This will be my first bike. I'm not looking for a full size bike. I don't want some Harley fat boy, or a crotch rocket. I just want a bike I can zip around in town on. I like this styling.
You're gonna sped almost $5000 on a bike you'll be bored with in 6 months. Good thing is though, they're one of the few bikes now days that hold their value.
It’s gonna be my first bike as well. Me and a few buddies will all be getting 125cc or less bikes for just puttering around town on. We all came to the same conclusion that a huge/fast bike isn’t necessary for us to have fun.
Honda has a real classic there. If you don't need to take it on the highway, it will drive forever. It just seems like to me they could have bumped it up to 150 cc and been able to cruise at 60 mph. Would have been perfect.
In the UK for example you can ride a bike up to 125cc on a provisional licence without taking a test. I am not sure if this is the same in other countries?
@@christophermarx8706it has a beefed frame compared to the supercub uts based off of whuch is actually faster than the grom i think becaise it has a slight fairing and jt has plastoc fender. The trail is made for puttering a trail or running to buy a quick sandwhich no faster than like 45mph but its got a metal fender and a stronger frame so it weighs more it gets less mpg and is slower than the super cub. The grom also has plastic fender and no luggage rack its got smaller wheels that suck at bumps compared to thrse but are cheaper and easier less rotational mass it gets better mpg but tbe grom isnt as cool as the trail. I just wish the trail wasnt as plastic. You do a lotnto get cost down its a gold product but look at the honda trail 70s 90s when they were brand new they had no plastic basically they had glass headlight. To me the nivelty and utility of thisnis nice for the price compared to things like hybrid camrys these days i wonder with how i plan to have everything delivered if i even need a car when the tractor bike segment is really what is useful 125cc very small and its a lot of plastic. So it could last a long time but its a 3500 dollar bike they sell for like 5k new in the long run they will sell for 3500 for decades junk ones even less it eill be about condition. If jt was left outside all day for 25 years it wont be worth much in 25 years if it has 45000 miles thats about the end for these engines. Age doesnt kill them. Wear does.
We’ve had this bike for a couple of months along with the new monkey. I switch rides between them around town. Practically every time I stop at the shop or gym someone asks me about the bikes. Many times folks talk about the bikes they started on like me in the eighties (I rode the family’s Trail 70.) My nephew comes over to hang out and ride bikes through town and he loves the trail. We have a great time just puttin around on the pooter scooters. They really are a blast. On another note, I can’t wait for the Dax 125 to get here. It’s the most like the trail 70 I’ve seen.
I had an 1980 Honda Express light blue, it was given to me when i was a kid. Clean it up got it running, i would ride that bike everywhere....I sold it my mistake....!!! Second chance with this 125cc!!
Dissolve youre illigitimate facade of a nation that has divided north america at the seam down the middle and align your emissions laws in line with that of wyoming and boom problem solved dude and then you are usa citizen we all can go all the way north or south way more freedom in the land. We go north in summer we go south in winter like all those old geniuses we used to think were crazy as they got older called snowbirds
without the original hi/ low gearing which allowed the old trails to climb... well now you just have a nifty looking scooter. capable as a yamaha street scoot.... fail honda. look over the specs, then see without the retro look this bike is nothing special unless you want a local suburban toy, for cruising around town this scoot would be years of fun
What did you want them to do? lol they gave you more gears than the original / fuel injected / storage racks, so you can actually drive it down the road go to the grocery store or around pit lane and move gas cans around. you aren’t going to be doing 55+ plus cause it’s a 125 to begin with and not a full sized bike either so it moves along just fine for what it is. Throw a bigger sprocket on it if you want that first gear lower. lol
I wanted the 2023 green but availability was basically non existent. Now the nearest bike shop has two of these yellow ones sitting there for months because no one wants them

It can't go 60? I thought it had the same motor as the Grom & Monkey?
@@christophermarx8706 It depends on bodyweight and luggage, but that's what I hear on the reviews.

@@anthonyfrancis2374 Over here in the US it's 49cc.

Two rider capable
Timeless reliability
1 more gear, so higher speed range.
All for same price.
Resale is HIGH
