SET UP ROOM OF REQUIREMENT. You need to utilize your space by setting up as many stations as possible. This way you don’t need to empty a pot to grow something else. You will also be able to collect more potions and plants at once, instead of waiting for one thing to grow at a time.
Oak: "I'm surprised I haven't met the person I need to learn how to pick locks" Me: "You've had the quest to learn how to pick locks for 3 episodes now, it's just sitting there in your quest log" Oak: "Drop a comment in you were yelling at your screen about mallowsweet leaves..." Me: "No, not yelling, long past yelling LOL. Now I just shake my head and chuckle"
Its surprising how many streamers I've seen bemoaning the inability to pick locks while ignoring the quest to pick locks. One spent several minutes trying to interact with the first demiguise statue while ignoring the quest giver standing right next to it.
Love watching Oak kick himself for picking up that love letter without realizing it's part of the exact quest he was looking to start at the beginning of this part.
Wholesome moment alert: Oak, in the middle of talking about something else, spots an owl, STOPS EVERYTHING, and gasps and tries frantically to find it. Oak, you big ol' softy.
To get bigger pots you need a spellcraft from Tomes and Scrolls. It would also be good to get into Gladwin Moons quest soon, it’ll give you Level 1 Alohomora to open locks, so you can go into houses and get some more money.
A few tips: 1: I noticed in a few episodes that when looking for something, like the exit to the greenhouses, you don't look around 360°, above and below you (the door was literally right next to you but didn't looked that way). 2: to buy different pot sizes, the spell craft is at Times and Scrolls. Arrange the Room of Requirement to have multiple growing pots and brewing tables to have multiple things growing/brewing at the same time. 3: If you get stuck on the side quests, don't stress yourself out on it. Just do another side quest or the main quests. 4: Remember you can pick things up while on your broom. You don't have to get off it to pick up some things. Great flying, by the way, on the second flying trial!
He's done the same on other quests focusing on what's directly in front of him and not looking around to see if he needs to interact with something else.
Oak, you have to collect your challenge rewards. When you open the challenges tab, everything red is something you haven't collected yet. You have to select them to get your rewards. The Merlin Trials don't give you spell sets, they give you more gear slots. That means you'll be able to collect and hold more gear at a time, so you won't have to sell it as often. This is especially helpful when you're out churning through quests or exploring, where you come across a lot of chests.
The laughs I get watching Oak stood ditectly in front of a poacher on the ground wrapped in spider web talking to him trying to work out who is speaking has been a feature of several epidodes now! 😂😂😂
The quest that rewards you “Alohamora” is what you need to pick locks(: I would do that one right away next time so when you’re exploring you can enter the locked rooms(: there are different levels to lock picking, 1-3, so you will need to do a few quests to be able to unlock every door but well worth it!
Oak I just wanted to say that it’s more than okay if if you decide to watch some videos with tips & tricks for this game. There are SO many puzzles and things that can be confusing, I know I would have chucked my Xbox out the window multiple times in frustration if I hadn’t gotten some help from videos along the way 😉 Even in the middle of playing, if you get stuck, take a minut to watch a video about it, it’s fine!
The large pots are the large potting tables…. You have to go to Tomes and Scrolls for the different size tables and im in the middle of watching so I dont know if you ever made it to him, but the main quest with moon that you keep skipping is the one that gives you the unlocking spell
TIP: with the merlin trials, some dont require spells. Merlins way of saying not everything can be solved with magic. Some just want you to climb all over them 😂 so the one that looks like stone henge, climb on the smallest one and jump from pillar to pillar. You will know it works because once youve stood on it, the pillar gets covered in vines. Only downside is, if you touch the ground, or miss a jump, you have to start all over again!
Dearest Oak! Keep up the fun adventure! Watch all ur guys stuff. Tip tho: Don't forget your basic cast!!! You should be ZAPPING bad guys while your spell cool down. Instead of running around and taking hits! Watching you fight that troll 😂😅😊 Also could stand to save a bit more now that you are REALLY out in the world... unfortunately there ARE a few glitches in the game that can be absolute playthru enders 😅
27:59 oak you’re killing me 😅 how to for the butterfly frame if you’re interested: the butterfly mirror shows a location you need to go to, to find a butterfly that you lumos over to the mirror to complete that challenge. You can revelio to find the butterfly too, it just looks like a little blue fluttering creature in the distance.
PLEASE Oak...grow stuff in your room of requirent to save $ mallowsweet iss easily grown! Potions can be made! I start and end every time I play in the room of requirement (and I go back several times while playing... to check unidentified gear, to harvest plants,aa and to make potions. Merlin trials get you more GEAR SLOTS after so many, not spell sets. Please do caretakers lament soon (like ...yesterday) so you can get alohomora to unlock locks. Buy a large potting table at tomes and scrolls. That last merlin trial you tried...no spell needed. Go at it looking for more height...but not too high. (Trying hard to not just hand you how to solve it, as when I figured it out, it was by accid3nt. Lol)
At 50:00, you missed the last piece of Ancient Magic down in the tomb. There was one more lever to Accio and the piece was behind the door that would've opened. If you collect all three pieces from each of the Ancient Magic Hotspots, you can get up to five Ancient Magic bars. A reminder: Eye Chests are 500 Galleons each and there are 20 of them! When you look at your quests, be sure to see what you get for reward. WARNING!!! POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERTS!!! For the medium and large pots, you need a Spellcraft like the one you got on your first trip to Hogsmeade. Sometimes the Merlin Trials don't require a Spell at all; just climb and jump or mount your broom and touch down on all of the stones. I was glad to hear your closing statement about being stuck. Many, many years ago I got stuck in a game I was really liking but I gave you when I couldn't progress anymore. I've adopted a policy of doing some research online rather than abandoning the game.
Ancient magic = ALWAYS 3 spheres to reach, sometimes hard to see. When you step on the Ancient Magic spot, you will see 3 tendrils going off in the direction of the magic spheres.
Alright, so tips this time around! That bit with the bones at 49:00 caught me up, too. In that room, there are those strange bone pillars in the ground. The game wants you to drag the stacks of bones over to those pillars. I only found out on total accident! Just in case you didn't fully catch on to what happened there. You also asked why it kept auto-casting Wingardium Leviosa. Now that you've unlocked Wingardium Leviosa, it will sometimes auto-cast on certain movable puzzle objects. In the case of these bones, you would have had to cast Levioso+Accio to move them toward you, but now Wingardium Leviosa takes care of it _for you_ in a much more efficient fashion! It'll do the same for boxes and crates, too. This was so useful that I didn't need to assign Wingardium Leviosa for the entire playthrough.
I'm glad he found that spot and figured it out here, though, since the whole using the bones to create stairs, etc, comes up in a pretty important quest later in the game so at least now he knows how to solve it.
You know the block you found after killing to spiders.. you need to bring it to the place with the feather symbol on the grond. The place where you killed another two spiders.
Oak: just to clarify (just starting the video, you might have gotten there on your own in this one), the Merlin trials give you more space in your inventory (which is, obviously, HUGELY needed), not additional spell set stuff. Still super important to do, of course.
Hi Oak, at 2:25:04 it's just a parkour. If you put the mallowseed previously, you don't have to put it again. For larger pot tables and potion stations you need a summon scroll to unlock them, look in the book and scroll shop at the south entrance to Hogsmeade. You have plenty of space in the Room of Requirement to summon as many as you need, you can have many plants growing at the same time. In the Merlin Trials challenges you have not claimed the rewards, a check symbol must appear, you still only have 20 slots.
Oak be sure that you have all of the seeds that you need to be growing in the room. Magic Meep. Yes, I was yelling at you. But, also get the lock picking asap. This gives you access to the houses that have chest that are meant for you to collect. If you can pick up any item, it is meant for you. Letters, and chest, food to interact with.
Loving watching you Oak! A few tips/ queries - 1) "Not the Greenhouses, I hate the Greenhouses" - Why do you hate the Greenhouses? 😂 what did they ever do to you? 2) You've got to sort out your room of requirement. During this episode you accidentally ran into the other massive room. Use that space to set up several more potion/ potting tables so you can always have stuff on the go. Once you unlock bigger pots add those aswell. Remember all the moonstone you're collecting is just for that purpose. Then you can collect plants/potions everytime you come back to identify new gear. Lastly on that; hold your left stick in to empty the pot if you want to plant something new. Once you've potted a mamdrake you're not stuck with it forever 😂 3) Try your best to get used to switching spell sets during fights as you have lots of spells now! There's no poimt having the same spell on multiple spell sets as it will still need to cool down. 4) Use your Glacius spell followed quickly by Diffindo on trolls. You won't be sorry 😂😊 None of this is criticism! Just to accelerated your learning. Look forward to every upload!
Hey Oak! When you’re looking at the Map, you can click on the flags to reveal the floo flames within Hogwarts. You can zoom into the map to see floo flames as well. 😊
Big pots: Go to Tomes & Scrolls (or whatever it’s called, at the bottom left of the Hogsmeade map) and buy the spell craft for big pots. Then Conjure a large potting table in the Room of Requirement and plant. Same for Medium Pots and larger Potions Stations.
Thank goodness I've been replaying past play throughs to get me through my university dissertation 😭 2000 words left, these reactions are the only thing getting me through it ❤.
That voice you were hearing where you killed those spiders is the guy they have wrapped up with spider webs, you can see him squirm around if you watch him. Nice of the devs to not let you rescue him after killing the spiders so you instead leave him laying there helpless until he starves to death. I think the devs are all a bunch of Slytherins and they have players from other houses all doing things like reading other people's mail, stealing from chests in classmate's dorm rooms, stealing from professor offices, shoplifting from the stores, stealing things from backyards, saving magical beasts from poachers by murdering the poachers and capturing beasts then selling them to a store that sells magical beast parts which is likely the same thing the poachers are doing, but I'm sure no magical beasts are harmed in the removal of their parts, and as soon as you learn the Alohomora spell they'll have you breaking into villager's homes and robbing them blind to make all the houses lo9ok as bad as they are. 😁 About that henge Merlin trial, it's been a while since I've played but I believe you need to climb on top of the shortest stone then jump from stone to stone without missing any and falling. Not for sure if I'm remembering it right but I do recall jumping from stone to stone in something like that, just not for sure it was a Merlin trial.
But I know for a fact that you Can rescue poachers cocooned in the spider web. I have not only seen it done in other videos but I did it in my Hogwarts Legacy game. All you have to do is incendio them. The web disappears and the poacher stands up and is freed. Though the poacher is still a jerk afterwards. No appreciation for saving his life. LOL! 🤣 🧍♂️🕸🪄🔥👍
I also hope you start the Caretakers Lament quest soon 😆 Also those candles and the table in the forbidden forest belong to the love letter and the lovers quest! It took me ages to find it and you stumble over it accidentally 😂
Wow, what a smooth flight at the end! Amazing!! Also - LARGE POTS - buy the spellcrafts for them at Tomes and Scrolls. Conjure a bunch of different pots in the Room of Requirement, you can grow multiple plants at the same time. You're doing grand, especially on that flying! :))
YESS! another awesome hogwarts morning from oak! LETS GOO. Much love to you and the rest of the guys ❤ A tip, definitely explore the relationship/side quests because some of them can be just as good if not better then the main quests
My frequent yell is, "Turn all the way around!" I've lost count of how many times he's hit Revelio then only looked at a portion of the surrounding area. "I can't find it!" when the thing he's looking for is right behind him (or above him). 😂😂😂
Nice how you get better and better... what a delight watching you ♡♡♡♡ The merlin trial with the big Stones you need to hop on the stone and then jump from one to another without falling of 😊 When doing the ancient magic you always need to collect 3 "flames" to complete it and improve your ancient magig and get more blue bars to fill. You know you not finished as long you hear the whisper. Also, collect the blue balls when fighting because they refill the ancient magin and they disappear if you dont collect them on time. Loats of loveee°°
My grandpa passed away a few years ago, I used to help him with playing video games he needed help remembering which buttons to press and everything.. I put this video on and remember him 😌🦡💛🖤 thank you for giving me memories 😌
Oak! Love it! Go through all of your challenges. If any of the individual accomplishments are orange, select them with A. You currently have extra clothing slots waiting to be unlocked along with a few other prizes you’ve earned. You cannot purchase individual pots for growing plants. If a plant requires a large pot, you need to purchase a large potting table. If you find yourself running or flying into a wall, try giving the ol’ mini map a look. …squirrel!!!
TIP: With the spider fights. Different spiders have different attacks. Some shoot venom, some run at you. The one that keeps getting you from behind, is actually a burrowing spider, pay attention to the ground, if the dirt is moving under your feet roll away to avoid the spider popping up. Kind of like when you are fighting the statues and the blue circle is under you because they are about to land on your head Same concept but from underneath you Before going into a spiders nest, fire confringo at the egg sacs to get rid of all the little jumpy spiders. If you dont destroy them from a distance with fire, when you get close to them the sacs explode and those little guys come flying at you. 🕸🕷
Love the gameplays Oak! I enjoy watching you do all the side quests and exploring. I have one respectful suggestion, as an audience I think it would be nice to watch you play at least one main story mission per gameplay so we can see more of your play through of those :)
One helpful hint for the map view at Hogwarts....you can rotate the map to better help you see what floo flame makes sense to jump to. There are some that look close to where you want to be but are really floors away
Oak... The 'stonehenge' Merlin puzzel...some thngs need to be seen/stood on from above to activate... Also pay attention to symbols on pieces and match with any others either on the ground or if you need to stack... Do attempt side quests.. they'll have valuable worth as you go forward... You can conjure as many potting or growing stations as you have moonstones for...you can use the new addition in the Room of Requirement if you like..its bigger than the first room... Keep up the grind 😁... 🌿🌿🌿
Another important tip for Spell Sets: You keep adding the same spells multiple times to random places on your spell sets. That not necessarily is a good idea. You can add one spell multiple times if you want to have certain combinations available in different spell sets, but two identical spells directly next to each other does not make sense as you cant use the spell twice as much in that case... it still needs the same time to re-load. A good strategy is to decide on a button for all the yellow spells, a button for the blue and one for the red ones... the 4th is either for red again, utility like disillusionment, or green (if you decide to use the unforgivable curses). Decide how you want to color-map the buttons and then keep those spots in all spell sets consistent. That way, you are making sure that you can break colored shields (or those charging bubbles by the guards) at any time with any spellset, no matter the color. You see yellow, your finger automatically goes to the button you have your yellow spells on... and so on... So for example, the following would be a great setup for a spell-based combat style: In this example: Yellow on Y, Blue on X, Red on B, Red/Green on A Spellset 1: Levioso on Y, Accio on X, Incendio on B and Confringo on A Spellset 2: Glacius on Y, Depulso on X, Diffindo on B, Imperio on A Spellset 3: Arresto Momentum on Y, Descendo on X, Bombarda on B, Imperio on A Spellset 4: Transformation on Y, Flipendo on X, Expelliarmus on B, Avada Kedavra on A Every effective combat spell is there, color-mapped to a consistent button, and there are great combinations possible within spellsets. for example: Levioso, Accio, Incendio Glacius, Diffindo Arresto Momentum, Descendo If you don't want to use the unforgivable curses or you haven't learned all of them yet, it is legit to map a spell for a second time to a different spell set.
I really recommend looking into what all of the symbols on the map mean. When you're short on funds, casting revelio while flying will show you spots with treasure.
Hey Oak! Glad you liked the Menu scrolling tip. Here's you next one. You're jumping into battles with Bandit Camps spread around the map, and that's great. What you are failing to notice is the giant freaking lootable caves they are set there to guard in the first place, which you are standing only feet from. These caves are marked on your map by icons that look like an arch.
Hey Oak, I already made this comment on your previous video but i’m not sure if you’ve read it, so i’ll post it again. I have some good advise for you in regards to the plants you’ll want to grow in the Room of Requirement: You’ll notice when you want to pot another plant that there are 3 different sizes for them, you got small plants, medium plants & big plants. - mandrake, dittany, mallowsweet & knotgrass are small - shrivelfig & chinese chomping cabbage are medium - fluxweed & venomous tentacula are big In order to have all of these plants available for you in the Room of Requirement you’ll first want to buy the correct seeds in Hogsmeade ofcourse, but you also need to visit Tomes and Scrolls there to buy the spellcrafts for medium and big potting tables, otherwise you can’t grow medium or big plants. The game automatically lets you buy the small potting table when you visit Hogsmeade for the first time so you still need to buy the other sizes on your own. (I noticed in this video you already figured out the different plant sizes, but all you need to do now is visit Tomes and Scrolls to buy some spellcrafts for the medium and big potting tables, you’re definitely gonna need them if you want to progress so try to sell things when you can and save up some money because it won’t be cheap)
After this series I’ve got so many games I want Oak to experience. I’d love to see him do pretty much any RPG, it’s great how he gets so absorbed into the world.
Oak: I'm broke yo! 😞 Me: Yeah, sucks to not be Harry Potter. Taking out Poacher Camps will help you get some funds. A lot of these beginning quests require money. The professor class quests are a bit annoying but they are meant to get players to explore a bit more.
Hey Oak you have met the person who will give you the lock breaking spell..its in your quest list.. you can buy mallosweet seeds and grow them, like all of the plants ..just conjour lots of potting tables in the room of requirement , you only have one.. the pots are in the tables you can have 7 if you want, you have heaps of moonstone for conjouring.. and lots of space ..you will need a spell craft for bigger pots for larger plants though from tomes and scrolls..
Loving the series as always! Hope you’re still enjoying yourself as much as you were when you started :) If you need some extra money, try exploring hogsmeade looking for the chests with an eye. Although you’ve already got a couple, there’s 15 in total in hogsmeade alone and they give you 500 galleons everytime, so that quickly adds up! Also for combat, I’m definitely no expert but there’s a few tips I’ve picked up: Basic casts are best used in sets of 4, as the 4th cast deals a lot more damage than the first 3. Utilise the ancient magic throw, using RB when instructed for throwing barrels etc as that also does a lot of damage and breaks through any coloured shield. It’s also possibly a good idea to find the combos you like best so you can keep at least your first main spell set the same until you find a new favourite so you don’t have to keep checking which is which during battles after swapping in the new ones. With three spell sets (but I’d agree with others to get the last one when you can), possibly keep the first two for combat, and the third for utilities: lumos, reparo, wingardium leviosa, disillusionment. Then for the first two, decide what combos you’d like best but keep in mind it’s good to have at least one of each colour. For now, I’d suggest maybe: First set: Accio, Incendio (combo), Glacius, Diffindo(combo) Second set: Levioso, Descendo (combo), then whatever you’d like for the last two, maybe confringo, expelliarmus etc depending on who you’re fighting. Anyway, that might just be a load of waffle but thank you for bringing us these so regularly, they’re a joy to watch and so peaceful especially when you’re just exploring :)
It’s definitely time to start getting more spell slots so you can have some that are specifically just for fighting and other ones for regular use/utility
The amount of times I have yelled "read all the information!!" is insane😂. Oak being frustrated as to where to get bigger potting tables when, if he had read all the info in the RoR when he tried to conjure the tables, he would have noticed it said in which store he could get those medium and large potting tables and would have saved him so much trouble😅
This made my day! Take a little time and explore Hogsmeade and in the castle, you’ll find more eye chests. Since you learned wingardium leviosa casting accio will automatically do it now.
Make sure you clear out the ancient magic hotspots. You only collected two out of three swirls. You are supposed to collect three on each spot to clear it out. Those are super good, since they will give you way more ancient magic (I believe you can get up to four or five bars of it). Regarding the pot thing, this is why it's important to try to pay attention to what the different stores in Hogsmeade sell you (the first trip to Hogsmeade was supposed to be an intro to this). Since you are conjuring stuff in the ROR, you need to buy spellcrafts at Tomes and Scrolls for the given object you want to conjure. In this case, you need to buy the spellcraft for a large potting table. Regarding the map mission, the bridge is the one by the entrance to the forbidden forest from Hogwarts where you found the love letter (this is a part of the quest). You will find floating candles there, at least when it's nighttime. Just follow them where they lead and you'll be able to complete the quest.
As towards the merlin trial where you had the stones that look like Stonehenge here in the UK try standing on one of them and see what happens, not all Merlin trials require magic.
🕷When fighting spiders you have to pay attention to the ground. The spiders will burrow underground and pop up underneath you. You can tell when they are coming under you when you see the dirt on the ground start to fly upward in a circular shape. It's just like the stone suits of armor during a Keeper's Trial when they jump on top of you and you get a warning with the circular light on the ground. But with the spiders it's a circular flying dirt on the ground.🕷
General feedback, Oak. First, you are adapting VERY well. If you have the same spell (Flippindo, for instance) duplicated in the same spell set or also in another spell set, you are wasting a slot. When you use it, each one has to recharge. Use whatever works for you, but consider keeping your spell sets set up the same: Red spell on left and bottom, yellow on top, and blue on right. You are getting comfortable with swapping between sets... now, you instinctively know your Red attacks are in the same position for each set. Also, start experimenting with your attack combos - I saw you get great success from pulling someone in and hitting them with a flame. I'm having fun... keep it up.
➡️ Appleton, honey..... I know I already said this before on this video. But I HAVE to say it again. You can ADD MORE POTTING TABLES in your Room of Requirement. I am so sorry how I am saying it. But it is important you understand it. Your Room of Requirement is your greenhouse and potions room. You are expected to Grow Many PlantS there. So you need more than one potting table. You can even get potting tables that have multiple pots on them from Tomes and Scrolls. So your Room of Requirement is supposed to look like your classes. Think about it. I know it's true because I also play Hogwarts Legacy. My Room of Requirement is full of many different plants. I so far added two 3 pot potting tables, three large potting tables (which I might get rid of two and replace with a 2 pot in one potting table) and I have two medium potting tables (which I might get rid of as well and replace with a 2 or 3 pot in one potting table). I also have two Hopping Pots, one Chopping Table, two Fertilizer producers and a 3 hub Potions Table. And I have all of that in just one of the rooms. The other room I use for something else. Oh yeah, YES, your plants grow again like real life plants do in the real world. The grass doesn't stop growing just because you mowed the lawn once. And an apple tree doesn't stop growing more apples just because you picked one fruit. LOL! 😉 🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴👍 BTW, I don't say this enough and I should but THANK YOU for making these videos. We might yell at the screen sometimes but we are loving watching you play. You are awesome. THANKS! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❣️❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
So probably already seen and commented but to het the large pots etc you have to go to tomes and scrolls, you can buy those there I do love side quests don't get me wrong, but you do need to look at your mains as well, because as you fight/discover and do sides you will become stronger and out level the main quest line. Still the quests like ghost of our love or follow the butterflies will remain, but do some main missions also to be able to do more and have more abbilities. You still have a long way to go so don't worry about progressing too fast😂
I will not stop telling this till you unlock 3rd spell set😅 Use 2 fighting sets and do not change them with unnecessary lumous spell (lumous goes in 3rd set) Don't adjust same spell in both sets, adjust red yellow and purple in both sets to deal with shields (when one set in cool down switch to other set) Same colors on same buttons for both sets and your muscle memory will doo the work, just remember to switch sets... Hope you have great time 😃
Tip for you Oak: the house just left of the Magic Neep shop should have an eye chest outside for 500g to get your Mallowsweet seeds. 😅 When you think youre stuck somewhere, cast Revelio. It would have revealed the extra button to interact with in that hole, and made a ghost image of the bone staircase to hint how to get out too.
Great playthrough, Oak! I will say that you should see if you can find any more of the eye chests in Hogwarts and Hogsmeade; remember, they each have 500 coins in them. I'll give you the location of two in Hogwarts and two in Hogsmeade; the rest you should try to find on your own 😜 In the bathroom across from Professor Fig's classroom, there's one, and there's one down in the Restricted Section in the Library. In Hogsmeade, there's one up behind Dogweed and Deathcap (which I didn't even know about until I did my second playthrough lol) and there's one inside the Tomes and Scrolls shop, in Thomas' bedroom behind the register
Whoever told you "blue objects mean you can use spells on them" did you dirty. It means you can interact with those objects... in many different ways. Physically as well as magically. Sometimes a quest requires dexterity rather than strength!
Tip: Tomes and Scrolls sell blueprints. I struggled to figure that one out at first, too. You need a blueprint to conjure potting tables to grow your plants in. Also, don't destroy your plants, they are meant to continuously grow. If you need a new pot to grow something else, just conjure a new pot.
You don't need to worry about exploring the locations on the edges of your map. A few quests will require you to go to these locations to complete tasks, you can explore those areas during the quest.
little tip for the spell sets - I always have one blue, yellow, purple and red in each set (and different ones) this way you'll have everything handy. I always have the same colour spells on the same side (yellow right, red bottom for example). So it becomes easy to remember + switching spellsets then will not confuse you too much Also, try to use your disillusionment charm more to surprise enemies with petrificus totalus
Hey Oak I hope you see this. Some advice from what helped me, you should ALWAYS have at least one of each color on your combat spell sets or dedicate a slot to a color and dedicate one spell set to your non-combat spells for better organization. I’m loving these playthroughs keep it up!!
I like the one of each colour and combo organization myself e.g. accio, incendio, lumos and I can't recall the yellow offhand. So on that set I can pull them in, hit them with incendio then I switch to another set and depulso them away from me.
Its amusing to me how Oak alsways stops and fights anything red that pops up on the map 😂 u dont have to always stop right then and there. U can finish the quest ur on too 😂😂 but at least u get more practice fighting 😂😂
If you’re looking for money, you’re gonna want to increase the scope of your Revelio in your talent points! It will show you items further afield in-game and so you can find more chests and money bags without having to run around as much physically searching for them!
Hi Oak! I think a lot of the struggle is from doing things out of order. I recommend doing some of the main quests at least. I know that it’s frustrating to not unlock the beasts trapped by the poachers, that does come from a quest. Once you get started on the trials, it’ll get easier! Also, accio turns into leviosa once you use it. That’s why the bones started floating!
In your room of requirement you're going to want to put down many different potting stations, that way you can have all types of plants ready for harvest when you come back. to get bigger pots you have to back to hogsmeade and visit Tomes and Scrolls. then you can set down tables of small medium or large sizes with multiple pots per table as well. This is also where the Moonstone comes in as the main ingredient for conjuring your decorations in the room of Requirement. I have to admit, I was smacking my forehead and yelling at the screen for this one, that started when you were one door away from leaving the greenhouses when you were lost. p.s. for the Merlin trial at around the 2:20:00 mark, one word....Parkour!!!
Getting lost inside the castle is my favourite part of the game, it's such a staple moment of the gameplay. Who doesn't get lost, it's like they never played! Congrats!!! :D
Hey oak, noticed you play during night time a lot. If you get bored of the night time you can wait until morning by pressing the right stick down in the map menu. Night seems to last a while in this game
Moonstone is used to conjure (make) the things in the room of requirement. When you get there you can see all the things you can conjure with the monstone you will see an item, and a number of moonstone it takes to make it and then you can see how much you have. Right now you can make a lot of things. Mallowsweet can be GROWN in the RoR.
SET UP ROOM OF REQUIREMENT. You need to utilize your space by setting up as many stations as possible. This way you don’t need to empty a pot to grow something else. You will also be able to collect more potions and plants at once, instead of waiting for one thing to grow at a time.
Oak: "I'm surprised I haven't met the person I need to learn how to pick locks"
Me: "You've had the quest to learn how to pick locks for 3 episodes now, it's just sitting there in your quest log"
Oak: "Drop a comment in you were yelling at your screen about mallowsweet leaves..."
Me: "No, not yelling, long past yelling LOL. Now I just shake my head and chuckle"
I would love to see oak complete this then react to other players starting out lol.
I feel like Oak is gonna be so frustrated by the demiguise statues
@@carb5074he needs it though. Lots of his struggles would vanish if he took more time to explore the castle and Hogsmeade.
He isn't doing the quests...he is mostly wandering around
Its surprising how many streamers I've seen bemoaning the inability to pick locks while ignoring the quest to pick locks. One spent several minutes trying to interact with the first demiguise statue while ignoring the quest giver standing right next to it.
Love watching Oak kick himself for picking up that love letter without realizing it's part of the exact quest he was looking to start at the beginning of this part.
And that the "lovers" are equally dead headless Richard Jackdaw and accidentally self-poisoning and very bad human being Apollonia Black
Wholesome moment alert: Oak, in the middle of talking about something else, spots an owl, STOPS EVERYTHING, and gasps and tries frantically to find it. Oak, you big ol' softy.
Loved this. One of the many things that makes Oak so unique and enjoyable to watch.
To get bigger pots you need a spellcraft from Tomes and Scrolls. It would also be good to get into Gladwin Moons quest soon, it’ll give you Level 1 Alohomora to open locks, so you can go into houses and get some more money.
Yes, break into people's homes and rob them like a good little Gryffindor.
A few tips:
1: I noticed in a few episodes that when looking for something, like the exit to the greenhouses, you don't look around 360°, above and below you (the door was literally right next to you but didn't looked that way).
26:24 "You can't enter while mounted." " That's not what I heard." Made me me spit out my drink! God love Oak ! 😂😂
Same. Lol. 😂
"No don't take it bro put it back, nice move Oak you just stole someone's love letter". Oak is peak entertainment
lol. Poor Oak. I feel like every episode I’m screaming “pick an easier quest” I do admit he is getting so much better with his fighting.
Or touch it with your broom in order while you flying 😉
@prboi1985 yeah that's what I end up doing once I fall a couple of time and get pissy about it 😅
I got that by accident because in other games I always climb things so I automatically climbed those stones and completed the trial lol
On the ancient magic quest, as long as you are hearing the whispers there are more to get.
Yes! There’s usually always 3(:
@@allisonparks8333 It was sad seeing him walk away with one left to collect.
Go to Beasts Class Oak! 😂
Yes !!! Definitely
Exactly! I can't wait for him to meet Poppy and go on her quests!!❤
27:59 oak you’re killing me 😅 how to for the butterfly frame if you’re interested:
the butterfly mirror shows a location you need to go to, to find a butterfly that you lumos over to the mirror to complete that challenge. You can revelio to find the butterfly too, it just looks like a little blue fluttering creature in the distance.
the butterfly is also just somewhere very near
Also this is a really important game mechanic for other, bigger tasks, guiding the moths (think they are moths) from one place to another with Lumos.
Happy Gilmore
Remember that you can change from night to day in the map. I like to explore in day time, easier to see
You know the block you found after killing to spiders.. you need to bring it to the place with the feather symbol on the grond.
A few tips/ queries -
1) "Not the Greenhouses, I hate the Greenhouses" - Why do you hate the Greenhouses? 😂 what did they ever do to you?
2) You've got to sort out your room of requirement. During this episode you accidentally ran into the other massive room. Use that space to set up several more potion/ potting tables so you can always have stuff on the go. Once you unlock bigger pots add those aswell. Remember all the moonstone you're collecting is just for that purpose. Then you can collect plants/potions everytime you come back to identify new gear. Lastly on that; hold your left stick in to empty the pot if you want to plant something new. Once you've potted a mamdrake you're not stuck with it forever 😂
3) Try your best to get used to switching spell sets during fights as you have lots of spells now! There's no poimt having the same spell on multiple spell sets as it will still need to cool down.
4) Use your Glacius spell followed quickly by Diffindo on trolls. You won't be sorry 😂😊
None of this is criticism! Just to accelerated your learning. Look forward to every upload!
I died laughing when you tried to enter Hogsmeade while on your broom. "Cant enter while mounted? That's not what I heard" 😂
Hey Oak! When you’re looking at the Map, you can click on the flags to reveal the floo flames within Hogwarts. You can zoom into the map to see floo flames as well. 😊
Big pots:
Go to Tomes & Scrolls (or whatever it’s called, at the bottom left of the Hogsmeade map) and buy the spell craft for big pots.
Good luck on the last 2000 words, you’ve got this!
Stay strong!
Good luck on your dissertation!
2:10:42 you can buy large and medium potting tables from Tomes and Scrolls
Hey Oak you might want to invest on the swift core talent. This allows you to vanish quickly and reappear nearby.
Agree it's awesome makes Troll much easier to deal with..he needs more spell sets as well
That voice you were hearing where you killed those spiders is the guy they have wrapped up with spider webs, you can see him squirm around if you watch him. 😁
About that henge Merlin trial, it's been a while since I've played but I believe you need to climb on top of the shortest stone then jump from stone to stone without missing any and falling.
LOL! 🤣
🧍♂️🕸🪄🔥👍
I also hope you start the Caretakers Lament quest soon 😆
Also those candles and the table in the forbidden forest belong to the love letter and the lovers quest! It took me ages to find it and you stumble over it accidentally 😂
Anyone laughing at Oak missing pages right beside him.😂😂😂😂 go to class oak 😂😂😂
Wow, what a smooth flight at the end! Amazing!! Also - LARGE POTS - buy the spellcrafts for them at Tomes and Scrolls. Conjure a bunch of different pots in the Room of Requirement, you can grow multiple plants at the same time. You're doing grand, especially on that flying! :))
This will be super helpful!
YESS! another awesome hogwarts morning from oak! LETS GOO. Much love to you and the rest of the guys ❤ A tip, definitely explore the relationship/side quests because some of them can be just as good if not better then the main quests
The amount of times I yelled “revelio again!!!! Just Revelio again, for the love of God” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My frequent yell is, "Turn all the way around!" I've lost count of how many times he's hit Revelio then only looked at a portion of the surrounding area. "I can't find it!" when the thing he's looking for is right behind him (or above him). 😂😂😂
@@ThePointlessmuch THIS!!! Hahaha you’re so right!
Nice how you get better and better... what a delight watching you ♡♡♡♡
The merlin trial with the big Stones you need to hop on the stone and then jump from one to another without falling of 😊
When doing the ancient magic you always need to collect 3 "flames" to complete it and improve your ancient magig and get more blue bars to fill. You know you not finished as long you hear the whisper. Also, collect the blue balls when fighting because they refill the ancient magin and they disappear if you dont collect them on time.
Loats of loveee°°
Keep doing these videos! They are often the highlight of my day!
My grandpa passed away a few years ago, I used to help him with playing video games he needed help remembering which buttons to press and everything.. I put this video on and remember him 😌🦡💛🖤 thank you for giving me memories 😌
This is the best comment I’ve seen so far in 10 episodes. Thank you for sharing this story with me. -Oak
@@davidbaye3758 🦡💛🖤 your episodes are fun to watch
Oak!
Kind of like when you are fighting the statues and the blue circle is under you because they are about to land on your head
Same concept but from underneath you
Before going into a spiders nest, fire confringo at the egg sacs to get rid of all the little jumpy spiders. If you dont destroy them from a distance with fire, when you get close to them the sacs explode and those little guys come flying at you. 🕸🕷
This is excellent advice!
Love the gameplays Oak! I enjoy watching you do all the side quests and exploring. I have one respectful suggestion, as an audience I think it would be nice to watch you play at least one main story mission per gameplay so we can see more of your play through of those :)
Yes wingardium leviosa is a subset of acio. While things are floating you can manipulate them to be placed in specific spots.
One helpful hint for the map view at Hogwarts....you can rotate the map to better help you see what floo flame makes sense to jump to.
There are some that look close to where you want to be but are really floors away
Always have at least one red, ome yellow and one purple spell in each set so you can always break any shield
And try to place them in the same spot (like use X for red spells, O for yellow spells, etc.) So you can don't get tripped up by the cool down time.
🌿🌿🌿
Another important tip for Spell Sets:
You keep adding the same spells multiple times to random places on your spell sets.
So for example, the following would be a great setup for a spell-based combat style:
In this example: Yellow on Y, Blue on X, Red on B, Red/Green on A
Spellset 1: Levioso on Y, Accio on X, Incendio on B and Confringo on A
Spellset 2: Glacius on Y, Depulso on X, Diffindo on B, Imperio on A
Spellset 3: Arresto Momentum on Y, Descendo on X, Bombarda on B, Imperio on A
Spellset 4: Transformation on Y, Flipendo on X, Expelliarmus on B, Avada Kedavra on A
Every effective combat spell is there, color-mapped to a consistent button, and there are great combinations possible within spellsets. for example:
Levioso, Accio, Incendio
Glacius, Diffindo
Arresto Momentum, Descendo
If you don't want to use the unforgivable curses or you haven't learned all of them yet, it is legit to map a spell for a second time to a different spell set.
sorry, I listed Imperio twice :P One of those of course should be Crucio haha :D
I really recommend looking into what all of the symbols on the map mean. When you're short on funds, casting revelio while flying will show you spots with treasure.
"Oh nice move Oak, you just stole somebody's Love Letter" was so funny! 💌😂
I have some good advise for you in regards to the plants you’ll want to grow in the Room of Requirement:
You’ll notice when you want to pot another plant that there are 3 different sizes for them, you got small plants, medium plants & big plants.
- mandrake, dittany, mallowsweet & knotgrass are small
- shrivelfig & chinese chomping cabbage are medium
- fluxweed & venomous tentacula are big
In order to have all of these plants available for you in the Room of Requirement you’ll first want to buy the correct seeds in Hogsmeade ofcourse, but you also need to visit Tomes and Scrolls there to buy the spellcrafts for medium and big potting tables, otherwise you can’t grow medium or big plants.
I want to see him catch them all.😂😂😂
I think setting up a livestream would be so helpful because there are lots of things we could help you with in the moment!(:
Oak: I'm broke yo! 😞
Me: Yeah, sucks to not be Harry Potter.
The Merlin trials increase your gear inventory and u get XP Happy Gilmore come on down lol u climb on them
Loving the series as always! Hope you’re still enjoying yourself as much as you were when you started :)
If you need some extra money, try exploring hogsmeade looking for the chests with an eye. Although you’ve already got a couple, there’s 15 in total in hogsmeade alone and they give you 500 galleons everytime, so that quickly adds up!
Also for combat, I’m definitely no expert but there’s a few tips I’ve picked up:
Basic casts are best used in sets of 4, as the 4th cast deals a lot more damage than the first 3.
For now, I’d suggest maybe:
First set: Accio, Incendio (combo), Glacius, Diffindo(combo)
Second set: Levioso, Descendo (combo), then whatever you’d like for the last two, maybe confringo, expelliarmus etc depending on who you’re fighting.
Anyway, that might just be a load of waffle but thank you for bringing us these so regularly, they’re a joy to watch and so peaceful especially when you’re just exploring :)
tomes and scrolls is the shop you need i believe, for the pots
It’s definitely time to start getting more spell slots so you can have some that are specifically just for fighting and other ones for regular use/utility
A bigger pot is a large potting table😂 so head to tombs and scrolls and you’ll be able to get the right size (:
The amount of times I have yelled "read all the information!!" is insane😂. Oak being frustrated as to where to get bigger potting tables when, if he had read all the info in the RoR when he tried to conjure the tables, he would have noticed it said in which store he could get those medium and large potting tables and would have saved him so much trouble😅
Same with all the glittering Field Guide Pages, ready to be picked up, and he doesn’t see them 😂
@@melanie3958yes! He literally ended this part right beside one, I hope he sees it when he starts playing again 😂
1:53:50 about the ancient magic thing. you didnt collect the chest there, you know you have finished one if it shows a checkmark on it.
Yup!!! I would definitely go back(:
Oak: „Someone said I should get these guys“ - and first thing shoots the fireflies 😂
The Merlin trial at 2:24:00 You have to simply climb onto the lowest pillar and jump from one end to the other. Parkour! No spells required.
You finished a pop ballon challenge and a Merlin trial challenge. Pick up you rewards. Also two at the quests
LOL! 😉
🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴👍
BTW, I don't say this enough and I should but THANK YOU for making these videos. We might yell at the screen sometimes but we are loving watching you play. You are awesome. THANKS!
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❣️❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
That was impressive flying!
So probably already seen and commented but to het the large pots etc you have to go to tomes and scrolls, you can buy those there
I do love side quests don't get me wrong, but you do need to look at your mains as well, because as you fight/discover and do sides you will become stronger and out level the main quest line.
Still the quests like ghost of our love or follow the butterflies will remain, but do some main missions also to be able to do more and have more abbilities.
You still have a long way to go so don't worry about progressing too fast😂
I will not stop telling this till you unlock 3rd spell set😅
Use 2 fighting sets and do not change them with unnecessary lumous spell (lumous goes in 3rd set)
Don't adjust same spell in both sets, adjust red yellow and purple in both sets to deal with shields (when one set in cool down switch to other set)
Same colors on same buttons for both sets and your muscle memory will doo the work, just remember to switch sets...
Hope you have great time 😃
Tip for you Oak: the house just left of the Magic Neep shop should have an eye chest outside for 500g to get your Mallowsweet seeds. 😅
When you think youre stuck somewhere, cast Revelio.
So it becomes easy to remember + switching spellsets then will not confuse you too much
Also, try to use your disillusionment charm more to surprise enemies with petrificus totalus
Hey Oak I hope you see this. Some advice from what helped me, you should ALWAYS have at least one of each color on your combat spell sets or dedicate a slot to a color and
dedicate one spell set to your non-combat spells for better organization. I’m loving these playthroughs keep it up!!
I like the one of each colour and combo organization myself e.g. accio, incendio, lumos and I can't recall the yellow offhand. So on that set I can pull them in, hit them with incendio then I switch to another set and depulso them away from me.
The best ways to get money are the eye chests and the vaults around the map with gear chests (for gear to sell); look for the little tunnel icons.
The ppl nit picking on everything Oak does wrong let him learn! Oak you're doing good so keep it up
100%
Except for that first table from the welcome to Hogsmeade quest I used only large tables since you can grow any size of plant in them.
You didn't finish the ancient magic challenge my dude 😂😂😂😂 51:00
*Oak gets frustrated* "Let's go ki!! some bad guys".....😆
2:12:10 Hahaha good one, from "Happy Gilmore" :) Love that movie
Anyone else wondering why Oak is wondering why he has no money.😂😂😂
Getting lost inside the castle is my favourite part of the game, it's such a staple moment of the gameplay. Who doesn't get lost, it's like they never played! Congrats!!! :D
Hey oak, noticed you play during night time a lot. If you get bored of the night time you can wait until morning by pressing the right stick down in the map menu. Night seems to last a while in this game
I love how much better Oak has gotten at combat over these episodes!
For the ghost picnic quest you need to go to the bridge where you found the love letter and you need to go there at night and cast lumos.
