I love this song. It’s not about a boring relationship. It’s about a couple that don’t have much but they have each other. Beautiful song. I love your honesty. Most reactors (especially the couples) seem to love every song they listen to and over react how great the song is.
This was a hit in the summer of 1977 and is definitely NOT a song about boredom. He is writing about the everyday ordinary pleasures of being in a healthy relationship.
Truer words never spoken. "What we are is what we are, and I'll tell you sweetheart that's just enuf for me" EVERY man feels that way for his woman!!!!!!!
As the proud owner of this vinyl called "Whiskey and Lace", I must say this song gets hardly a second look when one mentions Alice and all his hits. This song is truly a gem and next to HEY STOOPID , is one of my favorites. Although those two are a generation apart, I'll refine it and say "of his classic hits...." ELECTED and this one are my favorites. Thanks for listening.
i love it lace and whiskey its my favorite album. Heey stoopid and welcome to my nightmare. But lace and whiskey helped me get over my depression so it will always be my favorite
1977.... Donna Summer I Feel Love...Brian Eno ran into the Berlin Studio where he and David Bowie were recording, waving a copy of the song in his hand saying "Look No Further, This is It", I have heard the future. A transformative pop song, ignited the world. Every time anyone is looking for songs from the year 1977, this should be on the list.
Okay, I'm weird, but always liked it. Even remembered the words. Thanks for playing it for those who do. Suggestions ? Ballad" "Only Women Bleed", Rockier: "No More Mr Nice Guy" or "Schools Out", Heavy Rock is a whole rabbit hole it's own
For such a wild and crazy rocker he had a string of soft pop hits. This one was his most blatantly commercial. I still like it though because it brings back such fond memories of my childhood in 1977 when life seemed like it was utopia to me.
Hi Angela. I understand your reaction. Times are different then and now. I met my wife in 1980. I was 15, she was 14. This was and still is our song 44 Years later. At that time and at that age all we cared about was being with one another. I'd knew I'd go to work to provide for us and all I ever would need is her with me. It's okay you didn't like it. It's a piece that resonates in a different time than today. If only everyone could find someone they were satisfied with just being with them. After all, everything else is just Fluff.
I met a girl at Myrtle Beach SC that summer, my God she was beautiful. I rode her around in my car with this song playing ever 4th track on on 8 track tape player until we pulled over and kissed like I've never kissed a girl before or since. That was so many year ago I can't remember, but I'll always remember her sweet kisses that summer nite.
Even though this song cracked the top 10, it isn't one that I think holds up well. I think a much better Alice Cooper ballad is "I Never Cry" from his "Alice Cooper Goes To Hell" album. It fell just short of the top 10, but I think you'll like it more.
Alice Cooper- "How you gonna see me now".... I belive its about when he returned to his wife following a stint at rehab. I find it very moving, knowing that. See what you think A. 🙂 cheers.
I appreciate your honest reaction, it's refreshing. I'd rather you say that you don't like it than fake it. I personally love Alice Cooper. I have all of his albums, seen him live 4X's. This was a terrible song for you to react to. He has so many great songs. This wasn't something that should have been recommended.
Big ups to your honesty - that's what a great reaction upload is all about - honesty, not pandering saying you like every song to get subs. It was quite amusing watching your reaction, and it was obvious - it did nothing for you.Alice Cooper in the early to mid 70s was his best period, and some of his ballads were awesome - unfortunately although "You And Me" was alright,it didnt light the sky on fire. But as others have mentioned "Only Women Bleed" would be his best ballad, but it's his big glam rock stompers like "Schools Out","Billion Dollar Babies","Hello Hurray" and my fave "Teenage Lament '74" that are the real deal to possibly consider.
I don't care for this much either and I'm a HUGE AC fan. This song came out in the middle of the disco craze in the late 70's and was intended to be a radio hit. And it was. Alice had a string of hits with soft rock ballads in the 70's starting with Only Women Bleed which is hands down the best of the bunch but hard rock just wasn't getting any air time then. It was either disco or soft rock that was getting to the top 40. And in those days radio air time was everything. There was no internet so if you weren't on the radio you weren't making a living.
The only song I like by this dude is Schools Out! I'm still requesting Lost In Music by Sister Sledge! Featuring the beautiful Joni Sledge! This Alice song reminds me of the song Beth by the band KISS! Think about the analogy and comparison!
I can tell when Angela doesn’t like a song. It’s just the look she gets on her face. But that’s okay. Nobody’s going to like every song. I’d rather have an honest opinion than watch someone who gushes over all the songs they review. Honestly is always the best policy. That said, I think this is one of Alice’s weaker songs. It’s okay, but he’s done much better. Billion Dollar Babies, I’m Eighteen, Schools Out, No More Mr Nice Guy, I Wanna Be Elected. So much good stuff to choose from. And the guy’s still rocking to this day. He put out an album about a year ago. So yeah, plenty to choose from.
i can't stand it when reactors are Amazed by every song, even ones that are crap. I don't think you really got the the same thing from the song as I did...I think what Alice was saying was all a working man needs is the women he loves some popcorn and the TV although taking her to heaven would make his day. Pretty romantic... This is not the type of music that took Alice to the top, He's great!
Saw him in concert back in 2014 it was great. MY cousin that came home from the Viet Nam war turned me onto ALice Cooper with the Welcome to my Nightmare Album.
Hey, it’s fine that you didn’t like this song. I wss a huge Alice fan earlier in life (I’m 62 now) and I didn’t care for this one either. I have seen Alive live 15-16 times, going back to 1978. I was in college and did not have the money for a ticket or gas money for the 150 mile round trip. So, even though it was only mid-term, I sold my text books back to the book store on a Thursday, giving me more than I needed. Went to the concert that night and played backgammon for money all weekend. I won enough money to buy my own books back on Monday. I had to pay 3 times what I sold them for but never missed a class or an assignment! :) Alice is an acquired taste. I think of his music and especially live performances as adult Halloween. Although he appears to be the bad guy in many of his songs, usually the joke is on him, making him the victim of the stories he tells. Not always but often. “School’s Out” and “I’m 18” are good places to start IMO. When he tours, he always has a top notch kick ass band.
Some of my favorite Alice Cooper songs...Hello Hooray, Elected, Welcome to My Nightmare, Black Widow, He's Back The Man Behind the Mask, Crazy Little Child, Might as well be on Mars.
Went to see him live along with 4 of my friends. They all swore it was the greatest performance they had ever seen. Guess I was different. He had a few songs I liked, but most were not.
That's the problem with today when is enough, enough. Too many selfish people are looking for that upgrade, that fantasyland, no matter the cost. We've lost touch with what's important. Too many people want to become a movie star. 'You and me ain't no movie stars, what we are is what we are. We share a bed, some loving and TV. That's enough for a working man. What I am well that's what I am, now I tell you babe you're just enough for me'.
I love it and it's not about what you said. It's actually the opposite. He feels the passion even when they aren't doing much. He feels complete doing little because he's got her. He's been married to the same woman for many decades. Sinatra used to perform it. You might have to hear it more often and I'm sure it'll grow on you. He has many, many songs that are so good and most are mellow, not what most people expect. How You Gonna See Me Now he wrote when he was at rehab and about to head home. He realized his wife had never known him as a sober person and he was terrified she wouldn't like him. How you going to see me now.... ruclips.net/video/X7jYw4VZC0c/видео.html Two more famous slow songs are Only Women Bleed which is about abuse, and I Never Cry.
I didn’t get the feeling he was singing about being in a rut. I was thinking it was a love song about him and his lover and how they are so comfortable and happy with their lives.
I feel you missed the point of the song. It's not about the passion leaving the relationship. More that they are normal people, that they don't need to be 'super stars' they can just be themselves... There is also a line about I'd like to hold you, squeeze you until the passion starts to rise. I didn't get a stale relationship at all. Quite the opposite.
I never cared for this song. I'd even change the radio station to listen to something else. But we can't like everything, right? That's why there are so many different types of music, and so many types of vocals. There's something for everyone if you look for it.
This is an extremely mellow song from the SHOCK rocker, and I can understand why you think it's a dud. I like it...but it's not the standard fare from the Coop...it's a b-side or maybe not even, as far as I know. Saw him 1 time when I was a kid... Top 5 concerts on my list!
If you are a sucker for a nice love song I suggest Donny Hathaway "a song for you." I had.to put garlic and a cross down after listening to that Alice Cooper song.
F the video and LISTEN to the song, not watch it. But i give a thumbs up for your honesty and hard to say it 🧡 That this song isn't more known is a mystery, been TOTAL Coopernerd since i was 7-8 but -76 he went from the original band and at12 i saw the Welcome to my nightmare tour wich was a kinda goodbye to my dear alice, so i hadnt heared this song til recently..and i think it's the most beatiful simple song for any 'simple' person with feets on the ground. I can see im oldschool and today this kinda life hardly exists
It would be a boring old world if we all liked the same thing Angela. You dont have to say sorry for being honest. I love what you do. I think it's a great song , but I think the video let this song down.
I love this song.
It’s not about a boring relationship. It’s about a couple that don’t have much but they have each other.
Beautiful song.
I love your honesty. Most reactors (especially the couples) seem to love every song they listen to and over react how great the song is.
The accompanying video put me off. It looked like a video for domestic violence rather than the beautiful love song it is.
@@barrywilliams2539 it was a bad
video. I think a lyric video would capture more of the songs meaning.

You need to check out the official video of this song from 1977. It's very different and matches the song much better.
No More Mr. Nice Guy by Alice Cooper
As the proud owner of this vinyl called "Whiskey and Lace", I must say this song gets hardly a second look when one mentions Alice and all his hits.

She never cares for a slow ballad. Always has to be fast or upbeat
Cooper is the man
For such a wild and crazy rocker he had a string of soft pop hits. This one was his most blatantly commercial. I still like it though because it brings back such fond memories of my childhood in 1977 when life seemed like it was utopia to me.
I had this on 8-track when I was a kid. I think "Stars '77". Kind of reminds me of "Beth" by Kiss
Schools Out, Eighteen. To very big Alice Cooper songs
Two

Agreed, awesome sauce!
Love This Song👍 Please Give A Listen To Carpenters Where Do I Go From Here ✌️
Check out Without You by Nillson. A Classic 70s ballad if ever there was one.

I Never Cry (Live) Alice Cooper
I was not a Alice Cooper fan back then, liked John Denver and Carly Simons…I do like this song more nowadays then back then.. JMO 💙💙💙💙
" School's out" is the best I would say.
