Black Mesa (the Half Life 1 mod, if you have Half Life 1 installed) brings Half Life 1 graphics into the 21st century. For Half Life 2, use "Half Life 2 Upgrade", by Source (I believe). Then, HL 2, episode 1 and HL 2, episode 2 are "new enough", so you can take it from there, and (having finished those), that will bring you up to date, with the "Where is Half Life 3 already?!" crowd, with the rest of us.

thanks, I've play up to HL2 (yeaaaars ago) only reason I didn't touch episodes is because at the time, I remember them saying there was gonna be 3 episodes, so I want to wait until they were all out... I guess that ain't happening though, lol...

The controls haven't changed, but what probably has changed 26 years later is the frame rate that you're experiencing the game as well as the mouse sensitivity with modern gaming mouse hardware
Can recommend the Black Mesa remake. Now that you've replayed the original you can really appreciate the work the fans put into the remake

Ah, didn't even consider that, but yeah that could be about the frame rate on morden hardware, thanks big appreciation for that.
