Then got promoted to vp of operations or something like that in Lufthansa and now retired. What a great pilot. Thanks for the video.

I'm not a pilot, nor will I ever be. But, I love to fly. And, so very much appreciate the beauty and the skill of flight by pilots that take us to where we'd love to go in these incredible aircrafts. The technology is absolutely amazing. I remember the first ever time in an aircraft I was all alone and 7 years old but overly excited and had a geman man who sat next to me talking nonsense about how he hated deserts haha - regardless, I asked the attendant if I could see the cockpit and they let me sit with the pilots for a little bit. I remember they even had a navigator in those days, now it's only 2 pilots. Quite melancholic as I wish I remembered more of that experience. There's something almost magical about these videos. Miss those days I suppose because after my 20's i became a nervous flyer and IDK why.

I guess I stopped trusting humans and had/still have a very cynical view but at the same time, there's no point in worrying about things out of your control. It's kind of worked for me over the years.
@@cowboyanimal_1 some flights I’m okay but my last flight in March was back gone from Paris, there was a 12 hour delay due to winds and I was all worked up by time I got on the flight and was one of the worst flights ever for me even though it wasn’t turbulent or anything, just overthinking

It is the radar altimeter calling out the distance to the ground in feet. Often you wouldn't even hear it say 5 because the plane lands right after it says 10, so it was a very smooth landing. When RyanAir lands it sounds like "100, 40, RETARD"! Btw it's the plane telling the pilot to retard the thrust, aka throttle back.

The american market imposed conditions on VW that were almost impossible to fulfil the VW values had to be much better than those of vehicles built in the US otherwise VW would not have been allowed to sell in the states. Nevertheless, the emission values of VW are still better than those of US cars.

A water cannon salute is quite an experience. My 'Honor Flight' to Washington D.C. and return to indianapolis International was accorded that honor at both ends. An awesome experience I shall always remember (fire trucks lined up on both sides shooting streams of water high into the air from their cab-mounted water turrets and down onto your taxiing aircraft)...a great finality to a flying career...makes me tear up to think or talk about it! I shall NEVER forget it!

im not that big of a fan of aircraft, but when i found this series of videos, i subscribed. its super interesting and Cpt. Raps did a great job at keeping me interested, he and his co-pilot were a great team, and now he has retired, i dont think the video's will be the same....
