Hello, I have question. I have 2.0 TDI 8V PD engine, I bought camshaft kit from engine team and they recommending check head straightness with plastic gauge on camshaft bearings. Do you think this procedure is necessary? Thanks for your answer.

I am only a DIY enthusiast so i can only give my own opinion, if there is no sign of headgasket failure or occurences of over heating then i can not see why your head would be warped? If non of the above then i would see no reason to. Good luck!
