Eggman was just spamming everything he had left to save himself and get away with the Emerald, he also may also not know if Sonic’s power runs out anytime soon or not. Shit would be scary af. Edit: Actually wait i don’t think Hyper Sonic is confirmed at the speed of light, but a source online said they’re pretty sure he’s at light speed, which is what i’d assume is his max speed, or close to it.
Yes but it was also scary for sonic knowing that he had a few minutes only and at any moment he can just die also the entire universe depended on sonic to stop eggman from ruling the universe and to restore peace to angle islands because the master emerald ain't no joke it carries so much power and if it goes in the wrong hand chaos all over the world would emerge that's why it's called chaos emeralds
