the mirror*
I had the same thing happening with the same song! So disappointing. Now she's into Hamilton but she's kinda acting like I know barely nothing about Hamilton???? As if I hadn't been a fan for years???? Like sis move over-
Same but worse she said oh u watch tik tok I never knew while singing haus of holbein ( she said the same thing aswell when I played don't lose your head)
Beginning: idc Six: ok these songs don’t really need to be on tick tick Beetle Juice: ok you ppl what is your problem Hamilton: ok I’m glad I deleted tick tock Waitress: ok I have no respect for tick tock anymore Charlie and the chocolate factory?: ok let me tell my bff to delete tick tock
So they took from six not only "Don't lose your head", but also "All you wanna do"?!?! Someone help me - these tik tokers are using song about sexually assaulted kid for memes!!!! I feel alfuw. These musicals bring me such a joy and I've learned to live the musical theatre community and the way music is combine with story. I just feel bad about that.
Especially if you've seen the live version of AYWD, like it's supposed to be a upbeat heartwrenching song about K Howard's life and they're just taking one line out of context... bruh
Purrpawz Yeah I saw Six live and All you wanna do is really not a song people should be using in a ‘sexy’ way or just the annoying Tik toks that people use it for 😬
Storytime: I'm in drama club, and since im on crew, im helping cast pick costumes for our play, my friend who uses tik tok is saying the line from All You Wanna do (NOTE: obviously my friend also likes theater, but its not to the extent that you would think) Me: "oh you listen to Six, whats your favorite song?" Her: "Whats that? This is from tik tok." Me: "No, its from Six the musical" Her: "No, its not." Me: "no no, the song you're speaking dialogue from is "All You Wanna do" from Six the musical. Her: "whatever, its not even important." same thing happened with Beetlejuice.
This song goes out to all the people that have said that a song from a musical is from TikTok. Its called Wearing Yellow to a Funeral. Sing along if you know the lyrics [Insert person here] was a masSIVE-
@@Phant7sm hm. Actually a song about a young girl thinking she's in love and being sexually taken advantage of multiple times before finding a friend's and being beheaded for seeing them...not the best song to show off your partner to lmao
the musical is just earning more publicity. Instead of hating on tiktokkers, just educate them in the comments (politely). I discovered Six on tiktok, because I wondered where the song was from and looked it up like many others
I always feel a bit pissed at the people on tiktok who use all you wanna do to show off your boyfriend when they realize the girl in this song and the actual events they sing about like her being young and in such a big turn of events that happen to her
Me listening to heathers at school: The kid in my class: I know that Me: ok what are their names Him: uhh heather Me: you got three right Him:what?!?!?

People just hate BMC because it's for teens and young adults to relate to, it's not like the classics. People shouldn't hate, just because they don't relate
this just goes to show that they shouldn’t make fun of us then turn around and use the songs we love and they make fun of us for loving. idm them using the songs, but please. be nice.
The Meant to Be Yours trend (veronica open the door) is what got me into Heathers! I decided to look into where the sound came from, and now look at me, Heathers is my favourite musical of all time! 😄

These musicals are far from underground at this point lol. But for me, literally just looking at some of these I know they have no clue where the song is from.
Little do these TikTokers know that the song 'Sincerely, Me', is actually about two boys faking emails from a boy, named Connor, who had committed suicide, just to supposedly prove that they were really good friends, after they found a letter in Connor's jacket pocket that was addressed to Evan, (one of the boys who was faking the emails), that Evan actually had to write to himself because of his depression and anxiety.

a lot of people have had bad experiences with people who use theater sounds without knowing where they come from, so here’s a positive experience: there’s a girl who i know (we aren’t exactly friends but she’s considered a “popular” girl) and she was using a theater should and i told her that it was a musical theater number, she asked where it was from and she listened to the whole thing. she’s not a theater kid, but she was open to the idea :)
YES we need more people like this
I literally got in an arguement with a girl who was telling me Sexy from mean girls wasn’t from a musical and was an “audio originally from TikTok”
I wouldn’t care so much if they knew what the songs were actually about and understood the context. I literally can’t listen to All You Wanna Do without thinking about everything that happened to Katherine. Seeing TikTok use it as a ‘look at my new so compared to my previous one’ thing is really unsettling.
Especially since it's King Henry 8th, who isn't the best dude to compare your boyfriend to.

Kinda unrelated but my friend made a tik tok about his ex using all you wanna do flexing her new bf and said that was why he left her-
Thank👏🏻you👏🏻
my favorite thing about this is how oblivious they are about what the songs are about. like All You Wanna Do is about a teenager getting sexually assaulted, and then killed.
And Smartphone Hour is about a boy who attempted suicide in a house fire.
Never Ever Getting Rid Of Me is about a guy who stalks a woman until she agrees to marry him

i would do ANYTHING for people to stop using AYWD in TikToks about their significant other
ikr! it’s nothing about that and it’s so annoyinggg
Exactly.... listen to the song first and realise how dark the song is
Same oml
you can’t fact-check every song you make a tiktok to, literally everyone is so salty about these things
the musical is just earning more publicity. Instead of hating on tiktokkers, just educate them in the comments (politely). I discovered Six on tiktok, because I wondered where the song was from and looked it up like many others
I always feel a bit pissed at the people on tiktok who use all you wanna do to show off your boyfriend when they realize the girl in this song and the actual events they sing about like her being young and in such a big turn of events that happen to her
Me listening to heathers at school:
The kid in my class: I know that
Me: ok what are their names
Him: uhh heather
Me: you got three right
Him:what?!?!?
lol i asked a kid what the song is called and his reponse was "uuuuuuhh....Heather?"
Serenity Schulz hahah lol
My friend thought one of their names was weather because of the line “look whose WITHHER” so she was just singing “shut up Heather, sorry Weather”

Theatre kids: **sing the whole song just to confuse the TikTokers**
Y'all the "Veruca Says" one hurts, cuz who's gonna tell them that they need to be professionally trained in ballet to do it
Omg yes
True
their heart would get "ripped" to pieces if they found out
@@sofiaanttila863 AHAHAHA. That would've been a total "nutcracker"
;)))
I thought jojo actually is a very good dancer? Wasn’t she like on that dance moms show?
(Edit) I’m not a jojo Stan or anything. It’s just what I saw and one of her recent videos she did one of the continuous ballet turns (I forget what it’s called).
I get so sick of people saying all you wanna do is bout cute love. Its about a teenager being sexual abused and was beheaded for it.
W H A T ? BMC is getting so much hate but everyone's using it? ExCuSe Me?
Be More Chill is getting hate?? I've loved it for years!
Be More Chill is my favourite Musical atm and it annoys me when 'theatre kids' say they hate it .
@@alannah784 i am a musical fan and theatre kid, love the original BMC but hate the broadway version and songs
People just hate BMC because it's for teens and young adults to relate to, it's not like the classics. People shouldn't hate, just because they don't relate
IKR?!? It is really good if you don’t even like it you don’t need to complain how it’s bad just 🙄
I'm not a Musical Theater kid - I was in marching band, but I was curious about where these songs came from. This was very helpful, thank you
I'm both lmaoooo
Marching band kid here too, I like both, but there is someone in our band who are both. She acted and sung in a few productions
Me too!!
this just goes to show that they shouldn’t make fun of us then turn around and use the songs we love and they make fun of us for loving. idm them using the songs, but please. be nice.
YESSSSS!!!!
You couldn’t of said it better!
Fun fact: the heathers trend is the reason I discovered musical theatre and now it’s my entire life
YES THIS IS HOW EVERYONE SHOULD BE
Same! It's how I discovered Heathers!!!
The Meant to Be Yours trend (veronica open the door) is what got me into Heathers! I decided to look into where the sound came from, and now look at me, Heathers is my favourite musical of all time! 😄
I will admit I never grew up as an MT kid (I wish I did tbh but I grew up more as a dancer)... but I truly have fallen in love with musicals these last couple years and respect MT kids/students with my whole heart. I found out about Six through tiktok tbh but I’m still not a huge fan of people using these songs out of context
Mari Manela SAME! Except i found about MT last year through tik tik
Same with me, I quit ballet around a year ago and theater has been the thing to fill the void ballet once filled
Mari Manela I also found six through TikTok from all you wanna do but I now get mad when that song is out of context because they don’t even know what it is about. Plus when you see 5he show it is soooo sad
I feel like some are good to use, but others (like All You Wanna Do) are really only okay in certain contexts.
I found Six through Heathers, another awesome musical!
Me: *screaming at my friends that these are from musicals*
My friends: ...but tik tok-
Me: SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Crazy SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH is necessary
Like in dead girl walking
Maybe start singing after that too and totally weird them out and then be like ok so these are musical songs while they're still wondering what the heck just happened

She is my god, my lord and savior and simply seeing her makes me 50% gayer
DID SOMEONE SAY DRACO MALFOY?
HELL YEAH
Bitter that MT tik tok still hasn't jumped onto Starkid and they just talk about Hamilton all the time (don't get me wrong, I love Hamilton but like... other musicals exist)

THEY DID NOT RUIN SINCERELY ME-
THEY. DID. N O T.
IT WAS A CURSED SONG TO BEGIN WITH

"You know- Hamilton, Beetlejuice, The one with the *red, yellow and green girl*, And the um.."
"uH oH-"
"HerE wE goO~"
"You SeNt hiM KiseSS"

I really want to comment this on one of those videos now
@XRaspberryTeaX
you can if you want!
Ibuki Mioda your so nice🥺
and then... beheaded her...
I think the “All You Wanna Do” one is so ironic bc everyone’s like “yeah I’ve moved on to Henry the 8th” and he was the worst 💀

Trinity Noelle Betty Finn was cut out of the musical and basically just merged their characters together (Betty and Martha) so that’s why Martha and Veronica are friends I think

I've seen You Gotta Die Sometime and What Would I Do from Falsettos going around and everytime i get so upset because they take these extremely touchy and very important sad songs and use them for random shit
I’m sorry what?! I’ve only heard the “a homosexual” part of falsettoland used how dare they!
I've accepted them taking all the other songs at this point but Falsettos? Why must they take the things I love?
Okay they went to far with this one. Do not use songs about a man dying from aids and his lover mourning him for some stupid shit. I’m fucking pissed now
Wow. This is annoying. People gotta look into the songs if they’re touchy. Like, everyone looks at me insane, especially when I say that All You Wanna Do, the song they use about getting new S.O is about A LITTLE GIRL who’s getting sexually ABUSED AND GOT PRESSURED INTO S E X THEN GOT BEHEADED
J̵n̵y̵x̷x̸ ̸ A̶n̷i̴m̸a̵t̸i̸o̶n̵s̸ ̵ seriously though, has no one ever heard of Henry the VIII because he’s pretty damn well known and it’s because of how he treated his six wives. People are fucking stupid
